The Partridge Family - Season 2, Episode 11 (36)
Title: I Can Get It for You Retail
First aired: November 26, 1971
Synopsis:
Shirley has a birthday fast approaching. Danny sees Shirley admiring a mink coat in a shop window and would love to buy it for Shirley, but how can he afford to buy it for her? Danny comes up with an idea of an auction and to sell Keith's belongings to the love-sick girls at school. He and Chris start collecting Keith’s things such as his toothbrush, belt and even his buttons. Danny even comes up with the idea of cutting Keith's hair. Poor Keith thinks he is going crazy and when Keith says, "It all started when I lost my pickle!", it is very funny.
Reuben and Shirley have their suspicions about who is responsible for the items disappearing. The family turn up at the auction to find Danny selling Keith's personal items. Shirley makes Danny and Chris buy back everything they took. To keep the girls happy, the family perform a song on the roof of the bus.
On Shirley’s birthday, she is surrounded by her family and receives some beautiful gifts. Reuben gave her a locket and Tracey put a picture of the cookie monster inside. Danny and Chris couldn’t afford the mink coat, so they give her a mink rabbits foot instead. Keith gives his mom a beautiful bracelet, that he managed to pay for, by cutting some of his own hair. Shirley is very touched by what her children had bought her.
