CARLSBAD ---- The Foundation for Brain Injured Veterans will present a Celebrity Sock Hop at 6:30 p.m. April 16 at the Sheraton Grand Pacific Resort & Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Ave. Celebrities in attendance will include David Cassidy, the Shirelles, the Legends, members of Sha Na Na and other stars and singers from the 1950s, '60s and '70s, along with county Supervisor Bill Horn and Dave Mason from FM 105.7 The Walrus. Wear your '50s attire to the event, which includes a sock hop, awards banquet, auction and classic car show. Proceeds will support a music therapy center for local troops returning from deployment with traumatic brain injury. Tickets cost $35 for dinner, awards ceremony and concert; $20 for awards ceremony and concert only. Sponsor a military member as your guest for $15.
