I’ve spent months contemplating this decision to retire at the end of this year. But I will still do a number of concerts this Year in 2017! I believe I owe that to my fans and also to my second family, the members of my band. They’ve been there for many years with me. They’re all fantastic musicians and wonderful friends to me.
This has been a very difficult decision for me that nobody can possibly understand. 49 YEARS of doing concerts!!!
Too all who’ve loved my work and that have been there for me, I want to be able to show my gratitude and awareness of your care and support. So…. I will continue to speak with my friend Jane who has helped me for years now with my website and my Facebook page. I’m not going to just disappear! I’m just no longer going to fly and play and travel and fly and play again etc.
God Bless you all and I hope you’ll come and see me in concert in my final year! I love what you’ve all given me with your magnificent support for decades.
Happy Trails to you. XO

Thank goodness you won’t vanish David! I’d miss you even more than I do now!
I cannot imagine how much of a strain the repetitive play, travel, play, travel carousel is that you have been on for nearly half a century!

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I give Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopie and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honoured, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you!” Isaiah 43, 1+3-5
I am thankful for all your Songs, your voice, all you did for uns. Have a very good time and please find the WAY TO HEAVEN, to Jesus. He is looking for you and will lead you.

Dear David
I’m so sorry that your arthritis has been causing you so much pain and that the time has come for you to retire. I want to tell you how much I loved you as a teenager at the age of 14 and a half when I first saw you and it has been the same ever since. There’ll never again be another entertainer like you, you are so special and unique. It’s always been you for me. In Sydney, 1974 when there was much screaming going on, as well as seeing you I really wanted to hear you sing. I’ve loved your voice so much. Also I’d like to pay tribute to you, what you’ve achieved in your career, what you’ve given your fans is immeasurable. As much as this, is the person that I know you are and who I’d love to have met and seen in concert one more time. I wish you everything in your upcoming retirement that you hope for and hope you stay in contact on your website to hear what you do in the future. Will continue to keep in touch with you online.
It’s a bit sad for me at the moment, feel very alone with my circumstances and losing my third relative in four months, funeral Monday.
I’ll love you forever David.
Sending you all my love
Sandra

Please take good care of yourself, enjoy life and keep in touch.
Love you always xxxxxxxxxxxxx

David, I came to know you later in life, you were not my teen idol, that in my heart belongs to Davy Jones–I only came to know of you after his death–which had a traumatic effect on me–the Monkees are my boys and always will be. But it was you and your music that I listened to after Davy passed. So I never knew you as a Keith Partridge only as David Cassidy. Your music is classic, like the Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby classic voices, I did see you in Hartford last June at Infinity Hall, and I can not thank you enough for your tribute to my Davy. I also a month later saw Peter and Mickey in NH for their 50th–If you can no longer travel, please keep singing–I think the Manchester Cowboy would have wanted you to–blessings to you David, someday I would like to talk racing with you–Secretariat was my horse! Hope to see you at Saratoga! Happy Trails——-
I am very grateful for your kind consideration in wanting to stay in touch with us. Thank you for all the wonderful songs and performances that you have given us over the many years. I am saddened that I won’t be able to be at any of your last shows, but hoping that they go well. I’m sure that the lucky fans at are able to go will never forget the experience. So David, when the time come that you finally hang up your guitar and easy yourself into retirement, you can look back and be very proud at your accomplishments. God bless you and enjoy your life’s next chapter. Be happy, stay healthy and remember to stay in touch.
Happy Trails to you David. XO

Wishing you all the best for the future David. I have enjoyed seeing you the few times I have in concert, and wish you all the best with whatever you decided to do in the future. We your fans only want the best for you even though this will really upset us all. I hope you finally find some peace in your life.
Take care David, we love you.
Hi David,
I am so glad I went to your show last year in Annapolis MD. Seeing you in person was one of my bucket list items. Thank you for touring as long as you have to make my dream of “seeing/hearing you live” a reality. Thank you for meeting me halfway! I’m wishing you all the best! ? {{hugs}}
so glad to read you are not going to disappear completely, thank goodness for that lol, some musicians still do a couple of shows even in their 70s, always nice to hear from you and you are keeping well, we are encouraged to remain active even in our later years, if only pottering about at home, it will be hard for the band members as they have to sort their future too, so it is not only yourself to consider, I see local bands maybe doing a show in your local area, so, one who is coming to her 60 year young, remaining active is essential, but you don`t have to run round the world, legs would ache lol, sitting at home can make health worse in us oldies, I love your music to this day, and when I watch the partridge family show I remember my teens when I first clapped eyes on you, never took my eyes away from the screen the whole time you were on, best thing since sliced bread, the internet is a lovely way to keep in touch with fans and vice versa, and saying unfortunately, goodbyes to the dearly departed, helps closure, pity we did not have the internet in the 70s, but we only had the vinyls and 5 channels on tv, and here today as I write this, it is sunny and I am playing summer days, it feels like summer in February, you have given and give so much pleasure, I wish you good health and best wishes always,
Dear David Cassidy,
I wish you the best life has to offer. You made the
right decision to retire at the end of the year!
Always remember you are not a human doing
you are a human being. Just to be is enough!
You have paid your dues. You have brought so
much joy to so many people. I will always love
you. I will aways care about you. Let it be known
that my all time favorite song is “Could it be forever”
You can retire technically, but every time fans play a song or watch a movie or tv show, that word is only a word. There’ll always be place for you to hang out in our little side yard and we wouldn’t make you sing for your supper! Hugs from PA. And, of course, a little giggle from that 12-year-old inside all of us middle-aged fans!
Ohhh, David… Now, I have to definitely go and see you in concert in the USA. I have to see you once again. I didn’t believe you decided so quickly about your retirement. I just read yesterday about not saying Goodbye but it seems I was wrong. I Know I am been a little self now but I have to do my very best and see you again. I need to do that, my sweetie.
Hi David
I was 15 years old when the partridge family started,so i can understand why you want to retire. As we are all older we need to look after our health. You have brought so much joy and happiness to all your fans over the years. Now is the time to relax spend time with your family and friends and just take it easy.Life is too short.I shall treasure the special memories
of seeing you live in concert in 1974 at white city, twice in Glasgow and the last one in Belfast
in 2005.It would be great if some of your farewell concerts were recorded live and put out on dvd for all your fans who are unable to travel to America.Thank you so much .Take care and most of all be happy.Love from Isabel Irwin Belfast.
David, thank you for giving your fans a year
to prepare for your retirement! You will never
be forgotten. Thank you for saying you will
keep your web sight open after you retire.
David you have been an entertainer for 49
years. That is remarkable! You have done the
impossible. It warms my heart with the appreciation
you have for your fans. For every fan reading this
post May God bless you ! My dog died 8 months
ago, his name was Cassidy, I had 14 good years
with him. The only thing that helped me heal
was playing David’s “Cherish album”. I especially
like the song “Ricky’s Tune”. I retired 2 years ago
from the federal government. Retirement is a
life style, it is a new way of living. David you
are priceless, unique, and a gentleman!
I will always love you! God bless you sweet man!
Hi David, I have watched you on The Partridge Family since the start of it. I have loved everything that you have done. I have been to four of your concerts . Just wish that I could meet you. I have a cat and her name is Cassidy because I love you so much! I wish you all the happiness and everything you want too. I always listen to your CDs. I have a alarm radio CD player and love waking up to you singing to me every morning. I also have all the DVDs too. I love listening to you sing and you have a beautiful voice too. When I was in junior high school I had my mom as my music teacher. Will always love you and never stop thinking of you and listen to you . Will always believe and support in everything you do. I have Epilepsy and always have. You will be loved and missed but I will never forget you at all. Cassidy sends you a lot of meows and god bless you LOVE Beth
Hello David,
I remember the first time I met you in Ruth’s office. U were so sweet and kind
Over the years I became friend with Shaun, Shirley and I have loved every minute of it.
You and I stayed in contact for several years through
Notes and phone calls. U would send me albums that
Were about to be released. I saw u in most of your broadway shows
When u came to Fair Park in Dallas. Even came back stage
When u were in Blood Brothers. Your were so sweet to my daughter.
Concerts I have seen many and u blew it away!
I do understand why u r slowing down. I suffer from fibromyalgia and
Chronic pain. It is terrible.
I do hope to see u one more time, hopefully in Texas. Or states close to Texas
Before u semi- retire.
U have been so kind and sweet to me over the many years, for this I so thank to u!
Also thank you. For getting me through some of the toughest times
In my life. I so appreciate u and all u do for your fans.
God Bless u and stay safe⤠Please keep us updated ever once in a while.
Be happy and Thank you for all the music u have blessed us with.
Forever a friend and a fan, Love to U!â¤

First and foremost, thank you for almost 50 years of entertainment. You have a fabulous voice you’re a great actor and an all-around great guy. From a woman’s point of view, you’re drop dead gorgeous to boot. I understand that you are ailing as time goes by as I am to I suffer from osteoarthritis and there are days where it hurts and it’s painful and it’s better to be home and to be comfortable. But that still breaks my heart that you won’t be available anymore. I’m so used to you being out there and whether I could see you in New York or see you in a concert or see when it’s film you’ve always been around and have brought me so much pleasure and love. I’ll never forget when I saw you at Madison Square Garden and I was hoping to see you again and now that’s not going to happen. But it’s very important that you take care of yourself David and that’s what I and all the fans truly want for you go relax enjoy Mara take little trips sleep late and just have a good time. Thank you for everything thank you for being you
Thanks for all the great memories of concerts over the years.
From Wembley ’73 to the last UK tour – I have some precious times to remember.
Take care of yourself. x

David Cassidy will retire at the end of the year!
Hi David, I am just getting last minute preperations done before my flight to Las Vegas, the realisation has just set in I will never see you perform again, I am so sad for myself but so happy for you as this has not been an easy decision for you to make, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for memeries that I treasure nobody can take them from me. I truly wish you a happy joyful retirement, nobody has been as loyal and as faithful to their fans as you have been have the greatest time ever at these last concerts as will your fans although for us it will be a little sad but at the end of the day, each and every fan wants the same thing and that is for you to be happy, love you forever Yvonne x
Can we still expect another CD from you? Have been looking forward to the Cole Porter songs. LOVE YOU FOREVER!
Hello David! ? I am Satomi from Japan. I am very sorry to hear about it. But I really understand you. I hope you will be great after that. I want to see you in concert until end of this year. I will definitely go!!!!!
A big thank you to all who came out to my shows this weekend.
I had the most fantastic weekend. The three sold out shows were an amazing experience. I love playing live and I wanted to let you know that I’ve got the fire back in my belly.
I understand Babe but I kinda liked the above message that you wrote us last February 2016 a hell of a lot more than the one you just wrote. Maybe 2017 will go on forever.
Peace, Love & Happiness,
Denise
We love the happiness you have given us David for decades. I do believe this must have been a difficult decision for you but you have given so much to others over the years that the table has turned and it is now your turn to slow down and “take it easy”.
I wish you great success this year with your concerts. I am sure you will have a blast. May God bless you with good health, happiness and success forever. Please keep in touch David and thank you for letting us know your decision to retire. My appreciation and gratitude is sent to you for making my life over the past 40+ years a happier place.
I love you David and enjoy your concerts this year. God bless you always and know that all your fans love and adore you.
Happy trails.

Hi Yvonne, my first airplane trip was going to see David doing theatre,in Detroit Michigan, many years ago. My memories are priceless. I was taken away, by the talented artist David was. Throughout the years to come, I got to see more shows, David God had your plan of who you would become when you were born. Sounds crazy but no-one can fill your shoes. You are a good person who warmed so many hearts, and a friend to all. Yvonne I wish you true happiness, at David’s concert. Don’t miss a moment, and hold on to your memories. Excitement will overwhelm. Have the best time. I think you mentioned up front . David have fun and just be you. Everything will be PERFECT.
Hi Denice, thank you so much for your kind words,I will enjoy every minute.
You are such a big part of our lives as well as many others. Through the 70’s, my husband and I (boyfriend & girlfriend in the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grade), grew up to your music and loving it. Here we are at 54 years old and still listen to your music and love it just the same. Our lives came back full circle when we met up again at our 25th class reunion. We were married in 2007, my husband made a video for our wedding and your songs were played throughout. Your Cds are always in the car and we enjoy them on all our trips. Its nothing but good, pleasant memories to hear you. We look forward to seeing you one last time this year in Mentor Ohio. We are so grateful for your talent and how it has inspired our lives. Wish you nothing but the best in your retirement.
Hi David,
I have watched and loved your music. I work in TV and Films and have even worked with Susan Dey on LA Law back in the day. My friends had told me bout your Canyon Club concert, Feb 18. I have a Filming in Hawaii and am not sure if i can make it back in time for the concert. I am torn from turning down a TV work or come watch you perform. Then I read your Semi Retirement plans and am really hoping it all works out so I can do both. Either way, Wanna say thank you and to the cast of The Partridge Family for all the entertainment. Even today, I’ve been humming your music. As I fly to Hawaii tomorrow, I will be listening to your music. your music makes me happy. Thank you
Dear David,
I’ve enjoyed attending your concerts and thank you for giving us this very special time. I understand your decision to retire but saddened. I hope you come to New Jersey one last time this year. God bless you-Ellen

Hi David,
Well i made it back from Hawaii in time to watch your Feb 18, performance. I could have stayed in Hawaii a bit longer, but made it back. I was so excited to watch you perform. I am sorry you didn’t have a good performance. It really broke my heart and was very sad you were not feeling well. I will live on with the memories of you and your partridge family music. The lady next to me flew in from Ireland to watch last nights performance and too was very sad.
Thank you for the music! Wishing you health and happiness surrounded by your friends and family. Much love and respect – <3
Dear David. I am so sad to hear your sad news. I love all your songs and have your CD’s. You were my teen idol and will always be my idol. So sad this will be your last year. I wish you all the very best in your retirement. Will always hold you tenderly in my heart. Love you David. xxx♥
Where/how can someone send a fan letter? I’ve never sent one before but I’d like to. Maybe get info on where to get an autographed pic as well?
Thx…..
David – my prayers and hugs are with you and your family! I too understand first hand the battle with dementia as my mother had it and passed away in Jan. 2014. I understand what you have gone thru with losing your mother. You are in my heart and prayers. Keep your family close and love them every chance you get. I pray for you and your son Beau and daughter Katie as you go through these challenges. Remember to not be hard on yourself and try and look upon this as a gift of time with your family. Wish I could give you a hug in person and say thank you for ALL the memories and fantastic music you have given me and many others throughout the years. You will never know the joy and happiness you brought to me! Wish I could meet you sometime and tell you in person! I had a little girl later in life (45!) and I have even got her loving your music and the Partridge Family DVD’s! She was able to see you in concert last August “16 at the Villages, FL on the Tuesday pm show and she was singing along with you! It was such a great moment when I saw her standing on the chair and singing with you to “I think I love you” – these memories and experiences mean more to me than I can say! Thank you again for the joy and music and never forget how much you are cared for by so many!
“DBC”..Like many young girls, I fell madly in love with you (almost) 40 years ago.The memories of my youth are infused in your songs…your voice. I hear “I Think I Love You” and I am 12 again. I reunited w/ my best friend (we shared our love for you w/scrapbooks, records, concerts, posters (wall-papered on our walls.) For Christmas, my g.f. gave me the complete set of Partridge Family shows. (Friday p.m. at 8:30). Innocence, optimism, and pure goodness emanated from the screen. I called my friend to tell her the sad news @ your health, and we were truly shaken. YOU ARE A VERY GOOD and DECENT man. YOU have many of the “niceness” that Keith had. You impacted so very many lives. And, like so many creative and talented people, you suffered from the horrible disease of alcoholism. It is indeed a disease, which I do not believe many understand. I do. One of my “bucket list” desires was to see you in concert or meet you.
I will forever remember your voice, smile, and BRAVERY.
ODAT. Genuine Respect (and still that crush..) Love to you DBC! There will never be another!
David….This is Harvey Cooper…..”The Bell Records guy” so sorry to hear of your recent challenges both professionally and personally. I wanted you to know you were one of the best Artists I ever worked with, never arrogant or ego driven, hard working and so talented on so many levels. Let me know if there is anything I could do . Always on my mind David all the Best!!!!!
David, Just want you to know how much I love you & always have, you will never be forgotten even though your retiring.. I wish you nothing but love, happiness, family, friends, take care of yourself. Focus on yourself David that is all that matters.. I have been in love with you for forever, I had your posters all over my walls.. just know that we ,all of your fans are here for you.I never got to see you in person, I wish I could have..you just get well & keep us posted now & then.. will be thinking & Praying for you everyday. You are an Amazing man just know that.. just get well . Love you forever & a day sweet David…xo Judy
I have loved The Partridge Family and you since I was a kid. I still watch the DVDs and listen to your music!! Never forget when my husband bought me The Partridge Family Season 1 DVD. Since I have added the rest of the seasons.
I am sad to hear you will stop performing but I wish you the very best. You have given a lot to us as fans. Your music has touched our lives and has been in our life for so many years!
Prayers and love David.
Mr. Cassidy: I was diagnosed with altheimers disease in my early sixties. Fortunately the medication, Donepezil, was prescribed early. I know I can’t be cured, but with the help of this medicine, I have not progressed. It has helped me maintain a quality of life with very few limitations. I hope something like this can help you and bring you peace and final years a good quality of life. Take care and my best.

I grew up with you…your posters were all over my bedroom! Thank you so much for all the sweet memories & beautiful music. Didn’t think we were ever get to the age our health wouldn’t cooperate.
Bless you. I am coming to America for your gigs and trying to rustle up some old friends who came with me to your gigs – er – 40 years ago! We still love you. We support whatever decision you make. You can count on us.
And I’m replying to my own message – to say a big THANK YOU for your gift, your effort, your loyalty to your fans. We so appreciate it. You can be proud. Your songs still light me up after all these years. I only played your songs yesterday in the car and instantly felt in a good mood. I think you are the best singer ever.
I’m with you Deborah. I’ve been playing the Partridge Family Greatest Hits for 2 days now and the music makes you feel good….and brings back so many memories.
My heart goes out to you David. I work in a facility with Dementia patients. You are loved all over the world. I am thinking of you every day and your journey will not be easy. You have given me joy since I was 12. I am 60 now. That is a lot of years. I thank you for the love, the music and much more. You are loved
Hi David,
I am so sorry to hear about your health. I have been a fan of your’s since the first episode of “The Partridge Family”. I was 13 yrs old. I had a few albums of the Partridge Family and a few of your’s also. Loved your songs and especially your voice. I had posters of you on my wall but my favorite was with you with a horse. I never got to see any of your concerts, I wish I could have would of loved to see your in person. You are such a unique person and you have given so much and shared so much with your fans. You talents, singing and playing all those instruments, acting writing and the list goes on…… It is time for your fans to give back to you the love that you gave us all these years. You kept singing the song “I think I love you” for your fans well David we know you do and we love you to the moon and back. Take care of yourself David. If there is any way when you happen to have good days keep us posted please would be nice maybe just live chat us and just shoot the breeze with use and I will be there as I know all your fans will be there to listen to you talk. I just want to hear your voice and hear you talk. I love listening to your music but love it when you talk. You are very interesting to listen. I’ve seen a few interviews and it just melts my heart to hear you talk. Please stay in touch with us. Oh by the way one of my older brother nicknamed me Partridge when I was young and I use that word in my e-mail. Go figure right…Hope this put a smile on your face…..lol Love ya sweet, sweet David. Giving you a huge hug with this message.
I love watching the Partridge Family on DVD. I watched the series when it was first aired on an early colour TV set and remember enjoying it as a child.
I now have all 4 series and enjoy watching it on a much superior colour TV set .
I liked the character of Keith Partridge but my favourite character was Reuben Kincaid played by Dave Madden.
The music is still great to listen to and I hope your present musical projects go well !
Best regards
Stephen Court
I see many messages here fans have and letting you know they love and care about you…
and as the person whom left words from scripture I have something to share . I prayed for you yesterday and last night. I don’t know where you are with Yahovah(God) but you and he know. The is something I wrote a few months back not knowing who to give it to till this morning I read it and it was put on my heart to send to you …. listen to that still small voice.
That is the voice that will direct you. Do it’s good directions, for in doing so, you will learn things you never understood. Heed them …. for life’s sake. As I tell you these now,, I pray that Yahovah( Gods true Hebrew name) brings you peace beyond all understanding and his love and light comes to you now with immediate effect and lifts you to a place you have never known nor seen on this earth. your story is not finished I sense he has been calling to you. I pray complete healing in all things and all ways . ask him to show you what you need to know, talk to him, you will receive his asnswers. (I know this for I have done the same and much I have been shown and has answered questions I’ve asked and it’s beautiful! ) These I pray in Y’shuas name ( Jesus’ true Hebrew name) Amein … and so it is. Shalom
