What do Cory Magee and Danny Bonaduce have in common? Both played a supporting role to David Cassidy -- Bonaduce 23 years ago in "The Partridge Family" and Cory Magee this past summer as a waiter at Saratoga Race Course.
Magee, who served drinks in the clubhouse area, sometimes drew the task of bringing Cassidy his preferred beverage -- Diet Coke.
"He was always nice to me, always seemed to be enjoying himself," Magee said.
Magee was one of several Siena men's basketball players to work at the track. Others included Michael Haddix, David Ryan, Alex Franklin, Erik Harris, Darius Haddix and Josh Duell.
Magee said a number of Siena season-ticket holders stopped in the clubhouse to say hello. Others just noticed the players' height -- all six stand 6 feet, 3 inches or taller -- and chatted them up about basketball.
"It was nice to be known at the racetrack," Magee said. "Especially since we're not even horses."
