David Cassidy doesn't have to think when it comes to loving animals. He knows he loves them. That's why he's returning to North Chatham to headline the eighth annual Summer Paw Picnic, a fundraiser for the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA. Cassidy, star of the hit 1970s sitcom "The Partridge Family," has 20 albums and sang lead on Partridge Family hits such as "I Think I Love You." He will perform at 4 p.m. There will also be food, wine and beer, wildlife demonstrations, barn tours, a live art and antique auction and activities for children. 11 a.m. picnic; 4 p.m. Cassidy. Saturday. $80; $10 children under age 12. Waldorf Farm, Route 203, just south of the Route 203-Route 17 intersection, North Chatham. 828-6044; http://www.cghs.org
