Concert Review
The Newton Theater, Newton, NJ
June 10, 2016
David Cassidy is truly an entertainer in every sense of the word. He changes as the times change and increases his fan base with every concert he performs.
I have seen the dynamics of this band change dramatically in the last year. Each band member brings his own element to the performance, yet together making one of the best blended sounds I have ever enjoyed listening to. Fabio, A true bassist, is the backbone of the background. Snyder, unbelievable what he does with an electric keyboard, puts my piano playing to shame. Robicheau, plays an incredible electric Guitar and his solos are, well you just have to hear to believe them. The newest member Torres, probably one of my favorites because he is a Jersey boy, masters those drums to bring the beat to a whole new level. These men combined make for one amazing high energy show, of course with their leader, singer/guitarist David Cassidy, who is not too shabby himself on the guitar and David's voice is stronger than ever. His vocal inflections are cool, he is hitting notes that I’ve never heard him sing before, in an extremely sultry/sexy manner. He is incorporating old favorites with new genres of songs for each set.
I am impressed with his enthusiasm and his humbleness towards his audience/fans. He truly loves performing and making sure his audience is having a good time and enjoying the show.
Each time David plays in the NY, NJ area, his shows seem to get more and more positive reviews. After seeing several of these east coast performances, including last nights at the Newton Theatre, I can definitely see why.
Nice to see David traveling on Route 66 revitalizing himself as if still on Route 23. (It's a Jersey hwy)
I can guarantee anyone who comes to a David Cassidy performance will leave not only with great memories and a sentimental smile, but with an appreciation for a man who truly commands a stage and yet humble enough to thank his audience.
David's love for life, music and his fans was apparent in this evenings show. The audience was so receptive to his every song, it seemed more like a party than a concert. Everyone's spirits were raised due to this one man and his incredible band.
Looking forward to the summer NJ/NY concerts and hopefully some FL concerts in the Fall.
