Hey everybody!!! I had a great time in Cherokee. Sorry I haven't written before, I've just been trying to catch up on the e-mail. Well first of all, I thought we would never get up the mountains. I'm used to flat land. When we got to the casino at 4 on Friday we picked up our tickets, there was nobody in line yet. So we walked around the casino and found out that the casino didn't sell liquor!!! The casino is located on the Cherokee reservation and no liquor is sold there. I can see why, the roads on the mountains were killer. We found a hotel right next to the casino and we just walked back over to Harrah's. We got in line and went to our seats about 7:15. When the concert started at 8:00, David came out looking absolutely GORGEOUS. First of all, he started singing PF songs and then some Copa songs. Scott (my husband) was laughing at some of the PF songs because he thinks they are too sugary sweet, but he was impressed with David's Copa songs and how he put on a very professional show and he really liked "Mack the Knife." When Candace came out, that really got Scott's attention. She had a very short, short skirt on with long legs. David and Candace sounded so good together. She also sang a solo.
David was so in tune with the audience. He danced all around the stage, he sat on the edge of the stage, and he sat on a bar stool. He really knows how to get the audience involved, he talked to you like he was talking to just a few people. He's amazing. When David introduced "Cherish", he said that was the most requested (by far) song listed on his web site. He sang one song that I couldn't place but it almost made me cry. It started out with his dad and mom and him on the beach when he was young. Which song was that? I also ran up to the front to shake his hand but didn't get to, it was jam packed with people, even guys. But I did get to see him super close, so hopefully I'll shake his hand next time. At one time someone was holding his pants legs and he said, "I think you want to take it with you, but can I have it back?" He was very gracious, considering everyone was reaching everywhere for him. I only got to take two pictures because security was so strict, which disappointed me. All in all, it was a great concert, but too short. I'm also wondering how in the world he got to Connecticut by 4 a.m. on Sat.by bus if the concert wasn't over until after 9:00 p.m. in western NC. That's a long drive!!!!
Thank you to Teresa and Erik (David Cassidy Fan Site of Norway).
