10,000 Welcome David Cassidy To Summer Fling Stage

An estimated 10,000 people jammed into a pocket of downtown Des Plaines Saturday night to hear 1960s-70s heartthrob David Cassidy sing songs that he and his good friend, the late Davey Jones of the Monkees, made famous.
Cassidy's appeared at the annual Des Plaines Summer Fling festival. The main stage was moved this year to the corner of Lee and Ellinwood streets in order to accommodate more people. Last year, it was located a block to the east at Ellinwood and Pearson streets.
The youthful looking Cassidy performed for about 90 minutes and ended with the fan favorite "I Think I Love You"—a song made famous by the Partridge Family, a TV rock group, which Cassidy was a member of.
