I just got back from the concert in Shreveport. David put on an awesome show!! I had the most wonderful time. It was especially great to meet and hang out with some of you from here. I only have a minute so here goes.........
David looked so sexy!! My friend (NOT a DC fan!) who was with me even commented how nice his butt was!! LOL We sat on the 3rd row. It was RESERVED seating, which I did not know until I picked up my tickets. I was told by Harrah's on the phone it was first come, first serve seating. I was glad I didn't have to tip anyone for better seats! The first 2 rows looked like hi rollers...you could tell they were not fans!! They all had VIP passes to a party in DC's room after the concert. They just gave their passes to fans sitting around them since they were not interested in meeting him anyway. The night before, March 3rd, DC gave a concert for invited VIP guests only, so I guess most of them went that night. Good for us fans....we got closer!!
There were 2 very intoxicated women who made their way up to front row and would not stay seated. One gave him her glass of wine. He made a joke & took a sip. They had albums they were waving in the air. When he sat down on the front of the stage to talk to everyone they kept bothering him.....he told them to kindly sit down, this was his show and they already had their 15 minutes!! He was very nice about it. But you could see he was annoyed. Security ended up taking them out a few times and I heard they got arrested!!
He also sang LYIN TO MYSELF, NO BRIDGE, MACK THE KNIFE and RIVER DEEP MOUNTAIN HIGH with Candace*. He came out first with a fine purple shirt & black pants. He sang...I CAN FEEL YOUR HEARTBEAT, MEET YOU HALFWAY, I WOKE UP IN LOVE, CHERISH, I AM A CLOWN, ROCK ME BABY, SUMMER DAYS, ECHO VALLEY 26809. I loved it when he sang SING ME. I had never heard him sing that song since the 70's. (One of my favorites!) When he sang I THINK I LOVE YOU I got caught up in the moment and just walked up to the stage, took his hand and sang ITILY with him!!!! I still can't believe I did it!! He smiled sooooo sweet at me and I just looked into his eyes....you had to be there!!LOL A couple of others went up during the concert and gave him roses & a nice note.
When he sang TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS & CRY....I thought I would just melt in my seat!! He sings those 2 songs with soooo much emotion you can't help but feel it through your bones! OMG He also sang a really cute version of C'MON GET HAPPY. He changed to a black/silver outfit about halfway through the show. He didn't do the Johnny Flamingo routine. I guess that's all for now. I took about 10 pics or so with NO flash. I took lots of pics with the friends I met and of the billboards & posters. I'll post them if they come out. I'm still on a David high, even though I had to come back home to reality!! SIGH!!
PS! Before the show it was announced, "NO video or photography due to a contractual agreement". But a short time into the show DC himself said, "Hurry & take your pictures before I get too sweaty!" LOL I took some pics with NO FLASH. I don't know if anyone saw me, but no one told me anything. I did see security warn a few that were using a flash. He did not sing anything from Romance. The songs were not exactly the same as the concert last month....so he must be making changes all the time so who knows!
* Candice Davis-Martin, played "Cookie" in "David Cassidy At the Copa." She also filled in for Sheena Easton a couple of times.
