“I Think I Love You!” David Cassidy at NJPAC!

Web2016July6_01

Cheers erupt as the lights dim and Cassidy makes his entrance, smiling and grinning at the crowd, soloing mightily on his guitar. Segueing into one of his classic Partridge Family hits, “C’mon Get Happy,” the impromptu “cheering section” in the front row takes its cue and happily goes to work excitedly shouting in support of their favorite former teen idol.

David Cassidy – NJPAC Newark NJ

David Cassidy - 3pm show

David hit the stage and looked and sounded great. Guitar in hand, he played for almost 2 straight hours. In a surprising twist, David took us on a musical journey of the last century. David touched on all the music that influenced him and that we all grew up together listening to. Deep Purple, Cole Porter, the Beatles, the Monkees, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, and his Partridge Family and solo career classics. The band was a tight, stellar group of musicians including Dave Robicheau on Guitar, Frank Fabio on Bass, Craig J on Keyboards and Felipe Torres on Drums.

David was charming, witty and engaging. He truly appreciates his fans and was enjoying the crowd as much as we were enjoying him…..

NJPAC gets a double dose of David Cassidy

June 25, 2016 - 7:30pm show

….It’s a somewhat bittersweet fact that many music lovers who embark upon well-intentioned trips down memory lane often regret undertaking the journey. But not tonight. Yes, it’s not 1974 anymore. It’s 2016. But David Cassidy is still around, folks … and that is truly something to get happy about.

David’s love for life, music and his fans was apparent in this evenings show. The audience was so receptive to his every song, it seemed more like a party than a concert. Everyone’s spirits were raised due to this one man and his incredible band.

We had a great time at Ohio’s Rocksino June 4th. You did an amazing job at keeping the positive energy flowing. I had my 24 yr old daughter with me who has become a fan of the Partridge Family. She was starstruck. She was wearing a gold signet pinky ring as a tribute to you! I love how you incorporated other people’s music, telling stories of them (BB King, John Lennon, Davey Jones, your dad Jack). You have guitar-playing talent and seemed to really be enjoying yourself. Thanks for a free feeling, enjoyable time. Your band is so very talented and seemed to really love what they were doing. I am so glad to have seen you. Keep it up!! We really support you.

April 16, 2016 Concert – Review & Photos

A Spooky Night With David Cassidy

David immediately captured the minds and hearts of the enthusiastic crowd with an opening Partridge Family troika of ‘C’mon Get Happy’, ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Albuquerque’, all sung with energy and his usual commitment to excellence. The voice was smooth and clear with David effortlessly gliding up and down the octaves as he did over forty years ago……

Personally, the highlight of the concert was a perfectly executed version of ‘Spooky’ that took most of us long-time fans by surprise. With a punchy beat, the song rocks and allures while David’s impish come-hither smile had a number of young ladies excitedly giggling away.

The variety continued with a jazzy ‘Night and Day’, sing-a-long ‘Daydream Believer’, theatrical ‘On Broadway’, hard hitting ‘Sweet Little Angel’ and fierce ‘Hush’ before David made the announcement about his first solo top 10 single. I could see security grimace when they had to again chase away the wild women of Tonawanda as they rushed the stage to the opening bars of “Cherish is the word I use to descri-ibe…”.

David Cassidy Wows Adoring Crowd at Suffolk Theater in Riverhead

Article by Lisa Finn/Patch

RIVERHEAD, NY – Dreams came true at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead Friday night as a sold out crowd of forever fans saw David Cassidy take the stage in a performance they waited a lifetime to experience.

The concert showcased the sheer depth and dizzying range of David Cassidy’s incredible talent — as well as his innate ability as a story teller who took the time to draw the crowd into the scrapbook of his life, infusing memories with honesty and humor. A story about how he rebelled about speaking the words in the middle of the song “Doesn’t Somebody Want to Be Wanted” sent laughter bubbling through the starstruck crowd.

While he delivered his familiar hits, including “I Woke Up in Love this Morning”, “Come On Get Happy,” and a heart-achingly poignant “Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque,” the star also captivated when he crooned standards and classics such as Cole Porter’s “Night and Day,” proving hands down that he’s more, so much more, than a teen idol.

David Cassidy’s a rare talent who continued to evolve masterfully over the years since he graced pop record album covers, and his performance Friday night was a star turn, pure and simple, as he showcased the amazing range of his vocal gift.
