"I THINK I LOVE YOU!" That's what David Cassidy's fans seemed to be saying when they showed up in droves at Silverton Saturday for the 70s teen idol's one-night appearance in the casino's showroom.
"The room contains 700 seats and we expected about 400 people to show up," one house official told friends of ours who attended. "But we sold 850 tickets!"
Luckily, our friends arrived early enough to get a seat. Late comers were forced to accept standing room only. However they didn't seem to mind, we're told, as they joined in the ovations.
Perhaps helping to fill the room was the ticket price -- $25 ($30.75 with tax) to see this apparently still very popular entertainer.
We should probably expect to see Cassidy again in the not too distant future. He told his adoring audience to keep an eye out because he is working on a completely new show.
Congratulations to the folks at Silverton for a great coup in scheduling Cassidy, and thanks on behalf of those who attended for the truly reasonable ticket price.
