Concert Reviews
Weinberg Center for the Arts

Hi Everyone,
I was at this show and let me tell you, it was nothing short of spectacular!! David was in an unbelievably great mood. And his voice was in top form. He was very talkative and even brought several people up on stage for hugs and kisses. He sang Happy Birthday to a woman at the front of the stage. Lucky lady!!
He sang Lyin to Myself, which was a real treat for me as it is one of my favs and I hadn't heard him sing it in person before. --- And again, I have to say, his voice was in top form. He's never sounded better. At the end, when he did Cry, he belted it out like I had never heard before. You could really feel the emotion. All I could do was stand up with my eyes closed and listen. I felt the song with my entire body, it was that good!! My sister was with me, and she's not a fan, looked at me and said WOW, the man can really sing.
I can't begin to express what a wonderful show it was. He played longer than planned. He said that it was the most fun he has had on stage in many years. And it showed. It was a show deserving of every fan. Meaning... everyone who loves him should have the privilege of seeing him like he was Friday night. He was in rare form.--- He even got behind the drums and played. What a treat that was!! He said that was the first time he's played drums since 1976.
I had great seats. Third row. I met up with Terena, Frances, Ann and Gill from the UK. Terena and Frances had sold me the tickets. All of them were very sweet and I enjoyed meeting them and chatting with them. It was special for me.
I didn't go up to the stage. I had a perfect view from my seat. I leaned on the seat in front of me and just wanted to savour every second. That's not to say that I didn't applaud hardily and scream out a few times, because I did. But I had a need that night to just savour him. And savour I did. The last concert I went to he held my hand and sang the first half of Cherish to me. I was stunned and in shock for the rest of the night. Because of it, I think I missed part of that show! But I'm not complaining!! Friday night I made eye contact with him a couple of times. My heart raced but I was able to stay focused!! Because everyone else around me was up front, I guess looking down it seemed like I was sitting alone. And I saw him look down at me a couple of times. I loved it!!
He brought a little girl up on stage, she was maybe 5-6 and knelt down and sang to her. She had a look of pure terror on her little face! He then picked her up and danced around the stage with her. It was priceless!! -- There were so many sentimental and funny moments that it would take me a week to write about them!
I just hope that when he comes to the UK next spring that you see the David that we saw on Friday night. Whatever is making him so happy I hope it continues. Not just for our sakes but for his as well. Especially for his!! That was one happy and relaxed man!!
I don't know what more I can say about an awesome, perfect show. Oh I know, I didn't mention that he is gorgeous. But of course you all know that already!! That goes without saying!!
He did tell us that he doesn't tuck his shirt in anymore because he is getting fat!! Oh please......where?? He had the bottom couple of buttons undone on his shirt. When he lifted his arms (and you all know how animated he is ) we got quite a few good belly shots!! I'll be good here and just say "nice". Caused a bit of a flutter! I'll end this subject with that remark!
Spectacular show, spectacular performer and showman. Truly one of a kind!! I love him!! Then and especailly NOW!!
Take care all!! He'll be there soon. Wish I could be there with you all. Wish you all could be here. I'm going to see him again in February before he heads your way. He'll be in New Jersey, where he was raised. Hoping for another spectacular show!!
Love to you all!!
