Singer David Cassidy at a press conference in Glasgow, 1974
Heart-throb singer David Cassidy prepared to answer questions from the press before going out to meet his adoring public in Glasgow in 1974.
The Daydreamer star had arrived in the city - sparking hysteria among his adoring female fans.
Back in the 1970s, there was no X Factor stars cluttering our charts and, believe it or not, Cassidy was in Scotland to play a gig at Shawfield Stadium.
The star, who shot to fame in the American musical comedy series The Partridge Family, had a string of hit singles in the early 1970s before fickle pop fell out of love with his type of music.
In the 1980s, Cassidy reinvented himself as a musical theatre star, taking lead roles on Broadway and in the West End.
Cassidy, who amassed 18 gold and platinum records with sales exceeding 25million, is still touring at the age of 60, with concerts across the US scheduled this year.
