Concert Reviews
Stamford Palace Theatre and Mohegan Sun, Wolf Den, CT
October 7/8/9, 2004
It's the middle of the night and the songs and memories keep popping up in my mind. The long flight to the States, the driving, the queuing ... but meeting our friends and seeing our lifetime idol makes it all worthwhile.
Seeing David in concert after London felt a bit like coming home to a place where we love to be.
At Stamford, security tried to keep us in our seats, but every other song we used to jump up and run to the stage. It must have looked like we were doing the wave.
At first David's mike didn't work properly, but after they replaced it everything went fine, except for the guitar, but we are used to that too.
He started with "I can feel your heartbeat", "Point me in the direction of Albuquerque", "Echo Valley 26809", "Breaking up"..."Summerdays", then the acoustic part.
After that he did "Common Thief", "Ain't no sunshine", "Rock me baby".
He sang brilliantly, brought a lot of young girls on stage and sang "Cherish" to them. He talked with them, about The Partridge Family and their birthdays. Then he sang "I woke up in love this morning", "How can I be sure", "C'mon get happy", and finally "ITILY" .. no encore that night.
After the concert we drove to Mohegan, to queue, another homecoming feeling. Some got in queue, some went to bed. But at the end of a long wait was a superb concert! This was David, this was a real entertainer. Lots of jokes and talk about the Yankees. He's gonna make all of us fans his favorite team! These shows were a bit different than the Stamford show, but the song list was more or less the same.
Second night was awesome too. We danced and sang our hearts out. David sang all of our favorite songs. Thank you David, to us you're still the best!
