Pop legend Sir Cliff Richard is to make an appearance at a Lancashire bookshop. The evergreen housewives' favourite plans a 2008 visit to the Silverdell Bookshop in Kirkham to sign copies of his new book.
Cliff is just one of many celebrities arranging a stop at the store in coming months, with Alan Shearer, Ian Botham and Colin Montgomerie signed up.
Co-owner Elaine Silverwood said the shop had "stepped up a level", from one which drew minor personalities to one which attracted stars like Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff and Sir Terry Wogan.
She said: "I think getting Freddie in January and then Terry in October has shown the big-name publishers we can cope.
"I have to pinch myself sometimes to realise some of these people are actually coming here, and that publishers are booking so far in advance.
"We had big crowds for Freddie and Terry and others, but I can see those for people like Alan Shearer and Cliff being on another level."
Pop star David Cassidy has also been confirmed for April next year, and there are hopes of getting Prime Suspect actress Helen Mirren to the store.
Silverdell today welcomes actor Ricky Tomlinson.
