Earlier this week, it was widely reported that David Cassidy, star of Seventies sitcom The Partridge Family, would be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house for a fee of £100,000 when the new series gets underway on Thursday July 28.
But it now looks as if that won't happen, after Cassidy's agent told the Daily Express: "that the rumours are not true and he will not be on CBB this season".
Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side presenter Rylan Clark got tongues wagging when he said in an interview with This Morning that Cassidy would be the "perfect housemate".
"He’s obviously been through divorce, bankruptcy, three drink driving arrests, he’s been to rehab. He sounds like the perfect housemate in all fairness."
Alas, that now looks unlikely.
Cassidy is best known for his role as Keith Partridge in the Seventies sitcom The Partridge Family. Cassidy, now 66, has also released 12 studio albums, including 1973's Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes, which reached number one in the UK. He also had the best-selling single of 1970 with I Think I Love You.
