I went to see David twice this time in London (as Mum promised). I was really excited and so was Mum, (I think our suitcase on wheels was too, as all the way to London it kept wobbling and falling over).
On the 12th April we got checked for cameras (which they didn't find because yet again my artful Mum had hidden them - not telling you where!). Then we went to find our seats and just before the concert started, Sue, Beau and Ryan (Cassidy) came in with some other celebrities. One of them, Lynsey de Paul (I don't remember her) tried to sit in our seats and Mum gave her a right mouthful. She didn't recognise her of course at the time.
Then David came on and everyone went wild, screaming and shouting, so I just thought, "if you can't beat them, join them" and started yelling too! David was really really good just like last time I saw him in November and he sang loads of songs I knew like "Cry", "I think I love you" (of course), "CC Rider" and "I am a clown" and so many others that I can't write them all down. I like "Hollywood Nights" and I hope he will put that one out on a CD soon. In between gazing at David (now I sound like my Mum! Oh no!) I kept looking across at Beau who was just behind us across the aisle. I caught his eye and smiled at him and he kept looking at me after that. I wish I'd have had the courage to go and say "Hello".
Then later when I was reaching out to try to shake hands with David, I just couldn't reach, so Mum and Auntie Pauline tried to lift me up. David must have seen them pulling my arms out of their sockets because he squeezed my hand and smiled at me. I'm sure that's when I caught C.O.D.C.D. (Compulsive, Obsessive, David Cassidy Disorder), that's what Mum and I have written on the back of our T-shirts (we had them made specially! Well Mum did). I have "David Cassidy and S Club 7 really rock" on the front of mine and Mum has "Come on and ...Rock Me, David" on hers.
Anyway isn't shaking hands with him at the age of twelve really cool? Mum had to wait until she was 40 something .. And I had all of his hand because he grabbed hold of me, not the other way round!
Near the end they brought out a huge birthday cake onto the stage that had a horse and jockey on the top. David pretended to bite the head off the horse which made everyone laugh. We all sang Happy Birthday and he looked very pleased. Afterwards I was still shaking from getting to touch him.
The second concert was just as good and I got to shake hands again (it was wicked). I got right down to the front with my Mum's friend Diane's children Emma and Layla and David sang to us. Mum's friends came too that night and they were really impressed. (one of them is a Donny fan - ssssh!) Then at the end my Mum was determined to get something off the stage to keep, so she asked one of the men for David's bottle of water that he had left behind (she's a bit mad, my Mum). She couldn't believe it and she's hidden in the cupboard.
We waited outside for ages and the security people kept telling us that David had gone and wasn't going to come out (as if we were going to listen!) but he did.
He came out onto a little balcony. He was wearing jeans and a jacket with NY on it (I reckon he should have had DCF on it which stands for "David Cassidy Forever").
Guess what! He said that he will come back next year!!!!!!! I think he meant it and I can't wait. Everyone cheered really loud when he said it, so David you will have to do it now!
I think it was even better than in November (if that is possible) and when David comes back, me and my Mum (who still suffers from C.O.D.C.D) will be there!
I was jealous of my Mum as she went to see David in Sheffield as well and she took my Grandma. I couldn't go as the next day was school.
My Grandma enjoyed the concert (she's from Sheffield) and this is what she said about David, "He was ever so nice and he's a very handsome man". She knows some of the songs because we bought her Then and Now for Christmas and she told me that she was dancing. Cool!
Thanks a million David, you are great and we had a brilliant time. Hope you did too! Bye.
Love
