Two Book Signings, A TV Show and More!

I'm slowly coming out of the DC fog!lol I had a wonderful few days last week living in the David bubble and I so don't want to come back to real life!!lol
I went to both book signings which were brilliant, David was lovely and he got a wonderful reception at both.
I got to Waterstones at 6.45am and was 8th in line but moved back a bit when some friends arrived, so was number 17 in the end.
I didn't say too much to him, just thank you for doing this for us, to which he replied "you're welcome honey", then he said as he was giving my book to me "lovely to meet you Terena". I think I floated away!!!
At Lakeside I got there at 9.30am and was 10th in line. All my friends were already there so didn't have to move this time. It was a long day as David didn't arrive till 6.15pm, 15 minutes late but he did do the hour as promised plus and extra half an hour and it was so worth it.
He got the most amazing welcome, the difference at Lakeside was he could see everyone in the queue, there were hundreds of people there, at Waterstones people were queued up around corners so he couldn't at anytime see the full extent of how many people were there.
We had such a fun day, the security people and staff were brilliant and made the day for us and I think we made theirs, they were lovely. One of them even filmed a few of us going up to David for me so I have my moment for ever.
There was the main queue, then there was another winding down the length of the mall and above where he was signing was a big glass dome and there were 2 or 3 floors above and people were watching and leaning over, to see!! It was an amazing sight!!!!
David was much more chatty and spent a lot of time with people and was very tactile.
This time I was getting the book signed for a friend, I explained this to David and he thought it was amazing that I'd queued all day for someone else. I said that I'd got mine signed yesterday. So he asked what my name was. I also mentioned that I would be at the tv show the next day to which he replied "I'll see you there". I also told him that I loved the book. He then told me I was beautiful and then took my hand and kissed it!!!
We hung around for the next hour and a half just watching, mesmerised by him.
When it was time to go, he came around the crowd in front of him and took all our hands and kept saying thank you!! It was like being at a concert.
Now you understand why I'm still in the fog!!!lol
Next morning we made our way up to London for the tv show we arrived at about 7.20am and were to meet someone from the show at 8am.
We had the most amazing time the staff and the presenters loved us and wanted us to all come back next week!!!
David was wonderful and got stuck in straight away, this was a slightly different show to what he usually does, it was a panel show about current affairs. It wasn't heavy and serious though and all good fun!
I think the host was pleasantly surprised and thanked David after for getting stuck in. He had a lot to say!!lol
During the ad's David was talking to us and said "I have a question for the audience" he said "I'm thinking about shaving my hair off, what do you think?" He got a resounding NO as a reply!
I'd also been asked to take some David memorabilia with me, which I shared out. David asked my friend to take up my puzzle she was holding, so he had a good look at that. Then later he asked another friend to take up a book of mine she was holding. This ended up being shown on screen and talked about.
Matthew Wright(the host)was lining up a shot for when the ads were over and it looked like he was reading Davids book. I shouted out " Matthew you need page138" which is about Barbara the butter queen. He thought it was hilarious and said on screen when we were back on air that one of the fans had told him to look at the naughty bits!!
After the show David came over to us and chatted for a while and we talked about the new CD and he said it was selling really well and we said we couldn't get it over here, he said he knew. He came around the audience and took all our hands again and looked like he really didn't want to leave.
Later that evening he appeared live on my regional news programme, where he mentioned my puzzle that he'd seen earlier in the day!
Well thats my story, I had the most wonderful few days but it wouldn't have been half as special without my friends to share it with.
Lots of love,
Terena. xxx
