Cassidy feels protective of TV's 'Partridge Family'
David Cassidy, the one-time teen singing idol on The Partridge Family, has been trying for 20 years to put that image behind him. Now, he says, he finds himself defending the show from critics.
''I've starting feeling over the last couple of years very protective of The Partridge Family,'' Cassidy said. ''People don't remember just how successful it was and what a well-crafted show it was for what it was.''
The hit comedy, about a family-turned-rock-'n'-roll-band, aired from 1970 to 1974.
Cassidy, 43, is writing a book about his experiences on the show. And he's preparing a concert tour celebrating the 1970s.
