Cool Canyon Concert
April 11, 2003 The Canyon Theatre - Agoura Hills, CA
On April 11th, David performed at The Canyon Theatre in Agoura Hills, California. I was able to attend and as you can see from this page, I got a few nice photos of David while in concert. David was fabulous. The crowd was also enthusiastic. Among the crowd was Maureen McCormick who many of you may remember as "Marsha Brady" from that OTHER 70's TV family, "The Brady Bunch." David pointed her out in the crowd and said that they'd met at the TV Land Awards Show. Maureen told David she'd had a huge crush on him at the time and David said he was also fond of her but since she was only 12 and he was 22, the relationship could obviously go no where.
As you know, David's Birthday is April 12th, so some of the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to David and he thanked them. As you can see from the photo above one fan brought a British flag, which they gave to David!
Another fan gave David a gift. At first David thought the fan wanted an autograph but then someone said, "It's for you. She's giving it to you!" He said "OH! Thank you." It was one of those toy hamsters that sings "I Think I Love You." They had him play it and he held it up to his ear to listen to it. Afterwards, David said "Well, um...They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery - but in THIS case - I'm not so sure!" LOL
Later during the concert one of David's back-up singers, Candace brought out a Bran Muffin with a Candle in it and sang "Happy Birthday" with the crowd singing along. David mentioned "being 19 AGAIN for the past 30 some years or so." "Therefore, the Bran Muffin is appropriate."
Afterwards, a HUGE cake with candles and balloons were brought out with the band playing The Beatle's "Birthday." Here's a review by Mark Wycoff from this same concert titled Cassidy's Birthday Presence.
