He was everyone's first crush! David Cassidy is known as one of the original teenage heartthrobs, but as he grew older, he proved to still be handsome at any age. The singer and actor first rose to mega-fame in the 1970s on The Partridge Family and has been a Hollywood icon ever since.
Sadly, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, David's family confirmed his death at age 67. “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy,” his family said in a statement. “David died with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.” Earlier this week, David's loved ones rushed to his side after he was hospitalized and in critical condition for kidney and liver failure.
In the past, David expressed how grateful he's been for landing the role of Keith Partridge more than 40 years ago. "It was fascinating how quickly it evolved, just by fate. It was obviously God's intent," David said in a 2011 interview with NJ.com. "I feel very, very fortunate to have had all of the stars align to do that. Because I was able to not only become very successful but to touch people's lives and bring light into their lives." We'll miss you, David.
