The Partridge Family - Season 4, Episode 14 (88)
Title: Two For The Show
First aired: January 19, 1974
Synopsis:
Reuben manages a new act, 14-year-old twin brothers Andy and David, who are to be the family’s guests and record some demos. They not only look alike but also dress alike.
Although they are younger than Laurie, they have a crush on her. In order not to hurt the twins’ feelings, Laurie goes on a date with them. They are very serious about it and ask Laurie to choose between them. To help her make a decision they decide to dress differently and also stop performing together.
Reuben, who hadn’t taken their infatuation seriously, is terrified that he will lose money as the recording studio is already booked. Desperate, Laurie agrees to Keith’s and Danny’s plan. Of course, she has to pay them for it. But the plan backfires and Laurie resorts to asking her mother to talk with the boys. The conversation is very difficult for Shirley, she tries to explain that such crushes are very normal, appear and disappear very quickly. Shirley thinks the boys haven’t understood what she’s wanted to explain to them.
Just as Laurie musters up her courage and decides to tell the boys the truth that she is not interested in either of them and that she’s been afraid to hurt their feelings, the twins tell her that their crush is off and that they won’t let any girl come between them. They record some songs and play a very successful concert.
