EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS BENEFIT CONCERT - February 27, 1995

Originally printed in the Just David Fan Club newsletter.

David Cassidy, Petula Clark and other cast members from "Blood Brothers" donated their Monday night off from the show to perform for this fundraiser. Ticket price was $25.00 with a 2 drink minimum per person. In the lobby autographed "Blood Brothers" posters and t-shirts were sold.

Petula performed first. She sang the Moody Blues "Somewhere", on top of a piano. Then her "Bouquet to the UK" set of songs, "Don't Sleep in the Subway", a medley of Elton John hits including "Crocodile Rock", Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and ended with the audience joining her in singing her signature hit "Downtown". The Blood Brothers cast without David and Petula sang the Indigo Girls' song "Closer I Am To Find." As they left the stage, David's name was announced.

David and Petula. Then David sang the songs "As Long As I'm Singin'", "Splish Splash", "Dream Lover", "(Up A) Lazy River", "Beyond The Sea" and "Mack The Knife". All songs originally performed by the late, Bobby Darin. (A teen-idol himself in the 1950's who later became popular in Las Vegas and died from heart disease at the age of 36 in 1973.)

Petula then joined David on-stage to sing each other's old hits. A funny version of "I Think I Love You" and then "I Know A Place". The rest of the cast accompanied them on "Tell Me It's Not True".
