      • Yes, but this 2018 DCD was sth so special and so badly needed, and was listening to by so many fans really around the world. And the way the music was presented, all songs were just amazing , and I rediscovered some of them again , eg “Morning Rider..” or ” Romance” ..
And also this year David Cassidy’s birthday wasn’t forgotten by United DJs

        • I have emailed Jane regrding Timm’s 2018 DCD with link to archive, it may take a few days for this to be updated with the info and i will email her about the 2 hour special he did this year with links to archive of special, but you Weronika are aware of this as we are in contact with our group of friends, but i post this for others to see.

  1. Hi, Bruce Cassidy lovers worldwide.
Special greetings to Lyn in Queensland, & Melissa in Puerto Rico. Lyn it’s only recently that I heard about the really bad floods that your region have experienced earlier this year. Really crazy as, Sandra in Sydney was telling us how hot it was in January over there where she is! Melissa too, living in such bad weather conditions that cut you off from the world for so long, & as you said living through one nightmare & finding out late in the day of another. I really hope that both of you, your families, friends etc., are safe & well that’s the most important thing. Posting on here really will be the last things on your mind if you are in the midst of sorting things out after all the havoc. But, if you can please let us know that you’re alright!
This morning was on youtube looking for info on something that I should have been looking for, but got distracted by viewing stuff about DC that I shouldn’t have! This has continued all day, & for whatever reason today for me became DC day, with me being upset & tearful again. One of the positive advantages of the internet , all these lovely images of DC live or in print , but I still get upset seeing him.
So decided to come on here & tell you so, to make me feel a bit better. Then joy of joy to see that Jane just two days before has put in this new section on the website. But again there is so much to see & read about DC , I for one don’t think I’ll be able to devour it all in my lifetime! Anyway, thanks Jane & Team for all you have been doing.
Felicia & Claudette when I read your posts of 2nd January I laughed out loud, you lovely ladies know how to cheer a girl up, again at that time when I was still not feeling good ’cause of the recent 21 November date. I may be repeating myself here, but some of my posts have been disappearing & reappearing irratically since I have been using someone else’s computer to post since November last year. But will get back to using my own tablet in a couple of months time , so hopefully things will be back to normal then.
Felicia, hopefully I can persuade Claudette to relocate to Massachussets too, so that we can all go on a 12 hour, Thelma & Louise & Louise road trip to Cleveland, to see Denice, (ha, ha). Hi Denice.
I leave for you a segment of what I have been watching all day that has been making me cry. Loads of you have watched it before I know. This is especially for those of us who were at Wembley just over 46 years ago, including Claudette, Judy A, Sian, & for Sheila Owens & others whose parents said they were too young to go . I thank my mum & dad for letting me go at only 12. I will be forever proud to say that the 1st pop concert I ever went to was David’s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep42l7CacCY
DC sitting on the stage & singing I am a Clown was for many during that tour the point that they were gone. My old friend Dilys included. I am gone seeing it now!

LOVE TO YOU DAVID, ADEOLA. XXXXX

  2. http://www.davidcassidy.com FOREVER!

I was having a discussion with our DFF group of friends (for “friends”, read “sisters”!), that I was listening to Randy Meisner singing “Try And Love Again on Hotel California album.

Beverley S mentioned that she had one of Randy’s album, where beautiful David sings backing vocals in three tracks.

So, as one does… I googled “David Cassidy Randy Meisner” or something similar, and guess what??, Google gave me

    http://www.davidcassidy.com/fansite/DiscographyPages/BackingVocals.html

    AMAZING!

David’s vocals on Take It To The Limit is so awesome. If you haven’t heard it yet, please go have a listen…..

  3. David Cassidy on Wogan, I just watched, what a performance, what a interview, what a star. Incredible , just beautiful memories,

    • Hi Denice, I hope you have a wonderful time at the David Cassidy Memorial Celebration in just over a week and would love to hear about it in due course. Loving all the photos, footage and interviews of David – he was superb.

      Sandra
      Sydney, Australia

  4. Thanks Sandra, I will do that. Really miss, the one and only David Cassidy. Not only you Sandra, understand what David Cassidy career, meant to us fans, here on this website we have all come together ,be able to discuss, and learn more about David’s gifts of entertainment he gave to the world. David Cassidy took interest in his fans, gave so much of himself for others and animals, truly miss him. His legacy will grow.

  5. Thank you ARCELIA, you are so far away, me to somehow I feel your friendship. You got that special hug, from David, and I met him, many times, for us we got to see him as a person , and how kind and down to earth he was. We will always have a special, special, extra special memory of David Cassidy.

  6. What is it about this man that makes us miss him so? I think it was the “first love ” feelings. You don’t ever forget that. If he only knew how much we cared about him, the person. I always wished him love, happiness and success. I think he found those with his son. I pray he passed in love, happiness and peace, and now rest in heaven, singing with the angels. Never forgotten. Always so loved. Dear David.

  7. Yes, first love, but I believe it was mutual whatever people say. That he really cared for us, really wanted to make us happy. He said at his last concert “it wasn’t for money”.And his music , the real soundtrack of my life, from the first songs about teenage love to the last album “Songs My Father Thought Me.” And the things he said about caring for each other and doing the the things we love. Finding our own way. Those words are very important for me. We will always miss him and we will never forget. Happy trails David Cassidy.

  8. I was listening to David’s music and was feeling nostalgic when I posted earlier. Now I’m so excited! I have been trying to get my hands on his “Touch of Blue ” cd. I finally found one! Will be arriving in June, a gift from my husband . I can’t wait to listen to it. He really received great reviews on this one. In my opinion, they all should have rave reviews. He had so many gifts! Rest his sweet soul. Blessings to you all.
    Debbie

    • Hi Debbie, so glad to hear your husband was able to find the “Touch of Blue” CD, it’s hard to find but definitely worth the search, it’s excellent, I have it and really enjoy listening to it, another side to David and his extraordinary musical talent.

  9. Thanks Judy! I can’t wait to listen to it. I sing and his style is unigue. He really learned his craft.
    Debbie

  10. David had so many talents such an amazing performer .he left us with such great music. like all of his fans i have many of his albums ,some are vinyl records some on CDs .I love his music it is so varied .such a fantastic voice .although I have seen him in concert I have never met him ,but I feel he has inspired me and made a difference to my life in many ways .we will always remember David his memory will always live on for ever

  11. Hi Adeola good to hear from you ,great post glad that felicia and I cheered you up ,but I don’t think I will be relocating to massachussetts ( ha ha ) take care xx

  12. David Cassidy a forever Star, my wish now for David Cassidy legacy is for him to be inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame.

  13. I feel the same way as you Denice .I would love David to be inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame I want that for him so much I did write a letter to them stating all the reasons I thought David was so worthy of this nomination. I really do hope this happens for him a performer who always gave 100% really does deserve this.

  14. Thanks Claudette, I think in time he will be honored in a legacy like no other. David at rest, and in peace. He gave and gave to our world, and the people he touched, we the fans, and the entertainment industry is not going to let a great talented entertainment artist not be recognized.

  15. Hi everyone. I hope David is honored for all his work. I have always thought the entertainment industry never gave him the recognition he so earned. I truly hope he is remembered for his talents and his caring heart. Bless his soul.
    Debbie

    • He is being honoured (English spelling!) by his fans, the world over. The beauty of that is that we know David had his trials (or demons, if you prefer) and still he has inspired endless love and loyalty… and an appreciation of his perfectionism and his acting and singing (and directing, for those who experienced that, too)… Shades of Wembley, March 1973… “David – we love you!!!”

  16. Hi Sian your post I liked, I like how you said David inspired endless love and loyalty. David Cassidy really did, during his lifetime. What a remembrance, for the world , And his talent, if we were to say, the road would never end, and would sure lead to happy trails. And hello Sian, hope all is well for you, and your spring is nice weather,we had alot of rain.

  17. Today, I received “Dreams Are Nuthin’ More Than Wishes” in the mail – a present from another fan… I hadn’t listened to the album for approximately 34 years…

Every word; every note; every intonation exactly as I remembered them: A David Cassidy masterpiece. Nobody could sing with more subtlety and greater
    perfection than David Cassidy… Overwhelming.

    • Great album, the first David’s own. He chose a producer (Rick Jarrad) , songs and people who worked with. Outstanding musicians – Michael Omartian , Ron Tutt , Emory Gordy , Larry Knetchel and it was also a debut for 21 year old Michael McDonald , later 5 times Grammy Award Winner. He played on every track and wrote this beautiful song “Hold On Me”. Love all songs, can listen to them all over again. They sound so fresh..

      • Thank you for the info, Weronika… Sadly, I lost my music collection, twice (once to a flood and once to a fire) but guess what? I never forgot. Who could forget?

        • Yes, who could ? I remember what Allison Pearson wrote in Daily Telegraph on the 22th November 2017 . That ” for the rest of our lives David Cassidy fans will remember and cherish those songs and memories”. And she finished her article with “Cherish” lyrics :
Cherish is the word I use to describe..

  18. I am so pleased you received that Album ,sian I have that as a vinyl record have to say ” Dreams are Nuthin more than wishes “is one of my favourite Albums

  19. “Dreams Are Nuthin More Thab Wishes…” is one of my favourite albums too. I have had the vinyl album since day it was released in 1973.

    • Do you still play the vinyl? It’s like digital film… You wonder if the original form is better… (?)

      • Yes, i bought one of those record players that have been on sale recently, but got it a couple years ago, just so that i could play the vinyl and to be honest it is better, i prefer to listen to it that way, but i love having the option that i can play it anywhere in it’s digital form.

          • Yes! His first chance of creative, musical freedom and he really went for it. It seems to tell the story of his whole life, too.

  20. Yes, this album is autobiographical, it was meant to be that way..and about dreams..Just amazing. After all at the time he was still so young, at the peak of his fame , but he co wrote such a song as “Can’t Go Home Again”…

  21. Hi Sian, thanks for asking, I will answer your question truthfully from my heart. Everyone knows how much I loved David Cassidy, I’m not in the book with the other fans who met him, I met David on several times, posed for pics, maybe cause I’m not on facebook I get bypassed, I felt a bit outcast, in Lake George. The two day event was awesome honor for David Cassidy. From the band playing partridge family music, to David songs, and 70s music, it was a rocking night, my friend Michael and I even got a dance in, he loved the performance the drummer lady gave, fantastic band, would love see them again. The speakers, love hearing David stories and more about his life. Johnny Ray Miller, put it out, I saw him two years ago, and in Lake George I learned more, I love his book when we’re singing. I don’t want say how the book took me away, great book to own. The silent auction was beautiful, nice items and memories of David, I bid and cookies with David pics on them, and few partridge pics, I gave Felicia a cookie. I won that. Food was delicious. The pics they showed of David, hearing his music ,in the room, the committee deserves a big shout out, thank you for honoring David Cassidy in high honor. Let’s continue to make the David Cassidy a legacy, of love to the one and only David Cassidy. Each fan counts, we leave no-one out. Everyone let’s get David into the rock roll hall of fame, he honored for all his charities, and the man he was aside from the entertainer, now it’s time to honor the superstar and singer and artist, and all that talent he blasted to us over so many years. I had a great time in Lake George, was so happy to see my friend Felicia, no-one can take a true friendship away. We’re back on happy trails, and I’m so happy we became friends on David’s website. I really loved posting with so many fans here, David Cassidy opened doors for fans to become friends, and we’re out there telling our David Cassidy stories, strangers are on board, the Cassidy family is true entertainers, good to there fans and all the Cassidy’s are exceptionally great people. To David’s legacy, may it outpour and grow deeper, and may be all meet halfway, cause it’s better than no way, I hope I could answer your question, Sian.

  22. Thank you, Denice… Only sad that you felt “a bit outcast” and hope that Michael, yourself and Felicia made up for that – for not being on Facebook. Many of us aren’t!

If all who post here had been “at the party” I think nobody would have been at all left out and we’d have had a complete riot!!! Why can’t life be that simple, huh? Sian xxx

  23. Thank you Denice for your post. This friendship is true David Cassidy legacy and yes, each fan counts ,Im not on Facebook too.
And one month ago I met with my friends Jane and Beverley, we spent a magic day together in Liverpool. Saw Echo Arena where David Cassidy once performed..We talked about him but also about other things because we are really good friends and care about each other. And we felt his presence … he still makes people happy and it would never change.

  24. Thank you Denice for telling us about your time in Lake George, sounds like it was a wonderful celebration of David. May his annual memoral celebration continue and his legacy live on forever.

    Sandra
    Sydney, Australia

  25. Our beloved David should without doubt be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Shame on them for not giving David the honour he truly deserves. He touched so many hearts with his love and his music. A truly magnificent gentleman. Beautiful comments for all above and so deserving. His legacy must live on. David gave so much of his life to others he deserves, more than anyone else, to be inducted in Hall of Fame. He was such a big part of my life and will always be remembered.
    Happy trails my love.
    Sheila xx

  26. Weronika, I saw him at Echo Arena in 2012 (My last time seeing him 🙁 ) He got so emotional and sang such a wonderful version of In My Life. He got a standing ovation and being in the city of the Four Fabulous (his favourite group too) must have been a fantastic feeling for him.

Thank you Denice for the review about the meeting. It´s great to meet other fans and have a great friendship with them. This is the magic of David ♥

Lovely post Sheila. Hope we can get this year the chance to inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yes, he really deserves that honor.

I love you, my sweetie and miss so much, my love ♥

    • Araceli, I know. Last year when I was writing my book on David Cassidy (btw the title is ” Don’t Call Me a Former Teen Idol” ) I read all articles, watched all videos and also yours from Echo Arena , with ITILY , David’s talk about John Lennon and this amazing version of “Could It Be Forever” sung with the audience. Thank you so much. So I was sitting outside Echo Arena really for about an hour and was thinking about this concert and those lucky people who saw him there and… how it still hurts. Big hug Araceli.
      Weronika xxx

  27. Hi everyone, Sian, Weronika, and Arcelia, Weronika, I like the title of your book, we all had titles throughout our lives, from babies, teens, adult, and aging, when they label David as former teen Idol, I just feel that’s not worded correctly, and I feel your book touches on that, of course that title was fitting in the 70s ,at those few years, David Cassidy grew of true talent and his achievements and accomplished a whole take of expanding that hidden talent of so much throughout his lifetime. The entertainment industry should of been the first to recognize that David Cassidy went beyond teen Idol, us fans are working hard to have David Cassidy recognized , as a entertainer, artist and all that he represented from A – Z. Are they saving the best for last? For me ,I will continue to write, to get him inducted into the rock roll hall of fame. You fans overseas, are a dynamic group of fans, David loved you guys all over the world, Danny Bonaduce once said, in the 70s David Cassidy was the biggest star in the world, I think I worded correctly. How true that was. And now he’s the biggest star in my heart, and to all of you. I love this website, and Jane is the best, I don’t know, but she worked so hard to make David’s legacy here, a beautiful gift I’m sure he can see from heaven.

    • Yes, he is the biggest and only star in my heart. My book is about all David Cassidy’s work in every decade of his life. And the title are his own words. He was always so nice and had so patience with journalists, but once he got angry, it was in 1998 and he said :
“Don’t call me a former teen idol.
      Don’t call me a heartthrob.
Don’t call me a sex symbol.
Tell me I’m bad. tell me I’m lousy
      But don’t call me that”
And I thought it would be just a perfect title.

  28. I couldn’t have predicted the profound sense of loss I felt at David’s untimely passing. I hadn’t really been a fan but it just felt like a light went out. I searched online for some videos and happened upon David’s amazing cover version of Paul McCartney’s ‘Tomorrow’. This led me to seek out his three RCA albums* from the mid to late 1970s, which I admit, I hadn’t known existed. I just couldn’t believe how good they are. At the time I was writing a book (‘Letters to a New Student’) and these three albums were played on repeat. And, the key to maintaining my motivation. Each time ‘Tomorow played’, I just sat back and took a break to give it the full attention it deserves. The RCA-three were pretty much all I played for more than five months and I never tired of them. At the end of the book’s acknowledgements, I wrote: ‘The three underrated RCA albums by the late, great David Cassidy (1950-2017) were the playlist for writing this book’. In hindsight, that probably didn’t do them justice.

The RCA-Three have become part of the soundtrack to my life. They are full of hope, and originality and inspiration to reach a little further. And, they make me smile.

  29. Gary Wood, I really enjoyed reading your post, and welcome to this website, Tommorow sung by David Cassidy , I love that song, so good to hear guys comment on David, and what his talent and music meant. David had a special effect on people, inspiration, and he sure did make us smile. Gary what is your book about?

  30. Great albums. Should be played again on the radio. When I show no fans the video with DC singing “Tomorrow” the reactions are always the same- “What a song! What a voice! Magic! What a beautiful, amazing man. Why I haven’t heard that before? ” Yes, why??

  31. Hi Gary. Great post!
Like you I didn’t know some of these albums and they hv become the soundtrack of my life…I can’t get enough of them.
My current fave is fix of yr love…these songs are all so fresh and stand the test of time. I just wish the DIs cd see that too instead of playing the same few famous tracks. We were lucky to have such a talented guy in our lives.
Hello to everyone…I’ve not posted in a while but still following. Best wishes

  32. Welcome Gary,
I enjoyed reading your post and i too love David’s version of “Tomorrow”, I must play that at least once a day and listen to those 3 albums regularly. Great to hear that you played them for maintaining motivation while writing your book, but as you say may not had done them justice, but now you can listen without any distractions. As you have now heard these great albums, you may want to check out David’s later albums too.

  33. Welcome to the website Gary . great post.i am pleased to hear that you played them they are great Albums .I love the songs “on fire & Rosa’s Cantina .but all his music /Albums were fantastic.the saddest thing for me he was so underrated

  34. Thank you Gary for your insightful and appreciative comments about the late, great, underrated man, actor and musician who was David Cassidy.
It is a source of constant sadness to his genuine fans that David has never been full appreciated and pigeonholed as a teen idol. My good friend Weronika wh has posted a response to your own post has written an amazing book – as yet unpublished- Don’t Call Me. …(…. A Teen Idol ).
It would be great if one day someone could organise a real tribute concert for David. -something with Wow factor but true to the man and superb performer he was. Many of us live in hope of that. Thank you again for your lovely post.

    • … But David HAS been fully appreciated – and not pigeonholed – by US – his discerning fans!!! Think about it: There are a lot of us! Sometimes, I think we female fans (especially) degrade ourselves; almost as though we are buying into the stereotypical view of David’s fans, apparently held by some music lovers and by some in the music business… The truth is that we are quite good at promoting David’s talent and achievements – even though he has gone…

  35. Yes Sian, I agree us fans, have promoted David’s talent and achievements, for me when I heard David Cassidy sing, for the first time for me hearing his voice,I wanted to hear more of his voice, was his talent that got my attention first, and the rest is history.

  36. Fantastic post Gary… thanks for taking the time and sharing your experience here about David´s music. He was so much more than a beautiful man, he was so talented too. He could sing any song, any kind of style and he sang them so amazingly.

Like Doreen said above, you should hear his late albums, especially the one dedicated to his father. His mature voice matches so very good with that jazz music. I have heard him singing “Sweet Little Angel” back in time but it sounded so much real in this EP.

I miss that great man and lovely soul. God bless him ♥

  37. Bravo..it makes me smile, so many memories. In the 70s in Poland, we didnt have The Partridge Family or Tiger Beat, no albums, nothing. Only sometimes at school someone had Bravo and let me have a look. That was enough to fell in love. I didn’t understand German (English either) but I knew that he was a huge star..And sometimes heard him on Radio Luxembourg, ..With internet, social media the world is a different place now..Young have no idea how we enjoyed every single pic or every song heard on the radio.
    Thank you Jane

  38. Sian, I agree that we, his fans, truly appreciate him. Sadly, I am not sure that time will be so appreciative. Elvis, The Beatles…… Will all be remembered because truly appreciated in their own time. I hope David will be appreciated in the future too but, sadly, I cannot help feeling that because he was pigeonholed by those not his fans in his own time the future may not appreciate him as much as he deserves. I very much hope my instincts are wrong.

    • I take a philosophical view of all this, but I’m not sure what I can say to cheer you up…

Whenever I hear astronomers discussing the possibility of a Black Hole engulfing Planet Earth… I find it easy to be philosophical!!! Siân xxx

  39. I just hope one day, especially the music industry wakes up, and puts David Cassidy somewhere on the musical map, and he has his honor as one outstanding artist and all his musical talent gets recognized. Now all that other talent David Cassidy had ,we are left with the most wonderful memories, of a singer, actor and so much more.

    • “But it was all a lie… Cassidy NEVER had dementia.”

Whilst lying and alcoholism go hand-in-hand I think it is quite possible that David did think he had inherited his mother’s dementia condition (at one point). He might – just as a bit of speculation from me – have drifted in and out of sensing what was causing his problems… Otherwise; an extremely good article and well-observed.

      • Yes, and – more speculation – I wonder how much of a role the cancellation of “Ruby and the Rockits” played in the tailspin that seemed to accelerate around that time. I recall his excitement about that show–it was his creative baby and had special personal significance as a family project. He had always been so good at bouncing back with renewed enthusiasm following previous disappointments and setbacks, but I would imagine this one was especially difficult to overcome.

  40. Dear Susan B.,
Thank you so much for posting the link to the article .
Moved me to tears. Helped me understand David and his passing. Also, my brother, a recovering alcoholic.
At the end of the article they quoted a line in “Junk Heart Blues” . ” I almost made it, didn’t I? ”
Oh, how we wish he had. He would still be here. God rest his soul.
    I’m in tears.
    Debbie

  41. Thankyou Susan for posting the article .poor David had some demons in his life .So very sad how he lost his life to Alcoholism. oh how we all miss him so very much .

  42. Thank you very much Gail for posting the video from the Glen Campbell variety Hour as I have only seen short clips from this show.Really enjoyed watching David singing and dancing to the fifties music .David makes me feel like dancing and singing .such a great performer .

  43. Recently “David Cassidy1970” has posted some episodes of “Man Undercover” on You Tube David Cassidy wrote that doing this series had destroyed him , emotionally and physically..yes, some episodes are better some worse, but it was quite good cop show, and David Cassidy was just fantastic. And it wasn’t easy to play. There was one episode where he played junkie, and he looked so realistic and also so vulnerable..and another about an arsonist..he rescued a girl from the fire..To play sth like that 2 years after Jack Cassidy’s death..Some copies are not very good but its very worth watching..

  44. Thank you for the update – Last Restort with Jonathan R. Such a great conversation. David Cassidy looked just sensational, and his smile and laugh..

  45. If you get the Decades channel (I have it on Spectrum but it’s also a digital local channel if you have cut the cord), they run Love Boat on Sunday evenings and I see that next Sunday, 7/13 at 5:30 Eastern, David’s episode is running.

  46. Thank you for the update, David Cassidy on the Radio Show in Toronto, December 8th 1983..I could listen to him for hours..even if they asked the same questions all over again..He was tired or maybe its just the quality of the recording …What a story about the girl in a hospital. Great to hear. Thank you again.

  47. “ ITILY “ CassidyRose ©®Love in Bloom
A special new Rose with its name was purchased and secured by private funding soon after David’s passing. It has been growing in a nursery tended and nurtured horticulturaly. Since the purchase it has had to be cultivated into commercial numbers and will after growers costs and marketing, eventually retail for sale . Initially it will go on sale in the UK . At present it is a yellow hybrid tea Rose, a highly fragrant Rose. A Rose named “ITILY” after the late David Cassidy’s first hit “I think I love you.” The Rose, the name are copyrighted and trademarked. It is our Rose and our tribute the CassidyRose ©® teams tribute to him . It will be ready for sale next year. As anyone experienced with horticulture will know a new rose takes time to be cultivated and grown . This requires time, dedication, diligence , care and Love. The Rose is a living thing of beauty and the process cannot be rushed. Nature takes time. The Rose will be a gift of beauty and a beautiful way to remember David 💕 Love in Bloom💕

  48. 21 st November 2017 .I cannot believe it is nearly 2 years since David passed away .thinking of David ,Beau ,Katie and all his family and friends .David will never be forgotten, he brought us so much love and light through his music .His memory will live on through his fans 1950 —forever

  49. Generous caring nature? Are you kidding me. I knew David well and I knew him for many years and he only gave in relation to what he got back. He was an alcoholic a chaste women all over the world even while he was married engage in all kind of illicit Endeavors such as a live p*** site from South America. He was a vicious gambler I don’t need to go on but really most people only saw what he wanted people to see. I loved him dearly but with limitations because we all knew the power of David scorned. May you rest in peace and finally have found peace.
