... FIRST SHOW ... FIRST ROW ...
... Don't Hate Me Cause I'm Beautiful ... hate me because I had a front row seat for David Cassidy LIVE!!! Yes folks, you heard right, front row! I'm talking close enough to put my feet on the stage (well ... the security people wouldn't have liked it too much if I was putting my feet on the stage during the show ... but I'm just saying I was close enough to).
The first show of the 2013 Teen Idols Tour ... here in Westbury , NY (Long Island) and it was simply AWESOME straight out of the gate!!! And starting out with a theatre in the round which is a bit tricky, staging wise, makes the success of this first show all the more impressive. They are fun though ... theaters in the round ... and they are becoming fewer and fewer over the years ...
Anyway ...
Westbury 'formerly know as the Music Fair' is THE last one left in the USA. So it was great getting the chance to see David, Peter and Micky play there together.
Well ... back to talking about the LIVE show ...
It was just what the doctor ordered for us here on Long Island. Long Island has really been hurting after Hurricane Sandy ... I should know I got 6 feet ... yes, 6 feet high flood waters in the main level of my house. So we Long Islanders really needed something to take our minds off things and Friday's LIVE concert was just the thing! You'd never have known how much we went through only months ago if you attended Friday's concert everyone was smiling and swaying and singing along and having a great time! It was a truly magical musical evening. The place was packed and everyone there was loving the show.
David still looks GREAT after all these years and his voice still shines on all his classic hits. He Peter Noone and Micky Dolenz are a perfect trio. Their music goes very well together and the banter back and forth between the three during the evening is very enjoyable... the three guys on stage were loving the show just as much as the audience was.
They are coming back here to Long Island to do another show (next time outdoors) in early September. And I will be sure to be there once again because it was so-o-o-o-o good!
