Remember TV's wholesome Partridge family? Yeah, not so much.
In her new tell-all, "Shirley Jones: A Memoir," leaked to Confidenti@l a month ahead of its scheduled release, the Partridge Family matriarch says she was very in tune with the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle of her day. Sometimes she'd even flee the show's set for a quickie with playboy hubby Jack Cassidy.
"At the height of 'The Partridge Family,' now and again Jack would pick me up from the studio in the car, then drive us into the garage adjacent to our house, where he would have intercourse with me in the backseat," she says. She also reminisces about exotic escapades they enjoyed "wherever and whenever we wanted," including one go-round on the floor of a sailboat, dalliances in bathtubs and in backstage dressing rooms.
Jones also says her stepson David Cassidy was definitely his father's son. According to the tell-all, both Cassidy men were very well endowed.
"David's brothers called him Donk, for Donkey," she writes. The actress and author claims her sex encounters often involved other stars, and reflects back on one crazy night in the late '60s, after she and Jack had dinner with Anthony Newley and Joan Collins at their home.
According to Jones, Newley bragged to her and her hubby that he was in possession of a few porn flicks and suggested the four of them get naked and have a kinky movie night. Jones says she declined the invite.
The book also has a chapter about the night Jones and Jack Cassidy swung by Sammy Davis Jr.'s Beverly Hills home, where lines of cocaine were waiting on every tabletop and porn played on TV screens throughout the house.
While the '60s may be over, the 79-year-old Jones says she isn't done yet.
"I still want to make it clear that I believe that a woman can remain sexual right through her 70s and 80s and beyond. I am living proof of that." Jones writes. "Despite my advanced years, that hasn't changed a bit, although it can take longer than before for me to achieve sexual fulfillment these days."
Well, "Come on Get Happy," Ma Partridge.
