Seventies pop-music teen hearthrob David Cassidy - who starred in "The Partridge Family" and made girls swoon with his hit single "I Think I Love You" - is tentatively scheduled to play Peterborough's Festival of Lights this summer.
Cassidy, once a ubiquitous presence on '70s teen magazine covers, hasn't finalized his contract with Peterborough's free outdoor summer concert series yet but is expected to open the season, said the festival's general manager, Kathy Kirkland.
In another blast from the past, Buffy Sainte-Marie, an Academy-Award winning Canadian First Nations songstress who rose to fame in the '60s and '70s, is also rumoured to perform at the festival this year.
The festival runs Wednesday and Saturday evenings each summer at Del Crary Park.
This year it's set to run from June 20 to Aug. 22.
A full list of performers is to be released tomorrow, Kirkland said.
