David Cassidy, the 1970s pop music heartthrob, was a big draw on Sunday night, pulling fans in from Iowa and Wisconsin as well as the Schaumburg area.
"We got an e-mail from a woman in Iowa today who said his performance was great and that the community was very pretty. That was fun," Armistead said.
Cassidy and his band performed a range of '60s-'70s favorites such as "Cherish" and "Breaking up is Hard to Do," but the crowd couldn't hold back in its enthusiasm as it collectively sang along to Partridge Family staples "Come on Get Happy," "I Woke up in Love This Morning" and "I Think I Love You."
Fans who remembered his early days when he portrayed Keith Partridge on the '70s TV show waved albums, photos and signs proclaiming love for him. He thanked them for their 37 years of devotion.
