Grandy's Glory parlayed an ideal trip into a 14-1 upset score in the $150,400 Fanfreluche Stakes, for Ontario-bred 2-year-old fillies Saturday at Woodbine. Grandy's Glory stalked front-runners Midnight Shadow and Saskawea on the backstretch of the six-furlong dash. She made a three-wide bid on the turn and hit the front at the head of the stretch, before drawing away to win by 4 1/4 lengths in a time of 1:11.47. "She's got a lot of talent, and she's shown it in the mornings," said Steven Bahen, who rode Grandy's Glory for trainer Mike DePaulo. "The whole thing is getting her to the gate - that's her downfall. She backed off [the leaders] quite nicely on her own. I just sat outside, and when I called on her, she came running." Saskawea finished a clear second after breaking slowly and dueling with favored Midnight Shadow, who got caught on the wire for third by Dashingalltheway. Simply Stylish and Trivia Game completed the order of finish. Grandy's Glory ($30.10) banked $90,000 in her first stakes win for owner Ben Hutzel. * Trainer Roger Attfield recorded career stakes victory No. 300 with Pellegrino in the $102,000 Chief Bearhart, one of two supporting features on the card. Pellegrino rallied wide under Jim McAleney to beat Colorful Judgement by a neck in the 1 1/4-mile route, which was taken off the grass and run on the Polytrack. Favored Seaside Retreat faded to sixth in the 10-horse field after a stalking trip. Pellegrino ($23.30) covered the distance in 2:06.44, earning $60,000 for owner Gary Tanaka. * New York shipper Half Heaven ($86.20) overhauled favored Financingavailable in deep stretch to take the $102,800 River Memories Stakes for fillies and mares by a neck under Emile Ramsammy. Making her first start for trainer Arthur Silvera, Half Heaven ran a mile and 70 yards in 1:43.22. She earned $60,000 for the partnership of David Cassidy and Ed Lipton.
