    • hi im from Canada does anyone know why i cant buy this album? i tried from Amazon etc i would really love to buy theses songs…im a huge DC fan…i miss him alot…thanks

    • Just saw the documentary, The Last Sessions. What a wonderful, tragic, lonely, beautiful but such a sad farewell to someone I always admired as a young girl, but not a screaming one, just a feeling of happiness at his smile and that voice. To hear him with his friends, his wonderful fabulous band, was almost an honor, to see them all together. I want the CD and am so glad to be able to hear it. Thank you

  1. Thanks Jane for letting us know, and to Craig, the band and all at Mix Kitchen for your work and support of David.

And of course David for your endurance.

Without all of this we would not have had the privilege of being able to hear this last beautiful recording.

    • Couldn’t say it better. Thanks Lyn, thanks to everyone,. It’s so good to hear these at last . David sounds wonderful – so soulful. Superb!!!

    • Lyn thank you for putting into words my precise thoughts.
I send a heartfelt hug of appreciation to you Craig, each member of the band, Mix Kitchen team and Jane.
Also to you, the fans, which I feel are like close friends, even though we have not met, our love for David and his legacy we have in common.

  2. I got it but Apple made me join Apple Music in order to download. I wasn’t able to do what I’ve done before and pay per song or album.

    • My favorite is Sweet Little Angel, which I’ve seen video of him doing in one of the latter concerts.

      • Gotta be Night and Day for me. Have always loved that song from way down deep, and when I first heard David sing it…..i was simply bowled over…….just WOW! Love Craig’s solos too – glorious partnership!

Just played summertime…… That is amazing, really swings. Top of his game! What a concert we missed!

  3. WOW! Love all of this wonderful EP.

Just so everyone know it is available on Google Play, which is where i got it from as not an IPhone or Apple product user.

  4. I’m just starting my UK trip and so great surprise. Thank you . Thank you Doreen for info
    Weronika

  5. Thanks Doreen, was worried I would not be able to hear this.
Woo hoo – love it! Night and Day my fave.
Thanks to everyone involved with this recording

  6. Thanks JANE for all you do on this website . Lovely songs ,just shows what a talented man David was,to sing so many varied songs . My favourite is night and day and also wish you were here .

  7. Well I managed to buy it but can’t seem to load it onto my kindle 🙁
Assumed as it was droid-ish it would be ok. Usually is. So frustrating. Heard the samples tho. Claire that’s really good to know about David playing piano. I’ve rarely seen or heard him play – I think he did on some early albums.. Thank you for sharing. If anyone has advice for downloading to kindle wd be grateful. Best advice is don’t buy one!! 😉

  8. Wonderful songs recorded so well by David. Thanks Jane and Craig for letting us know about these. Also bittersweet being his last recordings. Couldn’t have come at a better time for me, today is my birthday so I’ve bought this as a gift to myself. Also have ordered “Crazy over you in Saratoga” book. As one of David’s songs says “wish you were here” David.

  9. Please tell me we will be able to get this on Amazon to download. I’m not computer savvy. You can transfer iTunes to kindle. It looks like it’s not that easy to do. Really want to hear his last work. Bless his heart. Yeah, I’m southern y’all. We will always love David.
    .Debbie

  10. I bought it on Google Play but I can´t get it as a mp3. I just can listening to it online.
Great job here. Thank you David and his band for this lovely gift sent from Heaven above ♥

    • I tried downloading to my phone but it wasn’t on there as an mp3. My boyfriend came to the rescue. You need to sign into your google account on a windows computer. On the left you should see google music. You can download it onto the computer as an mp3 and using the charging lead you should be able to put it on any device.☺

      • Thank you, Berverley!!! You are so nice to help me. Iwill try it later. Thanks again 😘

  11. Hello, everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t posted on here in awhile. I’ve been reading the updates on this blog and all the comments, but I just haven’t been able to post any comments on here myself, lately. Like everyone else, I’m still trying to cope with David’s passing, but right now, my Mom and I are dealing with an even bigger loss. On April 26, after years of being in poor health, my Dad passed away. As I mentioned in an earlier post, he had been in hospice care. He went peacefully in his sleep, and now he’s in Heaven with Jesus. He and My Mom were happily married for 53 years. He is loved and missed so much! As much as I miss David Cassidy, I miss my Dad even more. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word, and I hope one day to find a man with those same qualities. Love you, Dad!

That being said, this collection of songs by David Cassidy looks great. He seems to have an eclectic taste in music, and I look forward to hearing these songs. David had a voice that was one of a kind, and nobody can ever take his place. Love you David! Love you too, Dad! I miss you both.

    Kelly

    • Kelly
So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I hope you and your mum can find comfort and strength in sharing all the happy memories you have of your dad. He’ll always be with you in your heart. Take care,
      Dianex

    • Ohh, Kelly…. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Please, accept muy sincerest condolences. I will say a pray for him. Big hug to you and the family 💝

    • It really is one of the hardest things in life that you will go through when you lose a parent , sending you hugs. Your dad will always be in your heart.

    • Hi Kelly

Also sending condolences to you. I wish you, your family and all loved ones strength.
      God bless.

  12. Dear Kelly,
My heart goes out to you ,your Mother, and your family. I hope knowing we will see them again gives you peace. Take comfort in God. You are in my prayers.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie

  13. I’m so very sorry you’ve lost your dad, Kelly. I know and understand your heartache. Hold on tight to the memories. Although it doesn’t seem so now, with time things will get better. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  14. I have just found Timm McCoys interview of Marlene Habib. He plays 4 of these tracks…sadly not summertime…but it was interesting. Marlene spoke of doing a further piece on David later in the year. Timm also said he would have Dj’d at Saratoga for the memorial. Perhaps he will next year?

  15. I just listened to his last songs (I hate saying his last). I heard him say in interviews that he didn’t do encores with his concerts because he wanted to leave us wanting more. He left this earth the same way. We still want more. Till we meet again , dear David.
    Debbie

  16. Dear Kelly,
My condolences on your dad passing away.
My heart goes out to you. I lost my mom 5
months ago. I have healed from her death. So
I know time will heal your pain. May you find
comfort in happy memories of your dad.
May God bless in this tender time!

  17. Thanks Diane.UK, Weronika, JudyA, Sian and Araceli for your birthday good wishes and hope you all will be able to get David’s new recordings. Very enjoyable. Also my sympathy to Kelly and your family for the loss of your Dad.

  18. Dear Kelly. Today I ve been at Westminster Abbey lighted candles for people I loved and also prayed for your family.
    Please accept my condolences

    • Hi Weronika!

      Welcome back to the UK.
All UK DC apologe for the stormy weather this weekend. Hope you enjoy your visit despite the inclement weather.

  19. Kelly please accept my condolences ,I was so sorry to hear about your father . Big hugs ,you take care .

  20. These recordings from DC and his band are recorded purely, and in that elemental way, you can hear the deep emotion in DC’s vocal arrangements, with gentle instrumental accompaniment from his band, notably Craig J’s jazzy piano that DC breathes in and releases vocally in response. Great gift to DC fans. Heartfelt in my thanks♡

  22. Thanks for the sweet condolences, everyone. It’s a sad time right now, but I know with time, things will get better. It’s kind of hard right now to “get happy” like The Partridge Family theme song says, with both my Dad and David Cassidy being gone. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ll be glad when this terrible decade is over.

I’m so glad I found this website. Everybody here loves David Cassidy as much as I do, and you’ve also been so kind and caring about the loss of my Dad. You’re all so special! Thank you, again.

    • Kelly I don’t know if you remember helping
me with your kind words when my mother
died last December? That’s what a true David
Cassidy fan does, they console one another.
Time heals all wounds. Your dad is in a better
place out of pain. He is with the Lord in Heaven.
This web site is the best website on planet earth!
Each day you will heal little by little, and you
have a good support system on this very special
      David Cassidy website!

      • I do remember , Felicia. And thank you for the kind words. My Mom and I are taking this a day at a time. As hard as it’s been to come to terms with David Cassidy’s death, it will be even harder with my Dad’s death. My Dad had some things in common with David Cassidy. Both were music lovers, and both treated everybody the way they wanted to be treated. Both loved animals, and both were family men. (As far as my Dad’s taste in music goes, he loved country music, as do I, but David Cassidy’s music is loved in our family, as well.). My Mom and I still feel my Dad’s presence in our everyday lives. He is in our hearts forever, and we will see him in Heaven when the Lord says it’s time.

  23. You’re very welcome Kelly, will take some time to deal with your Dad’s loss, I lost my father in September, 2016. Hope you continue to have a great UK holiday Weronika. And Lyn, I understand what you mean about Australian men not admitting to liking David Cassidy, his talent wasn’t just for female fans though was it. And that became more apparent, I think, as he got older and his appeal broadened, even though the majority of his fans I’m sure would still be female. Araceli, I wasn’t able to access the link to show the group fan photo/s at Saratoga Springs when I clicked on your link. Do you know if there’s any way I could possibly access it, it said there was no link to the page?

    Sandra,
    Sydney, Australia

  24. I have tried to help neglected horses in the UK – so pleased to read on David’s face book, his band will stage a tribute concert and proceeds will go to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s David Cassidy Sanctuary Fund.

  25. … as above, although I already knew David raised money to help retired race horses, I haven’t heard before about the ‘Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s David Cassidy Sanctuary Fund.’ I don’t know if this is a new idea but it would be a wonderful way to remember David and his love of horses.

  26. I see they have passed their target for fundraising for the plaque at the Phoenix theatre – fantastic news, and still time for it to increase before June. Claire if you hear any more detail about the Sanctuary fund please could you post it here? many thanks!

  27. ‘The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s David Cassidy Sanctuary Fund’ isn’t a new idea – have just read on David’s site it was founded in 1983 with a mission to help save thoroughbred horses when they are no longer able to compete.

    • I think you have to join Facebook to see all of the goodies on it… Personally – I still resist that for privacy and data reasons. Many people still resist. I understand that posting on this website is not exactly a private affair but it is then more or less up to us how careful we are about what we reveal. There are hackers (of course) but that’s something that almost everyone is up against. Sian

      • Are you able to watch the video from Saratoga? I sent the link and I think more of you watched it. But maybe you are right and have to join Facebook first, Sian.
Have a great day everyone ♥

        • Hi Araceli, no still not able to see the Facebook album with pictures of the group at Saratoga but thanks for trying. As Sian says above, maybe I would need to be on Facebook to view these. I was able to see however the video on the day at Saratoga.

          Sandra,
          Sydney, Australia

      • Hi Sian
I’ve resisted FB until now but it was the only way to donate to the Phoenix plaque and as I didnt get organised for the bench I just did the total bare minimum to be able to make a donation via FB. Having said that I’m getting lots of email notifications, but no big deal , just another ped to remember 🙁
I see there’s talk of Saratoga being an annual event. I wd love to go next year.

  28. Debbie Mackey, I agree totally with your post. Hi Kelly, your dad is at peace, and you remember all the good memories of your dad, and you and your family were so good to him, and he’s up there in heaven smiling , and may you find peace, and nice to see you post with us, David Cassidy fans are always there for eachother. Hi Felicia, I am so happy to have you as a true friend. Saratoga was a special place, I really like the songs David recorded, Felicia I am looking forward to the documentary on June 11, and Weronika, thanks for sharing your trip with us, I enjoy reading your posts, thanks for telling us about the places you seen and where David was. Enjoy, and hi to you all, I will say, I really enjoyed Saratoga Springs N.Y. and all the nice David Cassidy fans I met. And meeting you Felicia, I have new memories to treasure, and I liked the town and I really understand more of why David Cassidy loved Saratoga.

    • Denice you are a peach! You are sweet as can be!
Thank you for the praise and kind words. Thanks
to David Cassidy we met on this website. We
started out as penpals, we graduated to phone
calls, then we met in person and became real
friends! Our friendship is a success story. We
have made so many friends on this website.
Fans around the world know Felicia Duran and
Denice Kirth! I am so proud to be your friend!

  29. David left us a beautiful gift. Thanks to Craig and the band for making this happen.

    Maggie

  30. To everyone: fans , the band, the website, David s family ,his friends, and David himself Thank you. God bless and keep all of you.
    With heartfelt love and prayers,
    Debbie

  31. Dear Debbie,
Thank you for the kind words, they are heart
felt! I love everything that David Cassidy stood
for. He was a very kind , compassionate man
who loved life. He was an awesome human being!
He touched so many lives! I will always love him.
I am so glad us fans have each other to express
    ourselves on this website!

  32. Felicia, I just read your post, and you said this from your heart. My true friend, you Felicia are one of the nicest , kind caring and your compassion for people and animals, I feel I won the lottery in finding a friend like you. And I really miss David Cassidy , and Saratoga was such a beautiful celebration for David Cassidy. My dad watched the PF today, and he.gets it now who David Cassidy was and what he meant, I say this why didn’t he get it in the 70s, I missed everything and didn’t even know when the PF parade went through Cle, and David performed in Youngstown Oh, skip and jump away, I followed David’s career, and it’s true he always left you wanting more, and for me back than it was to watch the show, or get to the local drugstore and read about David, and be lucky enough to buy a magazine, so I think as I got older and took charge of my life, I really appreciated David Cassidy even more, I could buy his albums, and play them over and over, just loved his voice so much, so today I’m grateful for my friend Felicia, and yes we became friends here, and I just love the fact, that friendships everywhere are happening, David Cassidy fans are friends, and David left us with the songs his father taught him, those songs had a very special meaning for David, those were happy moments with his dad. Thank you for sharing with us David, now we the fans ,can go back to the beginning , of where you found your love for music.

    • It’s a real magic, listening to his music every day and always wanting more..

    • You have a unique way of putting things that seems to transcend all barriers, Denice. So movingly put and it’s so great you have found a wonderful friend and brought so much understanding insight to David’s special fan pages. Sian

  33. Wish I could meet you all. Through this website we’ve been able to talk about our common love for David, his music and many talents . I’m glad we can share these together. So great some of you met and became friends! Still touching lives. That’s a legacy!
    Debbie

  34. David’s fans may be interested to read this, written by David’s friend, Chip Deffaa –

A@E will be broadcasting a two-hour documentary on David Cassidy on June 11th. I’ll watch it, although it will probably make me very sad. I knew David well – he picked me to ghost-write his autobiography – and there was a lot of sadness in his life … This documentary project was actually in the works for quite a long time. (And David was looking forward to it.) A@E originally made a deal with David , while he was alive and still performing, to devote four nights in prime-time, to telling his life story. He promised to provide maximum input, and to work hard to promote the final product. And they hoped to do an in-depth kind of documentary. But his descent into dementia and death made it impossible for A@E to complete the project as originally planned. And the documentary was condensed from four nights to one night. Footage they shot of him at what was presumed to be a “typical” recording session turned out to be footage of his very last recording session. By chance, they were catching an artist at the end of his career. And the focus of the project changed. David had a great deal of talent, but he also had demons he couldn’t overcome. We’ll be seeing, I suspect, more of a portrait of David Cassidy at the very end of his life than an overview of his whole career. I’m glad A@E is devoting a night to David Cassidy. I hope their documentary (now titled “David Cassidy. The Final Session.) turns out OK. I worry a little, because footage of him near the end of his life may not show him the way he wanted to be remembered. But we’ll see … When NBC-TV devoted an episode of “Headliners @ Legends” (with Matt Laver) to David, years ago, they threw it together very quickly, and just skimmed the surface of his life. They came out to my home to tape on-camera interviews with me and asked easy, softball questions and left. David’s life could make a very interesting documentary, if people were willing to put the work into it, and be honest. On June 11th, we’ll see how A@E does ..

    • I sense the same thing as this contributor, Chip.

I think it is going to be painful, but very important, to see the real David at the end and probably very different. God knew it was time to take him away from the place of dementia David absolutely dreaded after his Mom’s journey.

Don’t have A&E, but will ask a family member to tape it. More importantly, for fans, hope A&E offers a DVD.

      • I didn’t know that David’s autobiography was ghost-written. I’m disappointed… but maybe Chip – as he sounds like a good guy – might do something, himself, one day (to add some depth; as he says…) Sian

        • He wrote a very interesting article about this collaboration after November21 . it’s on our site .

          • Thank you – Weronika. I freely admit that there’s plenty that I haven’t seen or heard, yet. Hope yoy’re enjoying today. Sian

          • Weronika, thank you for sharing. Which site is it that I may read the article you mention.

        • Not sure if Chip did the second one as well, but he is credited in c’mon get happy. I believe.

    • Thank you Claire for posting the update.

I wonder if anyone knows whether David’s family and other friends were asked to participate? I guess we will find out next week.

I’m sure all UK fans are hoping that we will find some way to see the programme.

David: Always on our mind and Forever in our heart.

    • Thanks so much Claire. It’s good to hear from someone so close to David. I hope its as good as Chip hopes, So very sad the original in depth project wasn’t possible. It would have been a wonderful tribute to David and parting gift to his fans. Some things aren’t meant to be I guess.

I just hope it will eventually be released on DVD so fans worldwide will be able to witness it. I would say one thing to reassure Chip at least in part, and that is :
Regardless of how this program turns out, David’s fans made up their minds ,and cherish their memories of this amazingly multi talented, compassionate guy a lifetime ago. He made such a significant impact in many of our lives when we were maybe in a dark place ourselves, or battling our own demons, you can’t put a price on that ,or ever remove that touch of Grace. We will always remember him with light and love. Could it be forever? That has always been a rhetorical question for Cassidy fans and I think David himself came to recognise that too!
Waiting impatiently to hear US fans response.

    • Will this be shown in the UK and on what channel. Can you please advise. Thank you
      Sheila

      • Hi Sheila,as it stands at the moment not getting shown anywhere but USA ,hopefully someone will put it on youtube.

  35. Thanks Claire for the posting. We all know David had his problems. Everyone has their story. I hope they
do justice to David’s story. He was a human being not a god. A real person, with everything that comes with it. His fans loved him and he loved them. That we will always remember. His heart.

      • Hi Weronika
Where are you in the grand tour this evening? Hope the weather’s holding out for you. We have been lucky today which is great as tomoro is Strawberry Fair in Cambridge, a huge free slightly alternative local music festival, so it will be a bit muddy if it rains.

I’m busy packing for a holiday too😁 just thought I’d catch up with everyones posts with a cuppa before the final assault….love holidays, hate packing. So looking forward to August 25 and hope to meet lots of D.C. fans at long last..
        Xx

        • Hi Diane, we are going fast today Scotland , tomorrow Liverpool. Everywhere I go the weather is great, today in Fort William 23 and sunny. The trip is intense , also a lot of fun and adventures.
Have a nice time Diane , wish you a great holiday.
          xxxWeronika

  36. Sian thank you so much, I also like your posts, and I relate well to how you say things, Sian I’m looking forward to David’s documentary, but I’m skeptical, to how a e is going to present one of the best entertainers that deserves his memory to be truthful , and also show the best of the best our David Cassidy, his career lasted from when he started to the sad end. His early years need focused on, because, those years were just so full of excitement, hard work, and David Cassidy talent and thers just so many chapters in David’s life, I believe they could of filled ten hours on David. So we will see, I’m thankful he will have this documentary on his life, completed, David Cassidy would not of agreed to do it, unless he was in it to complete and the love of his fans, friends and family. Thank you Sian, I am very happy to have Felicia as my friend.

    • So many times the media will try to cover a subject but just won’t go deep enough; or spend enough time; or even understand their subject properly… I myself, won’t get to see the documentary, in the near future, but I hope it manages to convey David’s talents – at least. Thank you, Denice, for your response. Sian

  37. Hi Weronika, I love hearing about your trip, glad you are enjoying, and seeing places David’s been. Enjoy every moment.

  38. Hi everyone. I’ve just had a catch up of all your news and ideas and links. So lovely to “hear” all your voices. I heard a great poem the other day – probably more directed at younger people who are wedded to their phones – but it was encouraging people to put down their phones and go to meet people face to face and have meaningful conversations. I thought their was a lot of wisdom in that, but I also thought that there are places on the Internet where people meet who couldn’t in reality, and where their is kindness and understand and respectful listening. Cheers to all David Cassidy fans (and Jane) who visit here and make this a truly meaningful place.

  39. Hello all, just saying hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend whatever you are up to.
    Enjoy Liverpool Weronika.

    • Thanks Judy, I’m on my way. Listening to David’s music and thinking about him and John Lennon.

  40. Hi Diane just like to say have a lovely holiday ,hope the weather is good .enjoy yourself. I am also looking forward to meeting you and other fans on August 25th xx

  41. Hi weronika glad to hear about your trip ,sounds like you are really enjoying yourself . I have been to Scotland a couple of times and to fort William such lovely scenery. Look forward to meeting you on 25th August xx

  42. Thanks Claudette, wish had more time to explore , to climb and walk , see Lake District ,hope that’s not my last time in the UK.. 25th August will be a great day.!

  43. Sian has written she was disappointed to read David’s autobiography was ghost-written by Chip – I was disappointed when someone on David’s face book commented the articles written by David’s friend, Sam, featured in Tiger Beat, weren’t written by Sam himself and he gave them interviews each week. But the articles were so authentically ‘David’ I came to believe Sam and David had a lot to do with them. I think the same applies to David’s autobiographies.

  44. Hi everybody. Have some mixed feelings don’t know if I like seeing John Lennon as a kind of museal object. But great black and white photos of him from the 70s. Are there any photos of David with John? I know only one with Yoko.
This night we are in Birmingham.
    Weronika

    • Awww, Liverpool!! Another of the places I visited when going to see David´s concert at Echo Arenna. I have met Teri Cote, David´s drummer, twice: once in London and that time in Liverpool, I gave her a pair of castanyetes that night. She is a doll and so very nice lady.

I remember all city was absolutely full with The Beatles´s story. I have my pic taken with John Lennon´s estatue. We also visited The Cavern and I loved seeing the Yellow Submarine at Albert Dock. Also the Museum where there was an exhibition about the Titanic.

I miss travelling along the UK and miss terribly my Davi. God Bless him ♥

  45. There is a photo of David with John – David is sitting on the floor and John is standing next to him, but I have only seen it once on the internet and haven’t seen it since.

  46. Hi from Torquay. We are here for the night. Have great time at Cheddar Caves and Gorge. We walked in the mountains – 3 miles , fantastic views.
In the couch have been listening all day to this amazing “concept” album “Dreams are Nuthin..” songs about dreams and dreamy songs. David’s voice at his best seductive, sexy , strong when it needed…

    • You’ve covered a lot of miles! I wonder whether or not you’ve had some real surprises along the way? I love that album. I think David broke free a little and had some creative control? Hope you have a wonderful night “…where the sky meets the sea”. Sian

      • “If you try you will find me ..” and “take me away” he was so young , 23 but some of these songs are so sad , really can’t find words.Amazing artist.

Sian , yes, there have been some surprises but I have be back home and think about them. There are only just 4 days left , Eden Project , again London. I enjoy every minute , fantastic , intense experience.

        • Devon and Cornwall are impossibly pretty in places. “…Call myself so very lucky…” Sian

          • “What a day for a daydream…” But I love this one ” it seems you’ve still got that old hold on me I just can’t seem to somehow set myself free.. ” David still got that old hold..

          • Hi All
Just sorted out my internet issues and back online catching up with all the posts! Weronika this is an amazing trip,i am envious!. You have seen more of UK than I have!! I too am in Cornwall visiting family, and the weather is much better than expected- now I know why😁😁😁
. Hope you enjoy Eden – I was near there yesterday. I prefer Heligan lost gardens myself, but it is impressive. Today we’ve been cliff walking near Newquay.
I’m hoping someone will post a review of the documentary once it airs – I thought it was Saturday (9th) but did I get that wrong? Seems to be 11th ?

  47. You really have seen a lot of the UK Weronika, hope you are enjoying yourself and found the people friendly.
Dreams … is a brilliant LP, love it too.

  48. Wonderful thank you Jane for keeping this going and having his talent legacy move on.

  49. Recently listened to the original recording of David singing ‘I Think I love You’ for the Partridge Family – I know they altered David’s voice at the time to make him seem more boyish by speeding it up – the original recording, without the speeding up, is incredibly different! He sounds much more mature and masculine!

    • Yes, I’ve heard that too. Just strolling through the gardens of Eden Project and listening to David’s greatest hits. How many times one can listen to “Could It Be Forever?” And ” I Write The Song” ?Far , far better than Barry M.’s version.

  50. Wow Weronika, you sure are clocking up the miles, and sounds like you are having fun!
I’ve not visited Scotland or Ireland yet, nor some of the #northern cities. Shocking I know – I’ve traveled half way round the world, but have not been to all the major UK cities and towns. Must rectify that sometime.

Was having an emotionally difficult time last week – coping with responsibilities of aging parents whose health is failing. Somehow listening to David makes everything SO much better.

I am reading David autobiography the second time round. His 1970s “Rock and Roll” lifestyle period was eye-opening. I guess generally we imagine all that it entails, but to read it in black-and-white was a bit shocking.

Also, in light of David’s new album, I’m trying see Jack Cassidy in a new light. He seems to have caused so much pain to David and the other family members – I had a hard time empathizing with him because I keep feeling David’s pain. It know was a complicated bitter-sweet relationship, and David did love him despite his faults and failings.

I have favourite songs/albums. I keep coming back to the Home is Where the Heart Is album. Also loving the self-titled album, and Didn’t You Used To Be.

What a goldmine David left us.

David singing Daydreamer was on a Popstar Icons programme on Sky’s Vintage channel. And yes, I was drooling……

    • Deb, I really understand you, have similar situation. It was always great to have such fantastic young parents as mine were , now it’s my turn to help, but it’s not always easy.

“Home Is Where…” I love every single song from “Bedtime” to “On fire”

Tomorrow evening we will be in London again , shopping, I want to buy some books and CDs and it will be the end of my UK tour….

      • Weronika – good luck with those book shops and cd shops…Small treasures to take home with you… Sian

    • Deb M
Home is where the heart is… one of my favourites and very underrated. I keep coming back to it. I have downloaded all of Timms radio show on to my mp3. I took a long walk down an old lane and woodland yesterday evening, alone with my mp3. It’s a walk I used to do as a teen when things got too much at home. Playing D.C. and PF tracks, walking in the dappled evening sunshine was quite an emotional experience and full of memories. So very grateful for David’s music and light in those times, and for all time, but isn’t it so difficult to think of this beautiful world without him in it?

      • Diane I’m on my way home somewhere in Germany but I write just to tell you that I was listening to Timm’s 12 hours all the time while in the UK and it was my constant thought that without David world has lost a lot of beauty and magic.

      • Hi Diane UK,

I know it sounds silly, but I only have copies of my DC CDs in the car. I can’t bear the thought of losing any of my precious DC music.

I downloaded all my CDs to my laptop, and am now creating favourite slow songs, favourite up-beat songs – and there are many!

A note of caution: From a safety point of view, please take care if you are out-and about alone, with your headset on. Please be alert, ok?

        • I have lost my entire music collection twice in my life; once to a flooded-out car and once to a storage warehouse fire… Very upsetting but your copies are a good idea! Also agree about the be-alert advice. Sian

  51. Hi everyone! Those on trips have a great time! Been reading your posts. Safe travels. I was wondering if they would ever release David’s unreleased music. Been listening to some. They’re really great.
    To Deb M.:
I know what you’re going through. We’ve been through it too. Trust me, it’s not easy but you will not regret it. Hope everything goes well for you and yours. Will be keeping you in thought and prayers.
    Everyone take care.
    Debbie

    • Thank you Debbie.

This site is a wonderful place to be.
Loving, considerate and caring – everyone here, LOVING DAVID and determined to make the sure the world acknowledges this amazingly talented man and all the hard work he put in during his life.

I just can’t explain how I feel so much love for someone I never met; but whose voice has been a HUGE part of my life.
I’d say, the first person who though wasn’t a member of my family, the 12 year old “me”, really and truly loved.

I say a prayer for him every morning, and there won’t be a single day from now on, where I don’t think of him

Beautiful man, may you now rest in peace.

  52. Today have spent few hours in some of the greatest London’s bookshops and music shops. And you know , I haven’t found any single David’s song, any single sentence about him . Even in 5CDs compilation “100 Hits of 70s teen idols” ,there are Bay City R. , Donny, David Essex but no David Cassidy. I’ve got so angry I just left and bought nothing. Really I ‘ve thought that at least “I Think I Love You ” was a hit.
    Weronika

    • Those shop owners need educating!!! You’re a teacher, Weronika… Maybe you registered a small complaint… or something livelier? It does sound a bit shocking. Have David Cassidy fans already bought up everything? Sian

      • Sian , seriously, it’s worse , many people just don’t know hls music and don’t know him, there are a lot of music biographies of any singer you can think about but nothing about David. Only fans remember him.

        • Aside from the obvious music shop changes that we’ve seen in our lifetime and the enormous increase in online purchases and downloads etc. I’m going to float this idea:

Men seem to punish “ladies’ men” by trying to ignore them whereas they seem to laud and fête “men’s men” into immortality…!

In the UK, at least, I cannot imagine a man trying to hide his Tom Jones or Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) music collection whereas I can definitely imagine a man hiding old records, tapes or CDs by the sexy French singer/guitarist Sacha Distel or the confidently, knowingly breathy and seductive David Cassidy. There are men who don’t mind us all knowing, of course… but aren’t they the “real” men who have nothing to prove???!!! Bravo to them… Sian

          • I think is easier for a male to like a good looking singer if they are part of a credible band. The young Ian Gillan and Jon Bon Jovi had lots of female fans but because there was a rock band behind them, they had both male and female fans. Even lighter rock such as Foreigner had fans of both sexes ( though not such a good looking singer -sorry Lou)

    • Wow! I’m stunned to learn that David’s recordings are nowhere to be found in the UK. He was HUGE there. I still have my original 45 of “I Think I Love You” in its picture cover. Priceless!

  53. Sian, you are right and it’s another interesting problem to discuss. I will think about it on my way home (while listening to David’ music)and we’re leaving today. Thank you for your
” company” and …. the weather was great every single day!

  54. Good to hear you enjoyed the rest of your trip Weronika. Sorry, I lost touch with posts whilst in Newmarket for a long weekend. My old schoolfriend treated me to a trip round the Racing Museum. Amazing place – and of course, I thought of David whilst there. Even more so when we we went to see the ex racehorses being retrained for new homes at the charity behind the Museum. I told my friend how David had supported this type of work in the US. She was very impressed. Then I returned home to find my copy of the Still Crazy In Saratoga book had arrived. Off to bed with cuppa to savour it. And I too am cross that a lot of people have not heard of David’s music. Do you think if we could get his old PF series run again on tv it would help introduce a new generation to him? How can we make this happen? Love to everyone. This is a great place and it is so good to chat to so many like minded souls. Xxxx

    • Jane Weir: “….This is a great place and it is so good to chat to so many like minded souls”

      Amen to that!!

    • Forcing things generally creates resistance. Back in ancient times – when we had parties and before the dreaded screens took over – you could have stuck a DC track on a turntable and let those sounds waft around your guests or through your garden… Heaven… That’s got to be the answer… Subtlety… Sian

      • Sounds good Sian. But even if each and everyone of us plays DC in the car, the house, the garden…… it.will still only reach a limited audience. I just remember the amazing impact PF had in the 70’s on young people. I still laugh at the excerpts on Youtube. Saw the one where they were in a Western scenario the other day. It was very silly but funny. Someone said ‘it’s a stick up’ and when DC lifted his cowboy hat off a huge lollipop was stuck on top of his gorgeous mane. Very silly but I had to laugh. And those 70’s fashions. So much classier and sexier than the 80’s. David still looks gorgeous.in them. Sigh…….

        • I wish you all the luck in the world but if you want to reach a massive young audience nowadays; you’ve generally got to reach them online with the latest young celebrities… Quality of appreciation matters just as much as quantity (unless you’re worried about earnings) and for me – our own children are probably the most likely ones to listen to David with “fresh ears”. Just a thought… Sian

      • It’s great that at the Phoenix Theatre will be David’s Memorial Plaque. The theatre is in the centre of London , very beautiful building. And I’m so happy that I’ve seen this place.

We know , that David’s voice , his music , legacy are just extraordinary , his songs are great pop and rock songs. And we know that he is one of the most underestimated singer in the music history. And if people are not interested in David so I can only say it’s their very huge loss.

The only thing we can do is what we do everyday , love him and his music, write about him and tell people about him .and be together – David Cassidy’s fans. . And I really believe ,as David told many times that a real talent would survive and one day the world will discover him again.
        Weronika

      • There is one online radio station that plays David’s songs, both solo and PF quite often, it’s called United Djs Radio and their website is uniteddj.com. The two djs i listen to are Mike Read and Tony Prince and heard David’s songs on their shows, but i’m sure some of the other djs play David’s songs too. You can send messages on Facebook, Twitter and another way is to text, the number is 66777 and type “United” before your message. I did this on Tuesday asking for a track off of “Songs My Father Taught Me” and mentioned that it had not be out long. They didn’t have that on the system yet, but hopefully they will get it soon. I did get “Lookin’ Through the Eyes of Love” played. Maybe we can get more songs played as this way you would get to a large audience.

        • Great! I know this radio station too. Doreen, thanks for the info.
          Weronika

  55. You know you’re a fan when… you listen to astronomers discussing the possibility of our planet being swallowed by a Black Hole… and your first thought is… “But all his music will be destroyed…!” Sian

    • That’s good. Sian , don’t laugh at me , but last year while I was on the plane, there were really serious turbulence , and I was listening to David’s music (like always) and closed my eyes and thought that as long as I could listen to his voice…..Really , at the first glance woman of a certain age but inside..

  56. Ha ha. Thank you everyone. You are right of course. It’s just frustrating isnt it that the powers that be seem to minimise David’s legacy. We just have to believe in posterity…and a little help from his fans.:-)

  57. Deb M ….to answer your question I would say no judging by comments made by David’s X wife Susan Shiftin on her Twitter account which looks like it has now been deleted. Sue slammed everyone who took part in the programme including his band. It was also stated the family did not want it aired or authorised it . I think perhaps some of the comments made hit a nerve and account now delete. David wanted the programme made to document his life and of course he needed the cash injection. It is well documented about his cash flow problem and how lonely he was after the breakup with Maura Rossi . The New York Post posted an article ahead of the forthcoming programme and it sounds like an honest account of events

    • Thank you Catherine.
Not sure when we will see it in the UK, but my stomach is in knots today.

    • Danny was a true friend, as were David’s band members. I think David did himself proud. He ultimately told his truth to the world. That takes guts. His friends who participated expressed themselves in a loving, compassionate manner; there’s nothing for them to be ashamed of. David left behind a final compilation of music in honor of his father & for the fans who will never leave him. Rock on, David, rock on.

      • Well said Maggie, I totally agree with you, thank you for posting. David showed a lot of courage by doing this documentary and sharing his life with us in this way. God bless you David, and also a big thank you to Danny, Sam, his band and all the others including the fans who will always stand by him.

        • The A&E documentary has its critics, but I think the most important thing to remember is that this was David’s idea. He wanted to do this piece. He knew that the cameras were rolling & that phone calls were being recorded. It took a tremendous amount of courage to put it all on tape for the world to see & hear. I have even more respect for David than I did before. An amazing man, no doubt.

    • As a person who had a long & loving, but tumultuous relationship with someone with serious substance abuse issues, I’m sure Sue had more than a fair share of problems & pain. Although I’m certain David loved her & Beau, and certainly never set out to deliberately destroy his marriage, the substances (drugs, alcohol, etc) take over & cause people to engage in behaviors they would never imagine themselves to be capable of when sober. And to think his family believed he was living a sober life, only to find out it wasn’t true, must’ve been the ultimate heartbreak for Sue, Beau & the whole family. I’m sure she wanted to protect Beau from more pain. But by the time this documentary was made, the marriage was long over. This was David’s project now. I suspect he thought that his mind & body would soon give way & he wanted to tell his story, warts & all, & settle with his demons while he was still functioning under full capacity. Alcohol & drugs destroy lives & affect families for decades. It affected David’s father. It took our beloved David from us as he used alcohol to mask the sadness & emptiness in his life. He was soooo loved by soooo many. I wish love could’ve saved him.

  58. I so much appreciate the documentary “Last Session” — I was able to see David in concert in Las Vegas in Feb 2017 — this was a dream to be able to see him in person — so blessed to have had that opportunity.

Such a loss — I know we are all still so very sad — but still love his music and will cherish his talent. RIP David.

  59. I just finished watching the documentary. I idolized David as a teenager and had all of the Partridge Family albums and posters of David covering my bedroom walls. I found the documentary to be beautiful and yet heartbreaking mostly because David never really wanted to be a teen idol. Combine that with the tumultuous relationship with his father and his total lack of control regarding his life and career and it leads to tragedy. Thank you for sharing David’s precious final and intimate moments with us. I had no idea what a tragic soul he was. I’m sorry, David.

  60. Strange… I loved David Cassidy in the Partridge Family & watched it every Friday night. I bought the 45 of “I Think I Love You” in its picture-sleeve cover & I still have it today. 😀
But I never had his posters on my wall & I eventually moved on to following hard-core rock & metal bands. Even so, when I would see him on TV, I’d always tune in to catch up on how he as doing. Even in tough times, like after his split with first wife Kay Lenz & a decline in his concert appearances, he always looked good, sounded good & seemed to have the power to always pull himself back up. But when I learned David was ill, it was like a punch in the stomach. And when I heard he had died, I literally couldn’t breathe. I’ve cried over the loss of this man more than I can admit to just about anyone, except the people on this website. I’ve had a lot of grief in my life, but I think the loss of David may very well represent the very end of my innocence, a time I’ll never, ever experience again. He’s more important to me than he could’ve ever known… because I never even knew it myself.

    • MaggieMay
Thanks for your post! Beautifully expressed and will resonate with many.

    • Maggie,
Your comments truly resonates with me.

Yes, I too feel this website IS the place to share our thoughts and feelings about the deep love we feel for David,, without being judged.

  61. Wish you were here best song David ever recorded.
I can’t stop listening to it and wish you were here with us.

  62. Has anyone ever heard the song “Crazy Over You”? It has a harder edge & I suspect it to be the type of rock song that David always said he longed to play as a “rock” performer. I love it. Unfortunately, it was never officially released. What a loss.

    • I just listened to “Crazy Over You” on You Tube, thanks for recommending it, Maggie. Fantastic song, definitely should have been released, I also think it’s the type of rock song that David wanted to play. If it had been been released it would been a huge hit.

  63. I also agree “Crazy over you” is a great song what a shame it was never released as a single.

  64. I will be remarkably honest here..David.you Angel, I love 💝 you and I always will!!
I too, find the song “Wish you were here” stunningly beautiful and I feel because it’s like a sharing with his dad, who I think was a selfish jerk .David had more talent in his little finger than his dads entire body! I find it so sad he nearly died entirely alone, and I don’t believe he understood how very I’ll he was. I born 62’ ripe 4 pickings I had every poster
Covering my wall and 💕 love him madly-album 45s. His dad was jealous &it showed.
I recognized his symptoms as alcohol endured encephalopathy due to liver failure because I too have it but from a virus I was angry when I saw him begging for help in a gentleman manner for a Vicodin or anything. He was not getting the right treatment and he was lonely

And he deserved to be taken care of. Like a king. I knew he drank but with both parents being alcoholics j, is it a wonder? They’re treatment of him living led to how he died!
Funny the older he got he looked more and more like his dad.it was a wild bumpy incredible ride for a long time and DAVID I CHERISH YOU! You deserved more!
I love 💕 now as then and I find it ironic he died busting his sick final days trying to finish wish you were here for his father. The drummer both broke my heart and blew my mind finishing wish you wish you were here ✨💫✨the heavens and stars are brghter I 💔 you
Julie you talented Beutiful human Being

  65. Just a few months ago, I was going on youtube and listening to David singing Paul Mcartneys song, “I saw her standing there” he was in a blue silk shirt and in his prime, harmonizing with a blonde woman! It was addictive! Also a version of “Aint no Sunshine” was during that same concert. Now I can’t find it anywhere. I found him singing Aint no sunshine in another place but not that version. Before he passed, i cld find it and after he passed i cld find it up until a cpl months ago. Why was it pulled and where can i find it? Help? Thank you.

    • Hi D.B.
I can’t answer your query, but I share your frustration. There was a really fabulous hour long concert of David in magic city Miami from April 2012 (?) which I think was put up by Dr lucio. It was excellent quality. David was on excellent form – I love to hear the banter between songs- his personality shines through in these moments. I would willingly have paid for a DVD of the concert. It too has disappeared and all that remains is one track of it where David sings a tribute to Davy Jones. It would be great if Dr lucio could either store the concert on this site, or make it available on DVD.

I much prefer a DVD to streaming as I’ve had so much trouble streaming to devices – sometimes your purchase is tied to a particular device – so if you replace it, you have to repurchase everything, and if you don’t have net access where you are its totally useless.

    • Hi D.B.
Just reread your post and…. I think that might be from his 2002 live concert DVD which you can still get sometimes on ebay or amazon. It was a glasgow concert (there are 2 concert dvd’s one is the 2002 concert the other is a red box and is the 2 yrs later concert – you can see them in the discography on this site I think). He wears a blue silk shirt in the first and sings with his backing singers who are blonde- tho I cant remember which songs – check the discography on this site. The dvd usually has a pic of him wearing the same shirt. Sometimes its priced rediculously high but recently I saw a second hand copy for about a fiver – keep looking is my best suggestion!! Good luck!!

      • ….if only Lucio could find a way to make some of his DC videos available on this site it would be amazing – they truly would be a great archive and legacy for all fans.

  66. Please release this on CD,I have no device to download it and do not want one,I want a CD please. Thank you.
