Hi David, I have just watched Entertainment Tonight and so glad you got your side of the story across, rather than everyone speculate and you are so right when you say you have a lot more to do and give, you look really good and healthy. I do feel guilty that as a teenager all the joy you brought to myself and millions of others around the world you were so lost.I know you never wanted to be a teen idol, but believe me there has been many since, but no one has had the staying power the way you have that is a very special gift. I will see you in Las Vegas I hope you do a meet and greet, that would be wonderful in the meantime take care as always sending you lots of love Yvonne from Scotland x
Good job, DC, on the Entertainment Tonight interview.
Said it before — BOY, can I relate to lights being too powerful these days.
Hmm. If the internet had been there all those years ago, fans would have been able to remind you how ingrained our connection to the music never left us. See fans sharing that feeling repeatedly on the site. It would have helped, I believe, in those confusing times for you.
Yet, all your struggles just make us relate even more together because we’ve all got issues — medical, at home, marriage, elderly parents, whatever. We don’t have to be a celebrity to remember — Everyone needs to feel they are serving a purpose and a reason for being here.
Hi David. I missed your show on ET last evening. I am a female your same age and have suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction and depression all my life. I now have 33 years of sobriety clean and sober. I understand and my heart goes out to all who are addicted. I have a nephew who committed suicide at the age of 23 because of his addiction and another nephew (his brother) who is currently still addicted at the age of 27 who has been through hell but cannot get clean. It’s a horrible disease and robs us of our life. I am happy now with the faith I have and my years of sobriety. I suffer from depression still and have to battle that from time to time.
I was so excited when I thought you were coming to Wilmington NC for a concert on January 28, My birthday is January 30 and that was going to be my birthday present to myself to go see you. Will you be coming here sometime? Love and God Bless you.
Ok. So I have never ever written a fan letter or in the internet age commented on any celebrity fan site. I do not get on the internet a lot. I don’t have cable…lol. I watch Netflix. Amazon Prime, etc. if I watch anything at all. As you get older you begin to appreciate the past. I lately have only been listening to music from the 70’s. I almost forgot about all these great things…music people, shows. In fact finding The Partridge Family on Amazon got the ball rolling down memory lane! That said, I am a fan of David and his music and most of all his tenacity. I admire how he never gives up and I am so glad he went on tv and told his side of this story. I don’t know him and I’ve never been to a concert (mainly because I was only 6 when the partridge family started! and then had a family to raise so I was side tracked for a bit?. So I made a bucket list of things I would love to do and in February 2017 (in Santa Barbara), I am going to my first David Cassidy concert?. I am looking forward not only to the music, but the great stories. I have heard from many what a great storyteller David Cassidy is. So the reason I felt compelled to comment is after finding this site and seeing the ET segment and all that he has been through and survived…I wanted to offer encouragement to keep on your path. You are doing great it seems. I wish nothing but the best for you and those you love. God bless?

watched the interview on your facebook page, when attending any artists concerts if it states no lights or photography then your wishes have to be respected, you have had problems any many eye surgeries must be painful, I have personally cut down my use of computers as they are not healthy for the eyes, with everything thing you have been through in the past few years you have come out on tops, what would my life have been without you and your music to give me moments of absolute pleasure, what would life be like without entertainment, very dull I imagine, thank you for the songs david and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, when I listen to your albums lie back and relax the world and all its problems , disappear, and when a singer can do that, you have a true gift, which is special, and not many do, some artists fall by the wayside, but you never have, you have bounced back and remained positive, us fans are here if you ever feel down, the winter months can be a dark place for many, my best wishes to you always
I am heart sick about missing the interview
with David on Entertainment Tonight. I
check the web sight every day, and the one
day I don’t check it was Thursday Nov. 3rd
was the media alert about David being on
Entertainment Tonight on Friday Nov. 4th.
I read all 7 comments about the interview,
and it was heart felt. David Cassidy you
are loved by many people.
I was at the Count Basie Theatre concert and someone was using the light to record a video. You asked the person to shut it off because of your eye condition and they did. He did it again and finally got the point that this was more than a distraction for you, I am sorry that the media only focuses on the negative and glad that you were given the opportunity to explain your reaction to the light. They should report the fact that you are an amazing entertainer. I feel badly about what happened to you with you rise and fall to fame. We were all just kids and didn’t realize what was happening in your life. You are a pop icon that survived! You still have adorning fans who support you. I am sorry for your troubles. I pray for your sobriety and good health. God bless you-Ellen
I have had three eye injuries in the same eye. The first eye injury took away my good vision. I will never see normally again. One thing I know is the intense pain from having these eye injuries. I also experienced, after the eye healed as best it could, the incredible sensitivity to light of any kind. Just remember David, that you are not alone. There will always be a fan who will understand a bit of your fears, your hurts and even your challenges to performing. “You’ll Never Walk Alone” Hang in there David! It’s because God gave you such a big heart that you experience things more intensely. Remember too, each and every day, the following question : David, do you know how much you are worth? You are worth more than the money that you receive or the things that you possess. Your grandparents even knew that. I even know that! So don’t you ever forget that.
