Concert Pictures
Hollywood Casino, Bay St. Louis, MS
March 23, 2013
My husband and I left Saturday morning for a 5 hour drive to see David in concert at the Hollywood Casino. It was raining on and off all day. During the drive I had David playing on my I Touch to pass the time away while hubby took a long nap.
We arrived around 1;30 in the afternoon and checked in. Went down to the gift shop to get my tickets, (front row but far right) and to get the wrist bands so I could go back stage to see David for the Meet and Greet. Of course I was really getting excited now! I called my friend Sam who also attended the concert to let her know I was there and we got together for lunch with her husband. (The band walked in as we were eating) It was nice seeing her again and meeting her husband too. We hung out quite a bit over the weekend so it was fun. She was extremely thrilled as I had an extra back stage pass so she came in with me to meet David. After lunch we needed to stretch out for awhile, so we headed to our room to rest from the long ride there.
At about 6:45 I met up with Sam and we headed to the meet and Greet line. My hubby came down later. There were way more going back stage than I was told. I was the 4th person in line for my picture. There was a professional photographer there doing the picture taking. As it turns out, everyone had to double up for pictures as there were way too many people there and David was late. So Sam and I got our picture together which was just fine with me. I was just glad to be there. Not sure when we get our photos, will post when I do! It was all too quick. We then headed to our seats where our hubbies were waiting.
David came out, looking good, and opened with "C'Mon Get Happy". During the Band Intro David sang Stepping Stone, ( a monkey song) and a Rolling Stones song, You Can't Always Get What Ya Want. I was not able to film that as a giant speaker was in front of me. If anyone caught that and would share I would love a copy! He did a really nice performance of Cherish. I saw a few regulars at the show, but as the concert was in a venue in the middle of nowhere I was not too surprised. However the venue was full. David and the band were on stage for about an hour and 10 minutes. He was supposed to do the encore CRY, but some lady tried to pull him off the stage so he left and did not return.
The venue, I was told, held 1,000 people and most of it was filled, which was very nice. The stage was really low so you got a good view of David. Pictures were allowed, but without flash. You could film also. Two female security guards were at the stage so people stayed in their seats for a change which was nice. Only during "I Think I Love You" did people go up to the stage.
We had a good time. Not sure when I will see David next. But will be ready when something good pops up!
Autumn.
