Okay, I'm sure you diehards and shaghags already know about this -- though curiously, as with many items that could be advertised/sold there, these don't show up either on DC.com -- for the casual fan or those of us who only occasionally crawl from beneath our rock, herewith the exciting news that the complete David Cassidy RCA discography --two titles for the first time! -- is finally seeing the light of day on CD!!
Whilst I'm sure there will be those naysayers who will bitch about the prices, bear in mind --among other things --that 1) they're Japanese imports featuring 24 bit remastering and paper sleeve packaging, replicating the original album jackets, which means they should look AND sound great but also contributes to relatively high cost; 2) RCA/BMG here stateside couldn't be bothered to release this fine series of albums; and 3) until such time, if any, that they show up on iTunes or Amazon's MP3 song catalog, this is the only way we're gonna get these fine albums!!
There was of course, the wonderful compilation When I'm a Rock 'n' Roll Star: The David Cassidy Collection, a "best of" of sorts released by Razor & Tie a dozen or so years ago (!) and thanks to our own Mrs. Neugast, a fine package indeed, but for us "completists", it's high time that the entire RCA DC discography will be released in its entirety. Can't wait!!
I'm still poking around various sites to see who's got the best prices, but for information's sake only, here's what's available as listed on Amazon, all currently with a list price of $37.49 and scheduled release date of March 31, 2009:
