Mention the name of David Cassidy and the songs of the Partridge Family come flooding back to everyone's memories. Cassidy will be reliving those memories and making new ones when he performs at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles on July 6th.
David Cassidy was the biggest teen idol of the 70's. He even gave Donny Osmond a run for his money in the teen idol category. There were Cassidy buttons, pillowcases, albums, concerts, and endless covers of Tigerbeat and many tears of teenyboppers everywhere. Cassidy burst on the scene with the TV hit "The Partridge Family" and some of the show's songs "I'll Meet You Halfway," "I Think I Love You," "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" became instant hits. At the height of his popularity, Cassidy abruptly left the touring circuit after a gate stampede killed one of his young fans. His days of a teen idol were over with.Cassidy continued to record and eventually gravitated back to acting, this time in the theater. He toured in "Little Johnny Jones" and "Blood Brothers" on Broadway with his brother Shaun Cassidy, who also endured years as a teen idol.
In Vegas, Cassidy took over "EFX" at the MGM and brought in raves reviews as well as a packed crowd night after night. Cassidy and his production of "EFX" won countless awards and was the major hit of the Las Vegas Strip for several years.
Cassidy then decided to return to the concert circuit greeting his many fans world-wide. He has just released a book on his life "Can It Be Forever: My Story" and maintains close contact with his fans via his website: www.davidcassidy.com.
