I went to David's concert at the Greek Theatre last week. We had something to do in L.A. in the afternoon and arrived at the hotel later than we had planned. Then the man at check-in said he is moving us to another hotel that they own a couple of blocks away. I'm not sure why. The room was fine, it just made me get to the theater later than I wanted to. We grabbed some fast food and I only ate half of it and left to go to the concert. I was supposed to be in section A, row K, seat 34. I asked at the box office if they had anything closer and I was able to get section A, row D, seat 21. I said a quick hello to some friends before going to my seat. I was eyeing some seats in the row in front of me when the comedian was on and thought about moving there during the intermission. Then an usher came walking in with Sue and showed her the seats! She nodded and walked away. Then Katie and 4 of her friends came in and sat there! It's a good thing I didn't steal her seats after all! Ryan was toward the back of section A and kept going up to see her and bringing her to where he was sitting to chat. I was tempted to take their picture but didn't want to bother them. During intermission I was walking around and ran into a friend who said she was in the front row of the pit and had an extra ticket and asked if I wanted to sit with her! Of course I did!!! I saw Shaun in section A and decided to take a non-flash picture of him from a distance. It was very dark, so it may not come out. Then the usher said that I had to turn in my camera to someone in the lobby. I told him it was announced we could take non-flash pictures and the camera did not have a flash on it. He said I had to turn it in because it was a professional camera. That was silly because it's not a professional camera so I just walked away from him. I saw Evelyn and Sue talking in the aisle.
The concert was great. David sang "Ricky's Tune" and ended with "Hollywood Nights". He sang "C'Mon Get Happy" and talked about how people would always come up to him and sing the song and he thought they were on crack because he only sang it once and didn't remember it. Then someone said "Sing it!" Then he said "I just did!" David said he was flying to London the next day to work on his CD. I brought my son, Michael to the airport that day and was wondering what time David was there. Of course I didn't see him. He announced about Evelyn, his kids, Shaun, Ryan, and Drew Carey being in the audience. The fans screamed so much for Shaun. He said he and Shaun would wonder in the past as to which one of them would end up in Las Vegas. A lot of fans brought roses up to David or put them on the stage if he didn't seem them and the usher told the fans to go back to their seats. Even Shaun brought a rose up to David but David was looking the other direction and didn't see him and Shaun ran back to his seat! I'm glad David wore different clothes this time. He looked great in the blue shirt and then the black sequined shirt and black jeans. Wednesday I leave for a trip to Michigan to see my husband' relatives and pick up Michael from camp and then go to New Jersey to see my mother and see David in Westbury!
