David Cassidy won't be back on tour for a couple more months, but the 1970's heartthrob is hoping for a closing act in Fort Lauderdale. The actor and musician, made famous for his role as Keith Partridge on the hit TV show "The Partridge Family," has relisted his mansion on Harbor Beach at a significant discount.
Cassidy asked $4.495 million for the 7,061-square-foot Mediterranean-style residence when he first began shopping it in August. However, after languishing on the market for more than six months, the property has relisted for $3.9 million —a price-chop of $595,000. Despite the reduction in price, it's not all bad for Cassidy — records show the entertainer paid $1.1 million for the home in 2001.
Remodeled in 2006, the home has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and a half-bath. A main master suite features its own formal entry, and there's an exercise room, a patio and a private office with a fireplace. A second-floor "guest VIP suite" comes with a separate sitting area and balcony.
Outside, the celebrity's home is shaded by palm trees and has a pool, spa and boat dock.
In addition to legal and marital woes that have followed him the last few years, Cassidy is no stranger to real estate headlines. In 2012, he had to part with a condo following a two-year dispute with mortgage lenders. In exchange for that high-rise unit, a Miami bank agreed to forgo Cassidy's debt of $920,000. A few months later, it was Cassidy's turn to play the part of bill collector, when he sued renters of his Fort Lauderdale home claiming $10,000 in unpaid rent.
