It's the 4th of July and that means that it's time to celebrate our nation's Birthday and Tampa is just the place to do so. There will be celebrations all throughout Tampa, but here are just a few of the big ways the city is going all out.
Busch Gardens will be having concerts on Friday, July, 3 and Saturday, July 4. David Cassidy will be performing on Friday, starting at 8pm at Gwazi Park. On Saturday Starship featuring Mickey Thomas will be performing, also at 8pm at the Gwazi Park. There will fireworks on both nights following the concerts at 9:30pm.
The Florida Aquarium will be extending its hours until 9:30pm on Saturday, July 4.After 3pm, the admission price to the aquarium will be only $10 per person. There will also be Special Event Parking that will begin at 3pm, which will be $10 per vehicle. The Aquarium will extend the hours for the "Explore-A-Shore"and "Cantina" exhibits until 9pm, so that there will still be time to see the fireworks. Also in Channelside on Saturday, July 4 will be a street festival celebration. Starting at 2pm, there will be face painting and balloon artists for the kids, plus live music and a lot of entertainment. The city of Tampa is encouraging people to use the TECO streetcar trolley service because spaces tend to fill quite quickly during events.
