The idols of two generations meet at a crowded showbiz party, and the rest of us can be grateful that not everyone shares David Cassidy's taste in clothes.
Former teen idol Cassidy was wearing a suit as he celebrated taking over Cliff Richard's role in the musical Time.
TV presenter Jonathan Ross also sported a suit at the party at Jacqueline's Disco in Soho, but the clothes could have com from different planets.
Cassidy, 36, preferred a glittering, shiny affair that should have gone out with John Travolta. Ross, the 26-year-old presenter of the Channel 4 chat show The Last Resort, favoured the double-breasted approach.
We can only hope that as the two chatted over a glass of champagne, Mr Ross was giving Mr Cassidy the name of his tailor.
