Hi all - I had to respond to Janie's review. She is SO right. The best part was seeing how much fun David was having. It was contagious. And he did look great - better than he has in a long time. I don't know if he gained a bit of weight or just doesn't look so tired anymore, but he just looked healthy.
Here are some random observations: If the place wasn't sold out, it was very close to it, because empty seats were not visible. Candace Davis Martin could have and SHOULD have played Ruby in Copa. The back-up singers are now doing the high part of Lyin' to Myself, which works much better. DC has a marvellous rich voice, and Lyin' when I saw him in AC, well, didn't show that. ;-)
I loved the jazzy intro he gave to each of the band members. It was a song in which solos for each of the band sections were inserted. Does anyone know if he wrote that, or if maybe Lon Bronson did? Finally, the DC experience can only be enhanced by having fun people at your table. I really had a good time laughing and woo hooing with the gals at my table.
