David Cassidy - Concert Review
Disney World - Epcot, Lake Buena Vista, FL
October 14-16th, 2007
Going to Epcot to watch David 3 times a day for 3 days running, we were not sure if maybe watching the same show over & over again would be too much BUT we have to say we enjoyed every one of them in spite of the heat & having to queue.
Yes he had to sing the same songs for 1/2hr each time but that was the nature of the shows as though every show had a new audience which is no different from all the other artists that appear in this " Eat to the beat series". He did try & change the pace of some of the songs in each show singing some in the original form & then again in another show in the "Remix" version & boy does he seem to really enjoy doing I'll Meet You Halfway like this. Although Jan & I were the only 2 out of our UK friends that we usually travel with (until we reached NJ ) we met up with a lot of friends. People we knew from the UK & abroad & some we met for the first time. Thanks to all of you for your company & friendship & a special thanks to Jane's husband Glen & Christine's son John for queuing for us for the 2nd & 3rd shows & for putting up with a bunch of mad women. They deserve a medal.
Did David do himself any favour's doing these shows? We think he did. Besides all the fans that were there from all over the US, UK & Europe (sorry if I've missed anybody out ) there were people who would have just come for the odd show. Some that would have just been in the park that day & some who would have stopped by out of curiosity to see that ex PF guy. The feedback we heard was they enjoyed the shows & maybe a bit surprised that they did. Doing shows like this gives him a broader audience in all age ranges, the sound was good, his voice was as good as ever & he filled every show.
Were the bosses at Disney impressed? We think so; he has been asked back next year & we believe for 4 nights - that's if he'll do 4 - It seems the management have never seen anything like it. Obviously they've never been to a DC concert before.
Would we do it again? You bet we would. We had a ball & that's what it's all about having fun.
Jane & Jan
