Concert Reviews
Leelanau Sands Casino, Peshawbestown, Michigan, USA

It took me 6 hours to drive from my house to Northport, where my motel was. After settling in and eating, I drove to the Casino, which was about 15 minutes away from where I was staying. I went to the box office to inquire about my camera. One of the girls showed it to security and said I couldn't use it, because of the zoom, and that was the smallest lens you get with this camera. So I took it back to the car, and decided to use my point and shoot. I also inquired about the posters of David and what they do with them after the concert. The girl said they take names and give the posters out in order of receiving the names. So I gave them my name.
My seat was row 2, seat 12. It was almost center, but I didn't care. I could still see David. He is so gorgeous.
David came out a little after 8:00 pm. He had on black pants and the black shirt with purple going through it. David sang the same songs, except he didn't sing Do You Believe in Magic, Cry, and Hollywood Nights, three songs that I just love.
David was his usual funny self. He said he took a train, a bus, a car, a plane, to get there, and kept repeating it. He also said he only had 45 minutes of sleep. He found our small group very inviting and they were loud. My ears were ringing from the screams. The filled seats only went back about 10 rows or so. He said he should have come to this part of Michigan along time ago. I said to myself, yea, you should have. The audience did respond well to him.
Into about ¼ of the show, the house lights decided to go on. We do not know why this happened. While we were waiting for the lights to go off, David started playing and went into this blues song. I never heard it before. It was great! And he looked like he enjoyed singing it. You could see it in his face and expressions. He told us afterwards that that was the first time he did that song, unrehearsed. I called Carol, my friend, on my cell phone while David was playing, so she could hear it, didn't know if she picked up the phone or not, and let the song play on. She said she couldn't really make out what he was singing because it was so loud. This concert was one of his loudest for me. But this blues song was excellent.
One fan shouted to David, take your shirt off. David said take yours off first. Well, she didn't, and neither did David.
I don't know what song he was singing, but he took a cell phone from the audience, and started singing into it. Then he blew into the phone. Lucky person on the other end of that phone.
Later in the show, he went to put his guitar back in its stand, and it fell, and got out of tune. Someone took the guitar back stage to get it back in tune. Took a long time. David said to the effect that there goes the next 6 songs. He said you know the guy from Tommy, the deaf, dumb, and blind kid, that is who is tuning my guitar. I thought that rather funny. When he got the guitar back, sang the songs, and then placed the guitar back in its stand, David stood about 5 feet from it, and said sit, stay. He really cracks me up.
During another song, he went to two women in the front row, and he stopped singing and placed the mic by them. I don't know if they were talking during his song. David said funny how they get quiet when you put a mic in front of them.
It was over way too soon. He ended with I Think I Love. No encore with his usual Cry and Hollywood Nights.
