"My favorite sports moment has to be Secretariat winning the Belmont Stakes in 1973. He was the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years, since Citation. I don't remember exactly where I was because I was on tour and watched the race on television. I did, however, go to the Preakness when he won. I flew in with the Lt. Governor of Maryland at the time and he hosted me and invited me onto the infield. I met Johnny Unitas there, one of the greatest football players of all time, which made the day doubly important to me.
"Secretariat was the reason I became such an enthusiast about horses and breeding. He inspired a lot of people. I have been breeding and racing thouroughbreds seriously ever since."
