Fans of 70s music journeyed back in time Monday during David Cassidy's Valentine's Day concert at Drury Lane Oakbrook.

The former teen idol and star of the popular '70s sitcom "The Partridge Family" led admirers on a nostalgic journey.

"This is a map of my musical life," Cassidy told the audience after opening with a slow version of the hit "C'mon, Get Happy."

The singer talked and joked with the audience as he delivered his signature pop hits and interesting renditions of other favorite songs.

His energetic concert starred a bulk of the tunes he performed as Keith Partridge in the television show, which also starred his real life stepmother Shirley Jones. Given updated treatments were "Point Me In The Direction of Albuquerque," "I Woke Up in Love This Morning" and "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted."

Other highlights were a version of The Beatles' "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away," which Cassidy performed in tribute to his friend John Lennon and the tune "Cherish," a dedication to all his fans.

Cassidy closed appropriately with "Partridge Family" anthem "I Think I Love You" as the crowd sang along.
