They're moving on up.
The Peay brothers, the singing brothers from Greensboro who have roots in Robeson County, have advanced to the next round in the Singing Family Face Off on CBS' "The Early Show."
The Peays - Taimine, Katif, Majid and Solomon - competed against the Lorentzens of Reno, Nev., live on the "Early Show" March 4. The Peays, one of six families in the competition, did a rendition of "Beautiful Things" from "Doctor Doolittle." Their win was announced on Wednesday's show.
On March 4, they performed wearing tuxedoes and were accompanied by a piano. They finished the performance by singing a capella.
The celebrity judges, David Cassidy, Kathy Sledge and Jermaine Durpi, complimented the brothers on their stage presence and chemistry.
"You looked like you were loving it, and that makes us love it," Cassidy said on air.
The audience must have loved it, too, because viewers voted enough times to send the brothers to the semi-finals.
The remaining finalists are scheduled to compete March 18 and 22 on CBS. The winning family, which will be announced April 1, will be awarded a deal with CBS records.

Their mother, Joyce Peay, lives in Rowland and works at the Postal Service in Lumberton.
