Davy Jones

Davy Jones (December 30, 1945 – February 29, 2012)

I am deeply saddened to hear of the news of Davy Jones’ death. He was a friend, a comrade and a great talent.

I have wonderful memories of the times we performed together, in particular the last time on September 7, 2011 in Bergen PAC in Englewood NJ. I am going to dedicate a portion of my show which we were to do together in Miami, this April, to Davy.

He gave the world, his family, and his friends, much love and light to remember him by. To me I’ve lost a brother in a strange way. We had shared so many loves and passions and parallels together. I will certainly miss this fine man and the world seems a little less light today.

God Bless you all and I love you all.  David

Mike Melvoin

Michael Melvoin (May 10, 1937- Feb 22, 2012)

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Mike Melvoin last week. I have lost a friend and a long time musical partner.

I first met Mike when he was part of the Wrecking Crew and we were working on the first Partridge Family album. More recently Mike wrote the score for the movie ‘The David Cassidy Story’ and he was a co-producer on ‘A Touch of Blue’.

Mike was a very gifted musician. His musical legacy lives on in his recordings, writing and in his talented daughters Wendy and Susannah.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

To all my fans

I was very touched by so many people writing me messages on this website. I am very grateful for all of your loving, caring responses to my posts about my mom. I send you all my love and hope that you don’t have to go through the kind of emotional pain that I have experienced.

I appreciate that you do write to me here on my website. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please understand that I cannot accept postal mail at this time. I had a postman suggest I needed to do something when he had to deliver 200 items in one day. I am also mindful of the expense of postage.

I have had a wonderful holiday with my family. I hope you all have too. Beau and I spent some wonderful time with my mom who has had her medication changed slightly and seemed more responsive than she has done for a while now. We also had a memorable time with family and friends when we celebrated Patrick’s 50th birthday.

I’ve been asked to be on a couple of medical boards that are specifically focussed on the science of the brain. I am working in the USA on helping people who are going through the horrors of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I will continue to do as much as I can to make people aware of the coming epidemic of Alzheimer’s and related Dementia as the ‘Baby Boomers’ age. I hope that people can become much more proactive to at least change their lifestyles so that we can at least retard the effects of this condition.

If you are in the NJ area I encourage you to consider participating in the Running 4 Answers, a 4-mile race and 2-mile fun run in Roseland, NJ (near my home town). The event is on Saturday, April 28, 2012. I encourage you to check out the event website at http://www.running4answers.org/. If you live close enough, consider walking or running in “Team Cassidy”. Unfortunately I can’t be there in person for the event but I do support such an important fundraising event. You can sign up for the event now on their website. Another option is to make a donation, also through their site. All proceeds go to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (http://www.curealzfund.org/)

God Bless DC

Refunds

I am truly sorry about the confusion that arose from my cancellation of the webcast. Refunds are being made in full as soon as possible. The holidays have slowed down the process but please be assured that each and every one of you will receive a full refund. Thank you for understanding.

David’s Christmas Message

To all my friends, family, and fans where ever you are this holiday on earth….I LOVE YOU ALL. Thank you for taking time out of your life, and giving ME enough thought to come and to visit this site. God Bless you in whatever you may do, or be doing. Be LOVING, CARING, GIVING, COMPASSIONATE, and above all…BE GRATEFUL. I am. Very much so. Because as many of you now know, my mother has severe Dementia and has been living in 24 hour nursing care for about 7 (seven) years. For all intents and purposes I am her sole surviving blood relative. I’m her only child. She had no siblings that survived past the age of 6(six), therefore, I have felt very much alone emotionally. I know that, in fact it may not be true, but it FEELS that way to me. I don’t want, or feel I deserve anyone’s sympathy. I’m trying to deal with this in the best way that I can. My mother, quite frankly, lives in a diaper, and she doesn’t speak, and can no longer laugh or cry…. She has no real quality of life whatsoever. She now, sadly, just exists. This for anyone, is heartbreaking. All I would ask of ANYONE who can laugh, cry, feel genuine emotions, not to take the people in your life that you love and care about for granted. Think about what you “bitch, moan, and complain about”…. I do the same thing myself….until I see a photograph of my mom. Then, I stop and check myself and instantly feel genuinely GRATEFUL!!!! I’m very grateful for everything that YOU have given me in my life. For your LOVE, your SPIRIT, and your never ending support. I treasure the amazing experiences all over the world I’ve had as a result of that love and support. For this year’s end, and Christmas, I wish you ALL much LOVE and Happiness to you and all the ones you love. God Bless you and I wish and do hope that some time in 2012 I am able to go out and tour again, and celebrate, all over the world one last time…Thank You so very much…Happy Trails ….David

Merry Christmas
