David Cassidy shot to stardom in the 1970s on The Partridge Family. Today the little girls who fell in love with Cassidy as Keith Partridge are now grown women falling in love with him all over again as David Cassidy, multi-talented superstar.
In 1996, Cassidy opened the show "EFX" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, taking over for Michael Crawford. Many thought the show would fail because they believed that David Cassidy "teen idol" could not live up to the man who performed in shows like "The Phantom of the Opera." Instead, thanks to Cassidy's production savvy, "EFX" soared, becoming one of the most successful shows in the history of Las Vegas. It also launched Cassidy's career as one of the most popular entertainers in the casino industry.
Following up on the success of "EFX," Cassidy co-created the show "The Rat Pack is Back!" in 1999, based on the music of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, and the rest of the famous Rat Pack. In 2000, he followed up with "At the Copa," which incorporated the style of a Broadway musical production with a rock-star-like concert.
However, Cassidy's first love was performing his music, so in 2001, he closed his Las Vegas shows and returned to the concert stage. He has taken his act on the road, performing at casinos around the country.
His concert performances are a blend of old and new music. Fans of The Partridge Family will recognize songs like "I Can Hear Your Heartbeat," "I'll Meet You Halfway," and "I Woke Up in Love This Morning." His hardcore fans will be familiar with the music from his more recent solo albums like A Touch of Blue and Then and Now. Cassidy also performs cover versions of 60s and 70s classic hits. If fans aren't already dancing in the aisles, they jump out of their seats when Cassidy begins his signature song, "I Think I Love You."
