TIME LIFE MUSIC AND BILLBOARD TO PRESENT
SPECIAL COLLECTION OF #1 HITS FROM THE 1970s
Collection of Hits will be Featured in a Time Life Infomercial
and a Two-Hour VH1 Television Special "#1 Billboard Hits of the 70's"
Premiering February 20 on VH1 Classic
New York, NY - January 27, 2009 - Billboard, the world's premier source for music industry news, charts and information, today announced it has joined together with Time Life Music, and Rhino Entertainment to create and distribute an extensive collection of number one hits from the 1970s. The special edition, titled Billboard's #1 Hits of the '70s, will be promoted during a half-hour infomercial starring David Cassidy that will begin airing January 30 on select cable networks and local television stations, with a national rollout planned thereafter. The collection will also be featured in a two-hour VH1 Countdown special hosted by Mark Goodman. The special, "#1 Billboard Hits of the 70's" will premiere February 20 on VH1 Classic and will continue to air throughout the year on VH1 and VH1 Classic.
Billboard's #1 Hits of the '70s CD collection will be available for purchase beginning January 30 at 800-Time-Life or www.timelife.com/billboard70s.

Billboard's #1 Hits of the '70s includes nine CDs with 140 hits - each one a certified Billboard chart topper - by artists like ABBA, Bee Gees, Chicago, Olivia Newton-John, Linda Ronstadt, Elton John, The Doobie Brothers, Three Dog Night, and many more. The set also features one-of-a-kind hits like "Billie Don't Be a Hero", "Seasons in the Sun", "Afternoon Delight", "Brandy", and "The Night Chicago Died". .
As an added bonus, the compilation includes an additional CD with 15 hits that almost climbed to #1 including We Are Family and I'd Love You to Want Me. All in all, a spectacular 70s collection with 155 Billboard hits on 10 CDs. .
