La Mirada Theater for the Perfoming Arts. La Mirada, CA
I went to David's concert in La Mirada. I arrived at the Theater for the Performing Arts about 7:20. K-EARTH radio station was outside one of the entrances asking questions. I won at mug! I had heard they were going to be there giving out t-shirts, so I asked for one. She said I can exchange the mug for a t-shirt from the guy at the other entrance. He wasn't at the other entrance so I kept the mug.
When I went into the theater, she asked if I had a camera. I didn't want to lie, so I said yes. She said to put it in my car. I told her David doesn't mind if we take pictures, but she said it's the rule of the theater. I went and put my little emergency camera in the car and came back. I went to the same lady hoping she wouldn't ask me again since I still had my other camera with me, and she didn't ask me. It didn't do any good though, because I was too afraid to take pictures! I took one without flash, but it's just a blur. The security was very strict and whenever someone near me took a picture, security would tell them to stop. It was difficult to refrain myself because I love photography! I should have just taken pictures anyway, since they didn't actually take anyone's camera. It's a nice theater, but too strict on the cameras.
I spoke to some friends before the concert started. I was on the floor level in the second row. David wore a white short-sleeved shirt. He was in a happy, cheerful mood the whole night. He put on a wonderful concert. At one point, fans went up to the stage and stayed there. I debated whether or not to go up, but didn't. Then there was an intermission and I told myself after that I'd go up to the stage since others were there. But they announced that no one was allowed up until the last song (ITILY).
He sang the usual songs. I didn't write them down or tape it so I don't remember exactly what he said. He said two of his brothers were in the audience, but didn't want to say which two. I didn't see them. But a friend of mine saw Ryan. Another friend put her little girl on stage and was able to get a picture of her with David. I would have loved to put my son David on stage, but he is a wanderer and I know he would end up walking in circles around the band members!
David talked a lot about his hair. It was sticking up some in the front and on top. He wanted the audience's opinion about whether or not he should leave it as it is, or shave it all off! He said he didn't want to wear a wig. Everyone wanted him to leave it alone. I can't picture him with no hair!
When I went up for ITILY, it took some time because the girl next to me was doing something with her bag, so I couldn't get out, but I finally managed to get up there. I stupidly left my stuff at my seat so I didn't get any pictures! People brought their cameras up to the stage and were allowed to take pictures from there. I got two handshakes though. After ITILY, he came back to do "Cry" as the encore. Before that he said his mother is dying and he saw her that day to say goodbye. It was so sad to hear that. I hope he sees her again before that happens.
