After reading the messages sent to him over the last few days, David sends this message to his fans:
I will always be eternally grateful for the love and support you’ve shown me. I still love very much to play and perform live. But it’s much more difficult for me now.
I’m not going to vanish or disappear forever. I’ll be able to communicate much more through my website and my Facebook page. As you can imagine this has been truthfully THE MOST DIFFICULT DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.
I’m eternally grateful to each and every single one of you.
I’m going to play live, everywhere around North America, through 2017. I hope you will find a way to come and be part of my celebration!

You will always be a part of us. XO

Hope you come to New York specifically the Long island of the area before you retire this year. Thank you for sharing your music with us all these years .
Be well ?
This is why we love you David you read all our comments and you come back and you tell us how much you love us and that you’re not really gone. That’s so assuring. I honestly felt that you would be just going to ride away in the fog and we’d never see you again and I was finding that very hard to tolerated
Dear David,
I just read your February 7th post to your fans.
You have touched my heart forever! You have
just confirmed that you really do read all your
fans comments. Please always remember that
the retirement is not the end of your career,
it is the beginning of a new life. I realize that
making the decision to retire has been the
hardest decision you have ever had to make
in your life. But it is the best decision you have
ever made! You will finally get to focus on your
self! I thank God for creating you David! You
have brought so much immense joy into so many
people’s lives! You are so grounded, so down to
earth, so humble, and genuine ! I retired 2 years
ago, and I love my retirement. David you are
going to find in your retirement that you are
going to be able to do things you have never
been able to do before, because you didn’t
have the time. Time will be on your side!
David Bruce Cassidy, thank you sweet man!
Just beautiful…..
I’m sure this decision was a difficult one but I know you will enjoy retirement. You’ve worked hard over the years and you deserve to take time for yourself. I’m glad you will be doing some more shows this year to give all of us a chance to say goodbye. I sure hope you will do another show in Texas before you leave. I’d love to see you one more time. God bless!

Hi David,
I too would like to echo what Glyn said, a very big thank you for everything you have done. I too know that deep down that this will be the end of you touring both in America and anywhere else, but I like Glyn am very grateful for all the times I have seen you in concert especially on your birthday and, I yelled out “We love you David”. I hope that whatever you decide to do in the future I hope you will find happiness and all the best in what you decide to do. I hope that one day I will get to see you again someday.
All the best

I love you David with all of my heart, and I hope and I pray to one day meet you. I was 13 when I went to see you at Madison Sq Garden, March 11, 1972. It was mom’s birthday and I got the present 🙂 .. Today it’s mom that has dementia and I am her only daughter I take care of her 24/7 or I’d be at one of your shows yesterday. Somehow, someway, I know in my heart that my lifelong dream of meeting you one day & taking that picture beside you, will come true. I’ve asked God to keep you always happy and always healthy. God bless you David, do what you must do. No matter what , I’m with you all the way. My faith in you is tremendous. <3 Please take care of yourself and hopefully one day I'll be able to fly down to where you're at and see you at last. Love you always, (Melody Martin) aka Melissa Martin xx
Dear David
Thank you for your above message and saying that you will stay in touch after you retire. I’m very grateful to have had your music in my life as I was growing up and you’ve always been a part of my life. Your music has been comforting to me at difficult times in my life, and most recently when my father died of Alzheimers four months ago at the age of 91 and my brother-in-law’s untimely death almost two weeks ago of cancer at the age of 49 . I also thought of you and your mum at this time. I know you’ll make the most of your retirement which is so well deserved. Thank you David for what you’ve given me and all your fans. There’s only one you. I hope you’re feeling better now and look forward to receiving your future posts on this site. YOU HAVE MADE MY LIFE and I’ll be eternally grateful.
Sending all my love to you
Sandra

P.S. I wish so much that I could see you this year but am unable to, living in Australia but I’ll be thinking of you and your upcoming concerts this year. I love you David very much.

Thank you David for your messages, I will not be able to see you in Concert as I live in the U.K. But I have beautiful memories of you when you came to the UK to tour. I have met you a few times in person which I will never forget. I have been a fan since the Partridge Family, and I will continue to be so.
I hope you have a wonderful time when you stop touring and enjoy yourself just as much as you enjoy doing concerts. I wish you well David and I will always love you.
Take Care my sweetie love Catherineâ¤â¤

And now we have to say goodbye…. Though I understand and respect your reasons, I am definitely not good at that… This must be so hard for you too….
Think of all that we’ve been through

I was very lucky to have been to your concerts, first in 1972 in Lincoln NE, then last few years Osceola, IA, Omaha, NE and last year Branson,MO. Great shows and memories. You will love retirement! Don’t forget, you can still produce more music tracks for us like your Christmas release. Love you forever. God bless! Julie
Dear David–enjoy your life–hope you are still breeding and racing your horses. My hope for you is that some day you will have a KY Derby winner! Keep recording please. I must say I play your Romance CD all the time–those songs are awesome!!! Please consider recording more songs like these, and please consider recording Davy’s Day Dream Believer–you did a great job with this song in Hartford CT last year–best wishes, and Happy Trails—-Denise
So do you plan to finish your recording of songs your Dad taught you after you stop doing concerts?
Either way hope you enjoy retirement.

Dear David,
You made a good dicision to retire. you deserve it after so many years of hard work.
For me as a fan however, it’s a disappointment. You mean a lot to me.
I had the pleasure to see you in concert five times. And once a picture together with you was a dream come true.
Thank you for the happy memories.
Thank you for the great music that I will continue to listen.
I wish you a lot of beautiful, healthy years.
Don’t forget to keep in touch with us.
Love you forever.

Dear David,
i do not had the opportunity to see you in concert in the seventies.
So i had to wait until 2001 to see my first concert of you at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, UK.
Since this day i was infected, like i told you at the Isle of Wight. Haha.
In the meantine i attended about 90 D.C.concerts ( including the 3 concerts next Weekend)..
So let`s celebrate and spend a fantastic time together in Las Vegas, Agoura Hills and Santa Barbara.
I Think i love you
Marina, Berlin,Germany
Thank you David for all the happiness you have given us over the years.
From my teenage days of playing your records repeatably to seeing you live over the decades since ’73 you have been part of my life.
Time now to take things easier and look after yourself.
Love and best wishes for the next stage of your life. xx
David Cassidy fever is catchy. I don’t know what it is that David creates, but you just get happy, feel happy and look happy. What a remarkable gesture for David to reassure us again. We all are in for David’s CELEBRATION. Each of us have a special memory of you in our own way. You made music for us that has been played over and over. Your voice is special and a gift. You just want to hear more than one song. Home is where the heart is, Is one of my favorite albums, thank you for that album. When your concert tour stops, we can still acquire your music. This celebration with David and all the fans is going to be a memory mark. So much fun. Hi Felicia , from new friend thanks to David. Talk soon. To Marina ,you saw David 90times. WOW. LUCKY YOU. That’s great. What was your favorite concert? This is going to be a time that David and fans have together, with lasting memories to cherish forever.
I find myself in a very privelege position as in 1973, at just turning 14 years old a few days before and coming from Scotland my dad driving from Glasgow to Manchester to enable me to see DAVID in concert at Belle Vue in Manchester,, the following year in Glasgow, years past, no social media then,my hero appeared on British TV promoting his new single The Last Kiss, and U.K. Tour , at this point in my life I am pregnant with my beautiful daughter( who is also a great fan of David,s) anyway got to see David in Edinburgh October that year, my daughter 6 weeks old, the next time I saw David was in Blood Brothers January 1996 in London, and every other time David came to the UK for me personally I cannot pick a favourite concert for each and every on holds a special memory.I really need to thank my wonderful husband who with whom Has been part of my live since 1975 , and as a Birthday present last March took me to New York , and took me to see David at BB Kings, the whole journey through David,s career has been so special ,YOUR ARE SUCH A SPECIAL HUMAN BEING THANKS FOR THE JOURNEY LOTS OF LOVE FOREVER X Yvonne.
That is a lovely tribute!

Bittersweet, but everyone deserves to retire at some point. Will you still be doing concerts closer to your home in South Florida? If so, maybe I’ll see you there sometime.

Hi Felicia, you made my day. Thank you for that. I was worried about you and the snow your way. I think David will always be there for us fans, somehow someway, and so kind of him to reassure us. It was1981 when I seen David perform live in theatre. His hair was short and I liked it,David looks the same to me,I saw him in June last year concert. David Cassidy we just love you for the person you are and one and only one of the best to represent a era of my time and what’s to come. Take it all in, it’s your time to enjoy. Hi to you Yvonne, I’m getting excited for you. Maybe someday all us fans will meet. Everyone have a great week, and David have a good time.
Dear David,
All I can say is thank you – you were the bright spot in an otherwise dark childhood, as many have told you. I’ll never forget the joy and hope you gave me and the role you played in my life, unbeknownst to you. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been recognized to the extent you should have, for the great talent you are, but know that some of us have always seen it.
You’ve had a big life and big career and you deserve a good rest. May God bless you always.
If anyone here is going to Agoura Hills to see David, please let me know. Would love to meet up!

Catherines
Hello David I couldn’t believe it when I read of your retirement . I have loved you for so
many years! I can’t believe so much time has past. But you deserve to enjoy yourself.
You have worked so hard sharing yourself with all of us for so long.
I had gone to a concert of yours at Westbury Music Fair back in March 22/13 and I sat in
the 5th row waving one of your album cover’s . You pointed right at me (at least that’s how
I felt) in my heart! It was such a memorable night for me along with other concerts of yours.
God bless you for the loving person you are David. You will always have a place in my
heart! I can’t wait to see you again real soon.
Hi Denice!
I received your letter and photos today!

Hi Denice!
I read your letter. I really enjoyed it. I am
glad you got my letter. I guess it is your
turn to answer my letter. I am so excited
for my sisters going to David’s concert
in Agoura Hills, California on February 18th.
I will tell you all about the concert after
they have gone to it! To David Cassidy
thank you for being so real, so honest,
so genuine. Thank you for caring about
and loving your fans!
Hi Felicia, thinking of you, today,we have almost 70degree weather and sun all day, but my mind been out west, wishing I was at David’s concerts. Hope your sisters are having great time and have the memory of David’s concert, this weekend and I’m sure they tell you all about it. David is the best. You are a great fan of David’s,and I’m a great fan also. We became friends thanks to David Cassidy. I can’t believe all the years David been performing . We have loved his work.
Hi Denice!
Just read your last post. This is really it,
David’s last California concert. To think I was
invited to the concert tonight , and I can’t go!
That is life! My kitty is priority! I had no one
to take care of her. Instead I am going to my
Alanon meeting tonight. Denice between the
both of us combined we have 14 post. I think
that is so neat. You have your self a wonderful
Saturday evening! Your cats are beautiful!
Your horse is a real sweetheart! Take care!
Hi Felicia, I am thinking the same, but look at it this way,you were suppose to go,and you are the best mom to your cat that needs you. Your sisters are there at least to share the experience with you. Remember we became friends thanks to David, I missed a DC concert in my hometown , when my mom was ill. It was up by lake Erie islands, to this day I feel bad I could not go. But I do have the best ever memories of David in Theater also concerts. So I hold those memories in my heart, and David just doesn’t know what it meant to me. I never shared that story. You are a true friend, and I did see my horse today. I love him. So for now, David’s performing for all the other fans,I wish them a time of there life, and David a very happy weekend that will hold memories for you, and to your great band, that has been there for you, and us fans. Love you guys.
David Cassidy needs his privacy! The man has
worked really hard all his life. I hope he decides
to retire immediately. David do the concert in
Santa Barbara, and just walk away for good!
You need to think about your health. I love you
unconditionally. Do what is best for you! You
are truly loved! Take an early retirement!
David take care of yourself! God bless you man!
Hi Felicia, what happened, why does David need to retire immediately. I’m hoping everything is going good. Someone tell me something. Yvonne hi, how was your time at David’s Vegas concert? David was always overworked. He gave up his early years to be a performer. What a ride it’s been for David and the fans. Some day someway, there will be a understanding of the great person David Cassidy was and is.Felicia is everything alright, I know you wanted to be at David’s concert. You lucky girl you got to see him in 1972. I was poor than,no-one would take me.But 1981 was my lucky year. To see David for the first time. David well beenin is the most important. Felicia you been a good friend in the short-time we knew eachother. David knows you are a great person and a great fan.
Dearest David,. You will always be one of the sweetest parts of my life since I was 13 years old and 30 years have passed since I saw you in Cardiff, Wales ! Only one concert for me but to be treasured forever!
I doubt very much now that I can be at one of your final shows but I want to thank you so very much for all the happiness and joy you have given us all throughout your amazing career!
You are unique and I will always love you!
My mom likes you a lot too!
I sure am enjoying your CDs these days
Have a wonderful retirement David and do take very good care of yourself
Forever love
Julie in Germany
Dear David,
First, thank you sincerely for you’re contribution to my wholesome childhood. I feel quite unoriginal and ordinary to admit I had a crush on you as a youngster, and recall writing “I love David” in the snow. Today, I’m much older, and the gap between who I dreamed of becoming, verses where I actually am, seems to be wider than the Grand Canyon. Heartbreak, poor choices, and regrettable decisions, have certainly compromised who I was meant to be. But we mustn’t live in regret. My wish for you, is for you to enjoy the best of health, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Take care of you and get the help you need to be well. With love and appreciation from someone who loved you so long ago…and who still wishes for you, from the most human level, the very best. <3
Denice I read all your post. You captured everything I was going
I was going to talk about. So we have a mutual
agreement that David is going to be okay! We as
loyal fans can go forward ! One sister enjoyed the
show at Agoura Hills on Saturday, she said David
did a fabulous job. He took the time to talk to his
fans between songs. My other sister walked out
half way through the show. I agree with you
Denice what is the big deal because he fell
off the stage. We are all human. Where is the
compassion? I am more calmer today. Like you
said David will be home in Florida, and everybody
can regroup. Denice please tell me you are feeling
better. David Cassidy fans unite! We love you
David! We love you unconditionally!
Love you sweetheart! Take care & stay well! <333 â€
Good morning to all especially you David, Felicia I’m glad you agree with me. Like I said I got many pictures with David through the years, those were rough years also. David meet my cute 10 year old brother, helped his childhood. A concert is a concert, things happen, David you are a Cassidy, and the one and only David Cassidy. Please reconsider, don’t let it end this way. Comeback for the final shows and showoff that special David Cassidy that you are. You are not a quitter.
Good Morning From Massachusetts!
I have posted here before but I am so sad today. I actually did my whole workout at the gym to the 1st partridge family album. It is truly great music. anyway….
I have been a fan since I was 9. I love that I got a chance to see David in concert 11 times and I will be seeing him I guess for the very last time in Rhode island March 3. Since 2010 the shows have been ok.(The Rolling Stones aren’t as great as they were in 1975 either) It was just fun to see him again, Last March at Mohegan Sun, he seems so much better. It was great fun. I hope That the show in two weeks will simply be a fun show. I wish David the best. There is no other star that has given me so many memories whether it was running to the corner store to get 16 Magazine, writing our own PF scripts, making a bus out of plywood and a baby stroller. pretending to be his girlfriend, begging to go see him in the 1970s but were too young. I finally got to see him a few times in the 1990s and then went to Vegas 2x for EFX and Copacabana. He was truly great still. I am sorry that he struggles with so many issues. (we all have something) I wish him the best. I hope he is not drinking. Alcoholism sucks. I hope all the critics are wrong.
DAVID – I hope you live a long and peaceful life. Take comfort in knowing how many people you made happy. Corny lyrics and all ( I love them, not corny to me). Take pride in what a talent you are. I have piles of memories and memorabilia to see me through after your last show. You are an entertainer and I am simply a fan. Thank you again and again. I hope you do read these posts. Ill see you at the show.
Sandra from Pembroke

I want to tell you about blueberry leaf extract helps with dementia. It’s not expensive
And it comes in,a tincture or pills.
Saw your note about the supplement. I love when we share holistic helps to our medical stuff. Thanks.
To all the fans of David Cassidy.
Due to recent sad news about the suffering that afflicts him, he needs more of all our support and our love.
Therefore, I invite you all to show David that he is not alone, sending messages and love cards to his facebook and his website, he needs us at the moment and we must let him know that we support and love him.
We can all make cards, or videos, or photos, or solidarity phrases, and publish them in all the groups and pages that can be, so that he knows that we are all with him
Mr. Cassidy, Just wanted to say “Thank you” for all the media and entertainment memories you gave us and me. I know you faced and endure many personal and career challenges that were/are most undeserving. Loved ‘The Partridge Family,’ one of my first 45s was “Cherish,” and saw you in Peachtree City, Ga. about 15 years ago. Please take care of yourself and know that many wish you and your family well.
David,
Loved your music when I was young and the memories it brings when I hear it again today always brings a smile to my face. You will never be alone in this fight. So many are pulling for you and support you.
I agree with Denice Kirth I can’t post
on this web site for a while either.
I just heard some heart breaking
news. I have to process this information.
David I will pray for you. I will love you
forever and a day! What you have
accomplished in your life time is beyond

I will read the fans post everyday. I just
can’t post anymore for a while . I need time
to learn to live with the news I heard
tonight. David Cassidy May God bless you!
And may he keep you in his tender care.
To Patricia Flores , I read your post and it
touched my heart! I said I was not going
to comment anymore. What you said has
changed my mind. You said all the fans
should support David. David Cassidy
fans unite! We love you David!
Praying for you and hope you feel the love of your fans. People truly care about you and want to see you happy and healthy. I’ve been praying all day and trust that God will bring comfort to you. Hold on to that. You’ve inspired so many people – now let them inspire you for a bit. Much love â¤ï¸
Dear David
I feel so sad for the suffering that you are enduring and want you to know that I always have and will support and love you 100%. The most important thing now is to look after yourself no matter what. Words cannot describe what you have meant to me for the past 47 years. You’ve been the only love of my life. Enjoy your life to the fullest, you deserve it. You’ve given everything to your fans all these years. I love you David so much.

We want to help. Please check out AFFRMTIVhealth.com. We deliver a science based program showing great results improving cognitive health in people suffering from early stage dementia. Please let us try. I was a huge fan and I would really like the opportunity to give something back. David, let’s figure out if you are a good candidate.
You know from having this horrible disease in your family the road ahead is not going to be easy. Surround yourself with a strong support system & “live for this day”…live in the present. Your fans are all right by your side. Should you ever want to talk the Alzheimer’s Association has a toll free number: 800-272-3900…24/7 someone will be there to speak with confidentially. Thank you for all you’ve given…it’s now your time to take care of you!
David: I fell in love with you when I was 15. You will always be in my heart. More importantly, you have demonstrated what a quality human being you are throughout your life – helping those around you. You were there for Danny B. when he needed you, your brothers . . . you have a good heart although you don’t take care of yourself. Be well and be happy. That’s all any fan can ask of you.
Pam
I’m devastated, David, you’ve been the one most influential person in my entire life. I love you so much. I’m speechless at the news I’ve heard. I have no words right now, I’m in shock.. please know i love you.. forever.

Just read about your newest trouble on Twitter (haven’t been here for a while) and want to wish you all the best for dealing with it. Hope you will find all the help and support you’ll need. Won’t forget you and want to mention once more how much I appreciated your autobiography.
As you probably figured out by now, a lot of us fans really care about you and your health. Sadly, i’ve never seen you perform live and I’ve been a fan almost my whole life (42/50 yrs) but it’s better you be happy and healthy. I see a lot of messages from people who are sad (or “devastated” by your retirement.. but I got a feeling this is a good thing. You’ve given us so much joy and laughter through your art. Now is your time. Every ending is just another beginning in disguise. Love u Bro!
Dear David, I have just heard the news via my local news bulletins here in Melbourne, Australia of your dementia diagnosis! I am so sorry to hear your news. I have been a fan since the tender age of 13, you were my first love, (laughs), and I will never forget and still cherish the email you sent back in 2000 when you wrote to me when my own dear son was gravely ill, (he eventually passed away in 2014). Your kindness made a very difficult time a whole lot brighter. I had the privilege of meeting you to thank you two years later at Melbourne airport, when you toured in November 2002. I don’t know what else to say except for I send my love and prayers, David.
Dear David
I’ve just read your sad news and I wanted to say that I’m so sorry and I admire your courage. I hope that your days are filled with happy things and lots of love and you are surrounded by those who care for you. Thank you for all the good times you’ve give me. Love Caroline x
Hi David.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I knew you back in the 90s. I just wanted to say hi and send best wishes and prayers. My mom passed with mixed dementia. I took care of her til she passed away peacefully at home. There are many beautiful moments yet to experience and my best words of advice are to not be fearful. Spend time with the ones you love. Take things day by day. I remember you with so much love of life. You are so compassionate and talented. God bless you and your family. The cure for this is so close don’t ever give up hope. I am a volunteer and advocate for Alzheimers.org and know for a fact we are so close to finding a cure.
Love and blessings to you
Just sending my love and thinking of you David, I really don’t know what else to say!
My continued love and support.

Dear David, heard the news today that you are suffering from dementia. I live in Australia and remember your 1974 tour when I was only 9 years old. My parents would not let me attend as Iw as too young but I was a big Partridge Family fan and loved your music. I still do and want to just say thanks for the great memories, great music and being part of my childhood memories. I wish you the very best in your battle with this disease. You are not alone and your fans will always be with you. Stay strong and never stop fighting. Best wishes Vic

Long Island, N.Y.
Seems like yesterday that I looked forward to watching the Partridge Family on Friday Nights. You brought so many, many wonderful childhood memories I will always treasure. I wish you peace and happiness.
Medical conditions are what we have — NOT what we ARE as a person.
Dear David, our Dear David and all your fans, This is not the first mountain we climbed with you it’s the highest. I have come to terms, that worry and being upset is not the answer, I am going to stay strong like you did all the years for us fans. We have to support you and take one day at a time. I read your comments about losing someone you love to dementia, and how painful that loss is. Thank you for sharing such a personal side of your life with us, because that helps those of us who deal with the same thing every day. You will never fade away or disappear because you have etched a permanent legacy in the minds and hearts of millions. I wish you joy each day and happiness ahead.
Lots & lots of hugs & prayers to you ALWAYS, sweetheart! David, you KNOW we <333 you! xoxo â€
Whatever health issues you have please, please PLEASE consider the natural route to addressing them. The body can heal itself – ALWAYS – if given the right nutrients. Prescription drugs treat symptoms, not the underlying cause, and will never heal.
Be healthy always.
Hang in there, David! We love you every bit as much now as back then! Who you are is awesome and a blessing!! Enjoy your life, that’s what I want for you, just enjoy every day!
Dear David,
Thank you for all the wonderful memories and music. You were my first love at age 14! Me along with all teenage girls world wide feel in love with the boy with the most beautiful eyes and hair ever! I was fortunate enough to go to 2 of your concerts. For a 15 year old it was a dream come true. I’ll cherish those sweet memories forever.
I am deeply saddened by this news of your health. You will be in my prayers. Now go and rest and and enjoy your life,David. You most certainly have earned it.
Sending you best wishes for a troubled time. Love is the only constant in life, and you are beloved by many!
Love you! Thank you for being you — & for all your music! It has meant the world to me!
You are in my prayers!

I know all about it I work at a nursing home as a CNA for 12 yrs I know So am sending you lots of hugs you are in my prayers. Your were my first love I had your picture all over my walls and all of your albums. Love Deborah
I was shocked and saddened to hear that my teenage heartthrob has been stricken with this disease. My father passed from Alzheimer’s complications and my 88 yr old mom has dementia. I don’t know what that means for me or my brother but we move forward in the hopes of a cure.
I’m glad you’re taking time off to tend to your health. Please seek as much help as needed and please don’t try to go it alone. You know it’s a long road with many twists and turns. It’s better to travel with those close to you.
I’ll keep you in my prayers.
David,
I just wanted to thank you for the happiest times of my childhood. I, like millions of other girls around the world was so deeply in love with you! LOL I used to get into heated fights with my friends because they didn’t believe me when I said I was going to marry you someday. Guess they were right but that’s beside the point. You are and always have been such a beautiful and courageous man. I know how hard and how much strength it must have taken you to confront your addiction and reveal your battle with dementia. Thank you for thinking enough of us as your fans to share your personal struggles with us. We will always be here for you with our love and our support and wish you nothing but the best always. Never give up! Love you!
I was shocked this morning, yours was the first concert I saw along with regularly watching the Partridge family. I was tempted to see you again a couple of years ago but it didn’t work out. I don’t usually comment but felt the need, take care and best wishes always!!!
Dear Mr. Cassidy,
I’ve never written a “fan mail” type letter/email before but today when I read that you’re facing a serious health issue, I wanted to stop by to send my support.
I was just starting high school when the “The Partridge Family” TV show started on ABC. I remember it well because it 1) took my mind of my troubles and 2) it always left me with a smile on my face. Several of the issues the kids in the show faced, I was dealing with too and it made my teenage angst seem more bearable knowing I wasn’t alone. It was a sweet show and I have very fond memories you and your TV family.
When I got out of high school I joined the military and served as a medic. Due to my time as a med tech I can tell you this much for sure, the changes in medicine that have occurred over the last 40 years can NOT be overstated! The changes have been MASSIVE! We are light years ahead of where we were even twenty years ago in the treatment of many health issues (dementia being one of them). There are numerous treatments for dementia that didn’t exist even five – ten years ago. They’re finding more therapies and treatments for dementia with every passing day.
I realize that you probably know all of this BUT I wanted to stop by and encourage you to NEVER give in to despair.
Despair is the soul killer.
Try to stay positive. There’s not enough I can say about how important optimism is for people with a chronic illness. I’ve seen amazing results when patients remained, doggedly, optimistic.
Be well and take care and know that your life has affected a huge amount of people.
You must know this but in case you don’t, many of us who grew up with your songs and “The Partridge Family” TV show view you as a type of extended family member. As such you are very loved and by many, many people.
My fondest thoughts and best wishes,
Chris Wolfe
Amenâ¤
Peace and Love to you as you travel this bumpy road of life. You will always have a little piece of my 70s heart.

Holding you in the Light and in my heart. Nothing could ever diminish how special you are. Takes courage to share a harsh diagnosis with the public but it multiplies the good thoughts & heartfelt prayers directed toward you. The only thing that remains true about any of us over time is the essence of who we are: Love. Love never to be minimized, undermined or erased. Love that endures time’s challenges, life’s mysteries and ever-altering circumstances. Persistent, unconditional, constant. An ever-present bridge to connect us. Never underestimate the power of such Love and how many hearts treasure you. In every way that counts you remain strong, vital, youthful, whole and healthy. Inimitable. Irreplaceable. Cherished. Hold on to that truth and be as kind to yourself as you’ve always been to your fans. Wish you everything good and love you forever like it’s 1972!

I read all 86 comments on David’s blog! All I can
say is David Cassidy fans are loyal and
supportive. No matter what the media says about
David I don’t believe a word of it. Until David
Cassidy makes a statement that is when the
truth will come out. I respect his privacy! Any
body reading this post if you have an ounce of
compassion you will respect David’s privacy!
David it is time for you to think of yourself
and your welfare. All your fans truly care
about you and really do love you!
We have loved you since we were teens and now age is catching up with all of us. Please know that you are in my prayers and thank you for the many years of entertainment. Please take care of yourself.
The fans want to see you but your true fans want you to take care of yourself first.
You are such a strong and courageous person and I hoping that your will look into all different kinds of help for your dementia . Don’t rule out functional medicine, holistic medicine, or naturalpathic medicine. There is a lot of help out there and you deserve the best. I will always love you David…and I will pray for your health and happiness.
David, stay strong and get on the internet and do your own research! Check out all of your options for care, from Dr. Daniel Amen, the most reknown neurologists in the world, to clinical trials, etc. Research as if you were researching thoroughbreds. Try to keep stress at bay and make sure you don’t have a thyroid (or other) issue that is mimicking dementia. Be proactive and engaged in your own treatment. We’re all here for you, rooting you on!!! YOU ARE SO VERY LOVED! 🙂 (Lydia del Valle Caldwell here.)
DAVID,
You need to look into HBOT therapy. Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber. Amazing results for people with brain issues. Also curcumin has been shown to help with dementia and memory problems. These are natural therapies that mainstream medicine is not all that interested in.
Sending positive thoughts and healing energy to you David. Hold your head high and know that there are so many that are here to support you on this difficult journey. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.. ?
Thinking of you and your struggle and wanting the best for you. You brought tons of love to our lives and always made us happy when we heard and still hear your music. All these years later I still cannot help but smile thinking of anything related to you. Thank you for all you gave us David. I am 4ever grateful there is a ‘YOU’ in this world.
Sending you my thoughts and prayers David.
Dear David
Just adding to my above message to you, you’ve been very courageous in disclosing your health problems and you are the most beautiful and genuine person. You’ve given so much and don’t deserve this and I wish there was something I could do to alleviate your suffering. You’ve left an indelible imprint on me which will be there forever. I’m continually thinking about you and praying for you. I hope you are kind to yourself and never give up.
All my love and prayers to you

I’m sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Thank you for all you have done over these years. I will never forget these and I will never forget you and I will love you always.
Take care and I send you a big hug

Dearest David, We love you so much. Thank you for treating us like family and sharing with us your private life. I know it isnt your style to tell all but each word you speak we take to our hearts. Each joy and sorrow you share with us we in kind feel the same. Our love with be with you always today and forever.
Dearest David,
Picture this… it’s a Friday night inApril, 1971. An eight year old girl has arrived at a hotel after a flight from Boston to Fort Lauderdale and is promptly put to bed. She’s told to go to sleep, no peeking. But, the TV is on and there is a show she’s never seen before with this dreamy guy, a family and music! The eight year old had her first crush!
After that, every Friday night she watches The Partridge Family in her Mother’s bedroom and jumps on the bed and sings C’mon Get Happy. Then Santa brings her her first record player and all of the albums. Love!
The girl grows up, always following along with that dreamy guy’s career. A thirty year old sees him at the Carefree Theater after Lyin’ to Myself is released. Excellent show and seeing Danny Bonaduce open.
Later a show at the Kravitz, sitting in the third row aisle and a wink and a finger point for singing along to Summer Love.
Seeing Blood Brothers at the Jackie Gleason, her first Broadway show.
And a true favorite, an appearance at Gulf Stream Racetrack on her 40th birthday. Imagine the surprise seeing Dave Madden sitting in the audience.
David, that eight year old girl is me… two days away from turning 54 years. How the time flies.
Thank you for the music and being such a huge part of my life and it’s soundtrack.
No matter the circumstances, you have more than earned the right to a new peaceful and enjoyable chapter in your life.
Maybe I’ll have the good fortune of running into on a beach somewhere nearby, still I’m Lauderdale after all these years.
Peace and love, always. Glynnis.
Dear David, You are in my thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. You have brought so much joy and entertainment into my life, seeing you in concert over all these years has been a pleasure. Every time I see you it brings back happy memories of my teen years watching the Partridge Family. Please know how much you mean to your fans and always will
With love and prayers
Linda U from Long Island

I LOVE YOU DAVID…FOR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!<3
Dear David,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have always been a fan, and always will be! Thank you for all you’ve given to everyone, me included, by sharing your talent and personal story with us. Hearing your voice always brings back happy memories of my teen years.
Dear David, I just wanted to give you an encouraging message here. But if you ever feel angry about your diagnosis, just get angry at heredity. I was a senior in high school and it was on the day of my graduation, when we learned that my father ( only 59 years old) had dementia. My dad lived to be 87 years old. I saw how saddened you were with your mother’s dementia. But please know that the soul is never diseased and the soul is what makes the person the beautiful person that the person is inside. While the body may have issues, the person inside remains intact. Your mother knew you were there with her all that time even though her body would not allow her to communicate to you her love for you and her gratefulness that you were there for her up until she passed away. My dad needed supports in place probably more towards turning 75. But you can still be fully in control of how this plays out. I think the worst thing to do is to “throw in the towel ” or to allow yourself to become really depressed. The more you stay plugged in to the world around you the better you will be. Don’t throw away the guitar or your singing voice. Those things you love will keep you connected and keep your brain active and you will be fine. It’s time to plug into the healthy foods, the Naturopaths of the world who know what you need to keep your memory strong. Memory loss is normal as we age. I will never forget my dad in a restaurant with me at 80 years old. He had stopped talking completely and the waiter brought ice cream to the table. I told my friend, my dad loves ice cream. His eyes got big and he grabbed a spoon and said, “That’s right I do love ice cream” and he took two huge bites. I had concluded that my dad would never speak again and all was lost with his dementia but I kept him involved everyday in activities. He had always liked math and writing in French. I gave him a pencil or pen and gave him problems or puzzles to do and that kept his mind sharp. He had moments where all of a sudden his brain was firing away with pearls of wisdom. And in the later stages ,I kept him active with other activities. My brother knew my dad liked to soak his body in the warm bath and my brother stepped in to give my dad baths. All of a sudden my dad said, Thank you!” and said my brother’s name with the thank you. So, we knew my dad was still knowing who family was, it was his body that was not cooperating with him to allow him to communicate back always. I firmly believe that the more you stay active and tuned in you will be encouraged that this “dementia” has not gotten the best of you. I am adding you to the top of my prayer list again. Be encouraged that you have so many people lifting you up at this time and probably many out there that have gone through this disease with family members and know that there are still way more good days to come your way. Enjoy the fresh air! Enjoy the musical instruments, enjoy talking to people and stay connected with people and you will find your brain will be happier when you stay connected. The dark places you have taken yourself to, only serves to kill the brain cells and brain function and it will rob you of so much joy. David, you deserve joy. You are a really good person and a really strong person too.
Love always xxxx
Dear David, May God bless you while you are going down this most difficult road. You will be forever in my prayers. I have loved you for these past 50 years, saw you in concert when I was 17. You bring much happiness into people’s lives.
Good morning, I got to talk to my brother, this morning. When he was 10 he got to meet David. Let me say this they both have suits on a they both have the biggest smiles. That year was 1984. So back to this morning, I guess he said something that made me laugh, cause he has a edge to him, but it made sense As I told him about David issue, I hope David you do get to read this, my brother said to me what do you think we go through life maintance free. We can’t go back to 1984, we have to work on today.
Hi David
Your concert was my very first, Perth Australia (WACA) March 15 1974 and had the privilege again 28 years later in Perth Australia 2002. Thank you for being you and giving millions of fans are truly beautiful start into the music scene.

Wishing you all the best for the future including good health. I have many of your CDs which I enjoy listening to immensely. I have never seen you in concert but don’t give up and disappear from view!
Dear David. Wishing you so many many good wishes and heartfelt thanks for the wonderful music and amazing teenage years – you gave me. We love you very dearly!
Could it be forever? Yes, and forever and ever. We LOVE you!
Hi Felicia, the only time my bubble bursted with excitement the many times I saw David’s shows, and got pictures with him. I want to show gratitude to a man that did not have to give me the time of the day.I respect David and glad he took the pressure off and let us fans know. I never shared my stories before, because those were my memories, to be cherished. At this time I changed my mind. I want to let the world know what a good person David was than and now. He was the star, not me. I wanted to tell you my story someday, this is not even the whole story, but I wanted us to be friends first, and we are. I’m not going to say nomore, this is David’s time with all his fans, I’m just 1 of trillions. And Felicia, I know David stopped the tour, I don’t know if Cleveland was scheduled last. Of course I wanted to be there with David, the band, and all the fans just like me. I am CONCERNED with David’s health more than the tour. But let’s not let down hope, there always hope, David I want and hope you have days where you feel your best ever. And Felicia, David may feel like playing again, he can play for fun. If we don’t dream and have hope than there is non. Felicia I know you are a big and true fan of David’s. We are all in this together, I wish my mom was here to hear all this. With GODS will ,I am a believer, we just have to pray, there is noway we can stop having hope, and David needs to keep himself lifted up and maybe doing the things in life that he loves. Thank You David for the love you showed to all your fans, all over the world. You are the biggest ICON that worked for that title.
David, please research the benefits of Lions Mane mushrooms. They grow wild in North America. You can also purchase them dried in any Chinese medicine store (I bought mine in Chinatown herein Toronto). Also available is capsule form and found in any health food store under a few brands. They help prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s and helped merecovery from a ruptured brain aneurysm. It’s because of their ability to penetrate the blood barrier in the brain and promote nerve growth factor. Please please please, just reasearch for yourself. Google benefits of lions mane and see for yourself. It was a miracle discovery for me. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I would be happy and honoured to help of course. Lisa
David I am so sad that you have dementia and I have been a fan of yours since the 1970s,
I wish you well, one thing I would like to say is that I received a message tonight from
Michael Whelan, he is the brother of Bernadette Who died after going to your White City Concert. He said he was so sorry to hear you have dementia and he hopes you will make a full recovery and he also wishes you and your beautiful family all the best.
I have known Michael and knew his parents from 1975. I cannot get in touch with you any other way to tell you what Michael said other than on here. Please don’t delete my message until David reads it, or whoever does this website passes this on to him.
Thank you .
Hi Felicia, the only time my bubble bursted was getting to see different shows through the years when David performed and getting to meet him,and having the most memorable pictures with him. I did not want to share that story, I did now for a reason. I was fan, he was the star,he did not have to give me the time of the day . David is a icon, he is the nicest and we will never have another David Cassidy. I care about his health more than the tour. Of course I wanted to see David in Cleveland, this coming June so did the rest of the fans, Mentor is a beautiful area, with mentor headlines beach, mini paradise. All I want is for David to have days where is feels great doing things he wants to do and loves to do. David was honest with us, that was pressure. I just want to let the trillions of fans know we are all in this together. We have to have hope, David had to have hope, you never know someday David may want to come out and play for fun and talk with us fans. He worked to hard to many years. He said he enjoyed playing for us. He took his career serious. Now it is David time. Felicia I wanted us to become friends before I shared any of my stories, but this is the right time, to celebrate David Cassidy career and his life ahead, filled with HOPE and LOVE. David has to stay strong for himself to get better. David I hope you are feeling better already,by telling the fans, I’m just one, thank you, I love reading all the posts from all of your best ever fans, that you have had from the beginning of this wonderful time with you David. GOD bless you.
Hello David,
My name is Greta and I hope this message finds its way to you – I was very saddened to hear the news of your dementia and I give you a lot of credit for being able to open up about it and being willing to share with fans and the public…I happen to work for an organization in Cleveland OH that specializes in SAIDO learning – a non pharmacological treatment that is proven to reverse and in some cases prevent cognitive impairment in people living with dementia. So your story hits close to home as I watch people of all ages live with the disease every day. I applaud your choice to focus on you and living a good quality life. Blessings to you David for your heart and courage and of course – your music.

Dear Denice,
I hope I did not offend you. I apologize if I did!
I mailed you a card today, February23. You take
care! I really do value our friendship.
I am glad this thee authentic David Cassidy
website. I just got a friend request on Facebook
from a David B Cassidy, I declined the request
because it was a fraud. I looked up David’s
Facebook page he goes just by David Cassidy,
not by David B Cassidy. It think it is deplorable
this character who is going by David B Cassidy
has David’s photos on his face book page.
How sick is that? The real David Cassidy is a
man of integrity, a man of honor, a gentleman
and genuine . So I wanted fans to be aware
of this. I am so glad this web site is real.
Hi Felicia,I guess the one lesson of friendship is,disagreements, you did not offend me, I did feel something off. I know how much of a fan you are to David. If there is the one thing I can say, we became friends because of David Cassidy, you also are a beautiful person , with a outgoing personality. All I meant is there is hope for David and we must believe that. In the meantime David told us the truth.like so many of his fans have said not to completely shut down. We still have alot of 2017 to go. Maybe with no pressure, and us understanding as fans, David might want to finish and just play for fun. Only if David is feeling better. I think technology today, is really on top of this dementia. I am very concerned for David and wish I could help in someway. I am so happy to see all the support all his fans are giving, my friends Bob and Michael send regards to you David and hope you will be fine. They attended a few if your concerts with me and really had a great time. Your concerts were for every age group, so glad all fans are coming to you.this is incredible support that shows how much you are loved.and Felicia let’s stay friends and I may surprise you down the road, I know how much you care for David, David the strength is in you. Sending you a hug of love.
Hi Denice!
I never meant to hurt your feelings! I did not mean to take your
to take your hope away. I received my People
Magazine in the mail today, David is on the cover.
He did an exclusive interview for People. The
title of the article is”My Battle with dementia”.
I did not read the article yet. I am going to brace
myself and hope for the best for David. I will read the article.
I just want to say good morning to David.
You are such a brave soul! God bless you
for all your achievements in life. Thank
you for all the joy you have brought to

David I am so proud of you! I just got done
reading about the interview you gave
People Magazine! Excellent article!
Thank you for sharing on Facebook the
note that Harry Connick Jr. wrote to you!
I feel like a dog chasing its tail, I am getting
no where! I left so many post on this web site.
I meant well. Now I have come to the conclusion
I have to get on with my life. I got addicted to
posting on this web site., I get it David you
really read what your fans post! I have to go
to my alanon meeting tomorrow night. I worried
excessively about Davidy Cassidy for one week.
Now I have to give all my worries to God. I got
to take the first step “We admitted we were
powerless over the alcholic and our lives have
become unmanageable”. I am signing off, and
leaving this web site. David I wish you the best
life possible! It hurts too much to see you in
so much pain. Thank you for allowing your
fans to express themselves on your web site!
I will always love you ! I just can’t comment
on this web site anymore. Happy Trails!
I am still wishing you the best for your future and wishing I could have seen you in person. I am 11 years younger than you are, but I got the Up To Date album the same Christmas I got a console stereo (1971?) and played it over and over. Everyone else got to hear it and memorize all the songs too. Th
anks for the memories.
I just finished playing my favorite album, “Home Is Where The Heart Is”. At one time I played this album so much (and loud!) I thought my family would disown me! My absolute favorite David song is, “A Fool In Love”. I also just finished reading the People magazine article. What you said about regret resonated with me. I too have a long list. I wish I could do something to help you.
Sending you LOVE, HUGS & PEACE.
Wishing all my best to David. He was supposed to be my husband (when I was 12)! I still have the Rolling Stone picture hanging on my wall from 1972. I was so hoping to see him live again…
Hello David- I want to address you as a man of today and not the teen idol that you were so long time ago. I can’t even imagine the struggles that you’ve gone through in your life. I admire your strength and your weaknesses because we all have them, no matter what our addictions or diseases are. I’m glad that you found faith and I know that you are passionate man from the songs that you sing, to the words that you speak and the love that you have in your heart for your children, your partner and all your fans. I will pray for your continued strength in sobriety, and your health. You have brought happiness to so many people pretty much all your life. I pray that the happiness comes back to you in the form of faith, hope and peace. One day at a time, one day at a time.
Hi Felicia, I just read your post about the dog chasing tail. Please find the rest of my post under latest blog.thanks

To the best web site on planet earth. David Cassidy
thank you for appreciating your fans. We love
you so much ! I read your book “Could it be
forever”. I like what you said about your career,
you said “it was never about the fame or money”,
that you have to ask yourself do you have the
talent to substain your career. You praise your
fans, and that is truly appreciated. Thank you
for making the decision not to retire. You
stated you will stop touring, and you won’t
retire. Your music is very healing!
Mr Cassidy,
I hope the doctors can find something to stop your illness getting worse. I wish you well for the future.

Hi David, What can I say that hasn’t already been said? I first heard your voice in the 1970’s, you changed my life. I have loved you from the beginning. I wish I could hold you in my arms and make the world go away. Make this your time, relax and enjoy your life. Wishing you all the best.
Much love
Angela
On your birthday David all your fans will praying for you, we want to show you how much we love and care about you.
David will be on Dr. Phil on March 1.
Denice, I received your card today, thank
you. I wrote you a letter over the weekend.
I will put it in the mail by tomorrow. Have a
great day!
Hi David,
I have family members suffering as well, so I know what’s involved. Great new possibilities opening for healing in Australia research. Hyperbarics helps too. This should give you comfort as the movement for a cure is happening much quicker now and you are still young enough to benefit. You will always be 19 in my heart and I will treasure your Arie Crown performance in Chicago in the 70’s. I feel 19 too, well maybe 49, but as my 102 year old grandma said, “I still feel like I’m 40 until I look at the wrinkles in the mirror”. Prayers to you & your family.
Hi Felicia, thanks , sent a new letter out, yes watched Dr.Phil put my post on recent blog. My Dad just realized now how big David Cassidy was. My dad enjoyed seeing him in blood brothers. I told my dad, everyone of David’s fans are really nice people. I shared a few of the stories, it was a good conversation. Let me know how your feeling about David, he’s got great support.
Hi! David my name is Phillip Ornelas I would like to pass along my best wishes to you I grew up watching you in the Partridge Family and other shows you in. You gave me nothing but a lot of fun times and made my life a happy one. In my friend is battling the same disease Dementia I certainly know first hand how difficult it is! Again you have my sincere best wishes you will always be in my heart god bless.
